Carol - I hope your surgery goes well. I had one of those neck surgeries years ago and it really helped - :wizard: that the surgery is successful and the recovery is short! Please count me in on one of those fish extenders. DD will love to help decorate. I'll just have to remind her to not place ALL of the stickers on top of each other! :rotfl2:

MommaluvsDis - what is transfer paper?

Peter - how does DVC point renting work? Can non-DVC members use it? That pricing seems much better than what WDW charges - and we've always loved staying at the DVC resorts. :thumbsup2

Amd just what is a DYNGUS day? :confused3

Scott - jealous about the Cayman trip. Have a great time! What day is the DiveQuest trip?

I wanted to make some magnets for the door and shirts to match the door magnets. Don't know if it will happen or not.

I have so many made from last year for the PC cruise, maybe I can use the ones from then, without the dates from last May.

I have notes somewhere and was supposed to make some magnets for Tom & Diana and I think they got lost in the flood and hurricane mess. I have some big apologies to make when I see them. My magnet paper and transfer papers got ruined in the flood also and I have never bought anymore since then. We had to move out of our house for six weeks until it was made liveable until we got back in. Everything was a total mess.

Sorry I rambled on - I got caught up in the moment !!!

Carol - pixie dust goes out to you for your surgery

Love the FISH EXTENDERS - THEY ARE WONDERFUL

Hope everyone has a great week

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Its been awhile since I have posted. I missed so many postings, so I just read the last few pages.
Just want to say I love the t shirts and will probably get one for eachus sailing. :thumbsup2
Could someone fill me in on the lanyards and name tags. How do I get them, what do they cost? :confused3
I also am curious about the fish extenders, is someone making them? Or is it make your own. I would LOVE to get one.

FYI: All FL RES I just called DCL last week and found out they now have FL RES rates available for this cruise. WE have 2 SPH rooms with 3 per room and just got a discount of $550 per cabin!!! :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Sweet Sue,

The paper I'm talking about is iron-on transfer paper. I got mine at Wal-mart in the stationery isle.

There are 2 kinds, on for dark fabric iron-on, which is what I used for the red areas, and one for the light colored fabric that I used on the white areas.

The transfers for the red had to be completely cut out with no extra white around them. I used the small square of white on the red at the top so that my DVC emblem would show up.

Complete directions are in the package. I printed the clipart on regular paper first and placed them around to see how I wanted them before doing the transfers and ironing them down and that really helped.

The transfer paper goes thru your printer like regular paper only one sheet at a time is suggested.

Did I explain that clearly? It's a little early in the morning for me!

Speaking of transfer paper, I found some adhesive backed cotton that you can print to with your ink jet printer. I used that to print my decorations for my fish extender. Sorry no pictures yet. The two big differences I noticed with the cotton and the iron on transfer paper -- you don't need to iron it on, just peel the backing and stick. Also the print looks softer, not crisp. Oh and the third thing would be that you can't wash an item with the cotton but you can wash the iron ons. The t-shirts I made with the design by @goofynut for Cruisetoberfest have held up great with many washes!

Scott - jealous about the Cayman trip. Have a great time! What day is the DiveQuest trip?

Sue, the Dive Quest event is on 9/29 at 6:15, cost to be determined by the number of folks we have. Limited to 12. If interested let me know and we will get ya on the list. I think we have 8 so far.

Thanks for the transfer paper info - Now I got it! :goodvibes

Would love to do DiveQuest but not sure if I can stay over in Orlando that weekend. I probably won't know until fairly close to the trip so don't worry if it fills up without me.

My DD loves the door magnets. We made some from our Magic cruise just like the T-shirt design. It came from the cafepress shop. She still plays with them and talks about the Disney cruise. She carried them everywhere as we were getting ready for our cruise this past weekend. It was really cute. For the Magic cruise I had a different door sign for each day based on the events of the day. I ended up tossing most of them since we never went to any of the ports we were supposed to go to! This cruise I just made ONE door magnet along with all of our Mickey magnets.

