September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Guess who got to stay at BLT last night.

We also finally got to book our room. It will be GTY status until we get there, but we will make sure our # is known

Also I would be a whale, because I don't look good in a sea shell bra

How did you get to stay there already? It doesn't open until Tuesday?

Monica (mishoe01) might get to stay there tonight!

Mermaid or Whale?

Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said,

“THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?”

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman in the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

“To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends - dolphins, sea lions, curious humans. They have an active sex life, and they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with all their sea friends. They play and swim in the seas of the world, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Bering Sea, and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans.
They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone and everything in the world.

Mermaids, on the other hand, don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They wouldn’t have sex lives because stories tell that they kill men who get close to them. Besides, how could they have sex? Just look at them...where is IT? Therefore, they wouldn’t have kids either. And what man would want to get close to a girl who smells like a fish market?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.”

We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my daughter, a delicious piece of chocolate with my friends, and a good dinner with my man who makes me shiver. With time, we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads. When there is no more room in our heads, the information and wisdom distribute out to the rest of our bodies.

So we aren't heavy! We are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror, I will think, “Good grief, just look how smart I am!”

I like this!!

Put me down as a whale please!

Right now it is in Cast Member test stays.

I liked it, but their were some minor things I would change like a themostat in every room( we were in a two bedroom and only the living room had a themostat for thhe whole suite). I also couldnt find the channel that was suposed to have the fireworks music in synch with the fireworks.

All in all I enjoyed it

We will be staying there postcruise. Can't wait! I have a couple questions.
Best area to see fireworks from rooms
does it have it's own pool, with waterslide
do you check in at Contemporary?
Thanks! Glad you liked it.

We'll be staying in a dedicated 2bdr in Nov. Sounds like we might have to do some playing around with that thermostat.

Where is the internet hookup in the 2bdr? Or (wishful thinking) did it have in room wifi?

BLT does have it's own pool complete with water slide. It's a beautiful pool. There's pics of it on allearsnet.com.

From what I've heard you do have to check in over at the Contemporary.

Hi All....we're leaving on the 8th....I'm so excited, I just can't wait. We don't have much to do....just fill out the forms online and pack.

This weekend I will get the ball rolling to organize the champagne girls. So I'll be letting you know very soon all the details.:cutie:

Jackie.....thank you for the new gift items on the DCL website. I was going to ask for a list of champagnes that DCL carries and now I don't have to. They are all listed. I'll talk it over with John and we'll decide how many of what bottles we'll order onboard and what we'll stop for in Cocoa Beach and just carry on with us.

Monica and Ian....I have brunch scheduled for Thursday at 11:00. We should sit next to each other and take over Palo's.

I have high tea and brunch ressies at Palo's but only for 1-2 people. When I went back into the system to add more people for each, they said none available. I'm going to get on line to see PJ when we board to add more people to my Palo parties. I'm sure it will not be a problem once we're onboard. The main thing was to get the ressies.

The best places to see the fireworks are from Top of the World and if you have a Magic Kingdom view: your balcony is best

Love that song - love all the Simon & Garfunkel songs...now you've got me singing...
Welcome to Friday and Music to Dream By.

Once again, brought to you by Deck 5 aft elevator area:

"All in a Golden Afternoon"

thanks Ian - the sound was a bit low on my laptop so I had to listen with my head on my speakers - but it was worth it.
:welcome:Garry! (and Vicki too)

Finishing up my signs - putting magnets on back - and this job would be complete if I'd stop finding more cute blank designs and creating more... we'll probably have a new door sign each day at this rate... but I want the entire family to have some matching ones, as well as some designed just for them!:thumbsup2
