DisneyBlonde, BEAUTIFUL PICTURES :groom: :bride: You two look so happy together! I just love weddings! I can't wait until dd gets married dh is gonna cry like a baby.
You know, we could load up a truckload of booze and bring it to the port, but then we would be looking for a job. But that would be ok, someone on this board would take us in and feed us, pay for our cruises, and pay kids tuition- Right? Anyone? Just let us know where to back the truck up and where to forward our mail too :rotfl:
We have 2 brand new a/c units in our home because (lucky us) our a/c upstairs and down went out right before we signed on our house last march. The homeowner had to provide a fix or brand new and neither could be fixed so NEW A/C for us! Our house sat mty for 5 years so he had no idea it didn't work. I can see how no a/c in ohio would be very nice most of the year. You guys usually have mild weather. But this heatwave across the whole country is driving me INSANE! Southern California is gonna be a scorcher from there we have to run I-10. Might as well be called I-115 because that's how hot it is! Hope everyone is having a great morning!
Oh, and PLEASE nobody show my dh a GPS thingy on the cruise! He is a gadget freak and I don't need something else to remember to charge up :rotfl:

Good moring everyone. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a party on Sunday for the office staff Carolyn works with. When the house tour got to the Disney room, it was a challenge to explain a fish extender to people who have not been on DCL or have never cruised at all. I'm still not sure some of them understood the explanation.

If there is any space on the booze truck, we have a couple of cases of wine we would love to deliver to the ship! Alex

Hi Everyone

For those who were interested in the St. Kitts ATV tour - forget it. I just received the following from the tour operator:

Hi Ken

Bad news I'm afraid. Unfortunately we have been let down by our parts supplier (again), and we are completely unable to have any bikes available for your tour. This is not the first time we have been let down, and as you can imagine, we are losing huge amounts of money due to poor service from our supplier. We are currently in the process of taking action against them due to this ongoing problem.

I wish there was something I could do to get you a tour arranged, but its totally out of our hands.

I hope you have a fantastic cruise, and a great time here on St Kitts.

Once again, please accept my apologies.

Kindest Regards
Jim Lee

So - the ATV tour is off. :confused3

We'll haul a load of stuff if you guys want us to but with fuel prices the way they are you might be better off opening a brewery/winery/distillery at the port :lmao: I can make ya'll some Alabama house wine (muscadine)... :stir:

Question, what is the MiniNavigators? I am looking for a meet and greet kinda deal for my girls, 5 & 10. Is that what the mini navigators is??????

Funny you should say that... when our dd got married, my dh boo-hood down the aisle, my poor dd had to struggle to keep herself from losing it too... when they reached the end of the aisle, my dh clutched onto the groom and started him crying. What a sight... two big tough Marines in dress blues clutching onto each other crying their eyes out! They made all the guests start crying! When my dh finally calmed down enough to sit next to me, he swipped my 1 and ONLY kleenex and blew his nose in it then asked for another... when I told him that was all I had, he got preturbed with ME! Like I was supposed to know that he was gonna be a big baby that day! :rotfl2:

Bless his heart! My dh choked back tears at dd's high school graduation. He was so excited. We are hoping that when dd decides to get married we can persuade her into a WDW wedding   I think he'll cry for ds as well! Those kids are his heart and soul. Cute story about your hubby- I can see them now, your dd was thinking "I'm supposed to cry not you guys!' :lmao:

Alex,
We'll be glad to bring your wine for you. You are only 20 minutes from us. Just PM me so we can connect. We'll be driving the Mom-mobile so we should have enough room. We will be bringing a couple of Lakeridge Muscadine blends ourselves.
Best Regards,
One of the Four "Wonder"-ful Wine Women

Holy cow! You all have been busy! I have been lurking while I was on vacation at WDW and finally caught up this morning.

I want to congratulate the grandparents!

Alex- 20 mile walk at CC? Wow! How many times will you have to loop around the island for that?

Peter- I can pick up some RR for you if you would like. My sister who is coming on the cruise with us lives in Windermere & goes to Costco frequently. She is more than happy to pick some up if anyone wants us to bring it.

MuuMuu Sor- I just purchased some muumuus off of Ebay- some from the 60's & 70's. Very psychedelic. When are we doing this?