Good morning Lynn and Scott:

I would love to join you for morning exercise and breakfast. Unfortunately, Ken is not into walking or running due to bad ankles - now, if he has a bicycle available, he could ride circles around us while we walk. :rotfl2: And we're new DVC members so can you help me out with OKW - don't know where you're staying.

Although it's colder in California than I would like (48 degress this morning), at least we don't have white stuff on the ground. Hope it melts quickly and warms up - I'm ready for some warmer weather myself.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Ken and Shari,
Congrats on your first DVC stay, we will be just down the canal or exercise path at OKW, maybe we will meet for morning exercise, then have breakfast.
Lynn and Scott

ps Scott is asking if rain is supposed to be white and fluffy :cold: At least it is not sticking!

Good Morning! :sunny: :sunny: Hope everyone had a great Easter and Passover. The weather here is rainy and cool right now :sad1: but they are saying that the sun will come out this afternoon. :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for all the well wishes on my surgery. :grouphug: Having reached 58 and having had no broken bones, surgerys or major illnesses I am a little apprehensive about it :worried: :worried: and it helps to know that you all are thinking about me.

Those of you that have requested extenders are on the list. :) I will PM each of you with what we need to get them to you.

Denise, your extender looks great. I can't wait to see them all when we get on board the ship. We used the dark transfer paper to put our picture on the top pocket and it was easy and looked great. We did our name with iron on letters. We used scrapbooking decals for the rest of the pockets. Just used a better glue to put them on with. It will be fun to see the different methods used for decoration.

Sandy, get busy with yours. We would like to see it. I let my DH do ours and he had such a great time doing it he wants to do more. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I just wanted to let those that have extenders from past cruises know that they are more than welcome to join in the fun of having one of these to decorate. We are really enjoying making them for everyone and glad that they have been received so well. My DH came up with the idea that if there are enough decorated ones we could maybe have a contest. :confused3

Scott, hope your arm is doing much better. Luckily I don't think my surgery will be quite so complicated. One night and I will be home. Two to 4 weeks recoup. Also, glad you have the snow and not us. Can understand why you can't wait to retire and move to Florida. It has been a very mild winter here this year and my DH and I can't wait to move someplace warmer. :woohoo:

Hey Elaine: Actually, it's already 62 and the sun is shining. Maybe it will be a good week after all - no rain predicted on Weatherbug - that's a first in the past several weeks.

I hope you get higher than 56 today. :sunny:

Hi Carol:

We have an original FE but if we're going to have a decorating contest, I'd love another one if you have time. :yay: Let me know what you want me to do. Thanks.

Sounds like you live in South Florida - oh WAIT - you DO live in South Florida! :lmao:

Isn't h. remodeling great fun? I'm already on my second flooring now. Had a beautiful wood floor laid down (the old one got a bit soggy from the H.), then the lovely wood people realized they were about 3 feet short. Of course they couldn't find wood to match! So, up it came. That's why I had to go on a cruise last weekend. So they could tear up the floor! Okay, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :teeth:

Good luck!

Sweet Sue

Boy is my DH going to be surprised. :rotfl2: :lmao: He suggested a contest a few weeks back but I wasn't sure I could do it. :confused3 The more I thought about it and the more I saw the finished extenders, the more it sounded like fun.  Let me put my thinking cap :wizard: on and I will see what ideas   I can come up with. :rolleyes1 :scratchin If anyone else has any ideas let me know and we will put them all together and come up with a plan. Maybe we could have come volunteer judges, several categories and either small prizes or ribbons. We could do it around the middle of the cruise since some are going to decorate theirs on board the ship. Anyway, those are some ideas to start with.

As far as getting any requested extenders done, that won't be a problem. I can get two to three made a day and I have plenty of time before the cruise even with the surgery.

Tracy, when I get a handle on this I will PM you info for the newsletter. Either this month or next.

Boy it is nice to finally be retired and have time to do things like this.

Carol
