September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

The question in the minds of the masses is, whether you will unpack the garment back whilst you are in Disney World. Or hang it up with the clothes still in it?

I'm tormented by this burning question myself.

Just to put you out of your misery I will hang it, open it and straighten up the clothes therein. I might of course get the posh stuff out to wear on the Friday evening!!!

I am sure that both of you will be über-lovely regardless of what you may say.

I've been reading about mickey bars on the cruise boards and I was wondering where you get them while on the ship and are they free?

Room service as previously noted and in the restaurants but you have to ask (not on the menu).

The only ice cream otherwise available is soft-serve self-serve that's next to Goofy's Galley.

And there are forms of ice cream on the assorted dessert menus. Had a couple of tasty sundaes on the WBPC trip. :thumbsup2

WELL MUCH LESS for me !!!!!!!!!!!!

2 days to go to ALABAMA to pick up my truck
surgery on the 4th
LEAVE on the 9th for WDW
I HAVE A GREAT LIFE

gaRRy

Hope all goes well with the surgery. I've still got healing stiches right now from my 'procedure' last week.

No need for uber-lovelieness that Friday. Although, I will be wearing a lovely new top with cotton slacks. (Same one I plan to wear for Palo brunch.)

LOTS to do this weekend, including some straightening up around the house.

Monica, the box I am sending you will go out today for arrival at your office by Wednesday (that's my plan anyway).

Box for the ship will go out on Wednesday...Peg, I may end up doing two small ones, so will want to send one to your stateroom as long as you aren't planning to send one of your own.

Off to call the bank and visa to report out of state/country spending!

.

I've got some urgent paperwork to get done this weekend....so I won't have any time for cruise prepping. It's a good thing I started packing early. I leave in a week and have to divert my energy to something else temporarily. It's killing me but it's necessary. :confused3

Got my hair cut last night. Went back to the 'pixie'. It's going to be so much more comfortable in the humidity of FL. Now to color it and hide that grey. :scared1:

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS....

Ladies, just an update. I'm waiting to hear back from DCL. They have my request and they are working on it. When they get back to me I will let you know immediately. I'll do an email to everyone.

If I don't find out anything until I get on the ship or if there are any changes, I will send a voice message to everyone's telephone onboad. Make sure I have all cabin updates. Let's hope we hear from them this week.

So........I was trying on clothes tonight for WDW and the B2B cruises. :scared1::scared1::scared1::eek::eek: You would think since I have known about this cruise since May/June 2008 that I would have lost lots of weight so that my clothes would fit well. :sad2::sad2: Unfortunately, this is the "norm" for me. :sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1: Maybe one day :wizard:

Join the club!! I had all summer to loose weight for our DW vacation and I kept putting it off. We just booked the cruise and I am kicking myself! :scared1::scared1::confused3:eek::eek:

Shots Around the Ship
A Stem to Stern Extravaganza!

I have just sent out emails to everyone who signed up for this event. But I will post the information here as well. At last count, including friends and family there were about 45+ people for this event.

Here is the event information:

Date: Sunday, September 13th

Time: Meeting up between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m

Place: Promenade Lounge, Deck 3, Aft

This is an ice breaker event and has been extremely successful on other cruises. We may move on to the other bars, or, if people are comfy and having a good time, just stay put in the Promenade Lounge.

Feel free to imbibe whatever you want, be it water, soda or something stronger.

I look forward to meeting you!

Looks adorable - I much prefer it to the "wedge"... and yes you can ship a box to our state room - I won't be sending anything ahead.

I too - have to call the bank and Disney Visa - but I have plenty of time yet... I DID pick up my disposable undersater camera for the snorkeling excursion after a lovely breakfast with my OH-SO fabulous sister and her new hair!

I went round-and-round about buying another camera for under water but decided against it since this year I got my lovely Olympus which I am STILL not used to.

I picked up Faith yesterday from the vet and the poor little thing was so druggy she just wanted to FIGHT going to sleep. Her little head would bounce on the bed... finally she gave up and had a nice rest. She ate this morning after having teeth removed and I got her meds in her - but her poor little face looks a bit swollen today - she's resting though and her Daddy stayed and read in bed with her so she'd be comfy looking out the big window at our back yard (bird watching) in between sleeping. Now that I'm home, all of us are in bed playing "we are shipwrecked" - me on computer, Daddy - reading and nodding off to sleep and Hope looking at me as if to say "MUST YOU USE BOTH HANDS ON THE COMPUTER" - my belly needs to be rubbed...

Ahhhhh the good life. Chores will wait...:)

Good for you!!! :goodvibes I have a hair appointment for Thursday prior to my DIS Girly weekend and that will also be my pre-cruise cut & colour - I've been hiding grey since the age of 19!!! Anyway, I currently have rather long if somewhat flat hair and I'm eager for change so watch this space... ;)

MONICA, I got off my butt and did my credit card. Thank heavens now I can hog my tile lounger and not ask everyone else to pay for it. Oh never mind, I'm still asking LOL :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

It is 96 now in San Jose. Ungodly hot for us here and a bit humid. I think DCL sent us this weather to make us feel at home :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

It feels slightly like Panama Crossing, only not as fun :sad2:

I tried the whole rolling clothes thing one time b/c I saw that you also conserve space by doing that. I don't recall having any wrinkles (actually I'm not even sure I left them rolled), but I swear for me it took up more space than just folding everything like usual. I think I unpacked everything and packed it again like normal and had space to spare.

Me too. ::yes::

I fold and load the suitcases with things in order like file folders in a drawer so that an edge of each item is visible when the suitcase is opened. I can live out of it that way or unpack to a drawer with the same system. No matter what I want I can find it, I do not have to layer things in the order I will be wearing them.

I do not think we own anything that needs to be pressed or dry cleaned except for DH's suits. Even his dress shirts are wash and wear. Get them on a hanger out of the dryer and they are fine. If I did iron them, they would look the same once they were put on, so why iron? :confused3
