This is a really eye-opening thread. I thought I would have been in a huge minority, and nothing could be further from the truth apparently. I would have bet an almost stupid amount of money that I would have been virtually the only one to have never stayed in a DVC resort, much less a deluxe resort when this thread began. And just guessing by what tends to be the general population of this board and especially the DVC areas, I would also bet that option zero rises greatly on the DVC ownership as a whole. Color me surprised. I would have never guessed it.

They have so many YouTube videos , you can see every inch of the dvc rooms online. Also I think most people have stayed at various levels of hotels and understand amenities without experiencing them.

I was surprised too but I believe the results are representative and telling. If you Disney math it out and it makes sense, you jump in. You don't have to sleep there if it's about vibe and location. Disney has a kind of consistency that people trust. I like stats and ponder about the application of this newfound knowledge if I were a Disney decision maker.

I am not surprised, the cash rate left reality in the rearview years ago. There was/is a 0% chance of me paying cash rack rates. Even at this summers huge discounts i jumped on the chance to convert my $400 a night "discounted" cash stay at BC to points when I added on.

First deluxe resort stay was in 1999 at Wilderness Lodge. The wheels started turning …spoke to lobby DVC salesperson and we made an appt at Boardwalk DVC. We bought in at BWV and added on at WL shortly after. We did a short review of the math and went with “gut” feeling…. Can’t buy time.
