September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Not so my dear, you saw Cheri's videos, videos of us, not videos we've taken. Believe me, you'd remember, because you wouldn't be able to sleep due to the nightmare. There's a video we did in Epcot which was an "In Search Of" that we did especially for Cheri.

I looked at an 80 GB Wolverine today on Amazon, which is a device just for off-loading photos from cards. It's much smaller and lighter than a laptop. About the size of a cigarette pack. I just thought it would be cheaper to drag our little prehistoric iBook with us. There was supposed to be a new Mac notebook in the cards this fall, but that's a purchase I may be delaying.

Oh, gotacha - standing corrected.

I need some help from all of you experienced cruisers! For the St. Thomas stop, we are wanting to go on our own to a nice beach but can't figure out which one is best. I've heard that St. John is much more beautiful but also heard that the ferry there is an hour and usually causes people trouble. Does anyone have any suggestions on a nice beach for kids to play and swim? Not interested in snorkeling...just want a beach area that is clean, not crowded, and fairly easy to get to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I've heard that Saphire Beach is lovely, but I don't remember any details about facilities and such.

A good source of info is on the ports of call forum on cruisecritic's web site. And I'll see if I can find the link for the DISboards info.

I'm not telling - but I'm a bit stressed because I only got "one" per room - not one per person... do you think I should get something separate for Dianne?

Well, since I don't know what it is....I can't say. Perhaps you can PM one of our friends and ask for guidance. I suggest Cheri since she has met Dianne. :thumbsup2

(I planned on letting her have the Castaway Club stateroom gift, fyi)

Hey;....did you get something for Jill's mom? If not, why don't we go together and get her some flowers....or something?! (I think flowers are a nice touch for an inside cabin for some reason)

No I didn't get her anything - but yes let's do that. I'm sure she'd enjoy flowers and we could put something on the card like "Glad you have you in the family - welcome aboard"... ?:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 I like the little bowl of pink roses. ::yes:: Or we can find out her favorite flower(s) and get something from Shirley!

Just saw on the parks forum that WDW tickets go up this weekend (don't know if it's tomorrow or Sunday). Glad I bought mine already :thumbsup2

That's all well and good, but seriously, what are the real gifts?

Good Morning Tortolians.....the wheels have been set in motion and arrangements are in process for setting up our Champagne Girls tasting. Now I'm really, really getting excited.

We have a total of 23 ladies attending. If anyone wants to attend and did not yet receive an email from me, please PM me and I will add you to our little gathering.

DH John helped me go over the list of DCL champagnes as provided by Jackie in a link to DCL gifts. Thanks again Jackie. Perfect timing. We determined how many bottles of what we will need. We will be purchasing 4 bottles from DCL and bringing 4 bottles onboard with us....two of which will be provided by Jackie and two provided by me and John. I'm going to have DCL charge my KTTW card for all the expenses and I will charge $5 or $10 at the door in cash, depending on whether you are a sipper or a taster. Honorary Members are welcome and will be free of charge. Tiaras and Boas will be handed out at the door when you check in. I have requested a sommelier to teach us about the different champagnes that we will be tasting.

We are going to have such a great time. Five more weeks until me and John hit the road. I can't wait. I'm so very excited for this trip to get here.

Woohoo, good job Deb!!:thumbsup2

Even though we got off to a rocky start with the audio/video set up and problems last time.....we did have SUCH a great time once it got rolling. This time we won't have any of those issues since we'll have a person to handle all of that. It will be much better.

I think I'm going to need some assistants at the check in table. Monica are you up for handing out boas and tiaras again? I'll check you in on the list and collect the cash. Then we'll give you a name tag and a pink furry boa and a pink furry tiara....nice! We are going to look so sweet! Wait until you all see our mascot, Sassy Bubbles....aka Cheri. Don't forget your wings this time....haha. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Then we'll all go take naps afterwards so that we can gather again at 10:00 pm in the Promenade Lounge for Shots Around The Ship. That's the way to start up our cruise on our first sea day. Oh what fun.:woohoo::yay::dance3:

Is that a fan club?

Woody

Hi Woody!! Does Mrs. Woody want to come and be a champagne girl with us? I know she likes to chill and relax on cruises and she tries to avoid activities, but maybe she will want to make an exception and join us? Jackie, Peg and Cheri will be there. She knows all of them and me. :rolleyes1

Deb, I'm bringing two bottles of the SAME sparkling wine. Because it's such a favorite, I wanted there to be enough to go around. Just wanted to make sure you weren't thinking two different kinds to taste. I even called the ABC liquors near WDW to make sure they carried it and he told me to call back a couple of days before I got there to make sure he didn't need to have any sent up from the warehouse. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to share some Rosa Regale with the DIS gals!

.

So, are you Ian's personal fan, or is it Cheri??:lmao:

Oh you silly girl! While I am an afficianado of my good friend Mr. H, I was referring to a hand held, battery powered fan used to keep your face cool while standing in those long WDW attraction lines in the September heat and humidity. :thumbsup2

Must remember to find out what kind of batteries are required so I can pick up a supply.