I am the keeper of the cell phone list- thus far, I only have 3 or 4 numbers. As we get closer to the cruise- I will email them to those who have sent them to me.

BTW- we did the dining plan during our five days at the Beach club villas and I would caution anyone who is planning to eat at Coral Reef during our stay. I did something I have never done before in my life- I sent a meal back. Overall the meal was poor and the food quality was low. With Epcot having such wonderful food- I was really surprised with this. However, we were told that since the restaurant has reopened that they have been having problems with chefs and food quality.....just something to consider.

If anyone is interested in restaurant reviews: we ate at Le Cellier, Spoodles, Ohana, Coral Reef, & the Concourse Steakhouse.

Have a great Monday!

Hi Celeste

I would be interested in hearing about Ohana. We are planning to eat there after the cruise.

Thanks
Ken

Sorry to hear about the Coral Reef. Hopefully they will get it straightened out pronto. I plan on having our family dine there while we do the Epcot dive. I better check it out when we get closer. I don't want the whole clan disappointed. Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2

We too were having our family do this while we did the dive. However we cancelled our reservations and booked for spoodles earlier and told them to watch from the deck at the living seas.

The appetizers were very good- shrimp cocktail, calimari, and lobster bisque. My husband & I got crab cakes for dinner which tasted like the crab was old. Below the crab cakes was a sausage & potato has which sounded interesting & would have been a great compliment- but the sausage was too spicy, burned your mouth and over powered the crab cake. I sent it back and asked if I could have a ceasar salad. I didn't dare try more fish- for fear of the quality. The salad had some brown leaves- which were hearts of romaine and salad dressing which had too much olive oil & sadines so it was "olivey" & salty. Let me give this disclaimer that I live hot foods and I usually ask for sardines to be one my salad because I will eat them with it. I will also give the disclaimer that I am one of seven children- so I am not a picky eater. Overall, the service was okay, the astmosphere is beautiful- it was a shame that the food did not match.

My family & I have always enjoyed going to Ohana. They have been tweaking the menu over the past few months. They have been pulling & adding items off of the appetizer portion of the menu- it seems that they have currently established a good combination.

We ate with the DDP- so we had sodas, virgin pina coladas, & Robb had a latte with dessert. (all included no extra charge)

Appetizers were a salad with ginger-lime dressing, soy ginger chicken wings, wontons, sweet & sour peel & eat shrimp.

Dinner- steak, pork, turkey, sausage, & chicken all brought around table to table on skewers. (Like at the brazillian steak houses)

Dessert- hawaiian bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream with a banana foster's sauce.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service can be slow at times- but it is usually a good pace. If you are going around the fireworks- you might want to request a table by the windows. Or I would recommend going out to the beach & watching them there. There are also activities for kids- hula dancing, etc.

I'm not saying a word about your GPS stuff to Lamar. Last year we put our kayaks in the St. Johns and did a short one way trip north to a well known local marina. He had his clipboard out the whole time mapping the river. While I was enjoying the wildlife he was nearly getting run over by the tourist steamboat. He was in the middle of the river and wouldn't get out of the way! The horn on that thing is loud! I'm sure the passengers enjoyed it. I can't imagine what giving him a GPS would do to him.

The kewl thing about GPS is that it will do the tracking and mapping for ya, so you can enjoy the critters and views.
I plan on having our family dine there while we do the Epcot dive.

Kewl we will have some one to make faces at.... Friendly Disney faces that is... well maybe not given what Celeste said in her review. That is sad.

I can not say I have ever had Muscadine Wine, looking forward to giving it a try.

Hello folks!

We are just about to transfer our reservation (tonight) in to join this sailing! We've switched our flight reservations and are all "set". We are a family of 4, with DD 2.75 and 5.5. This will be our 4th DCL sailing and our 1st on the Wonder. This also makes for our 16th (or 18th - depending on whom you ask between my spouse and I) sailing.

Is it too late to get in on any DIS gear for the sailing? Who is on the comittee for various things - like the DIS meet, quasi DIS tours and so on? Is there a seperate web site for the gang?

Below is a link to a photo series from our last sailing - a Carnival 8 niter to Mexico from this past Valentines' week! Click through for the slide show!

Cheers!

from Tom & Alicia
