September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

I would have loved the luxury of Motorhoming!

We generally camped for a week at a time, and picked a new location every year so we could experience new things. One year we set up the tent for the week, but drove to Ottawa from our camping site for a 3 day hotel stay in the middle of the week so we could explore that area and tour the Parliament buildings :thumbsup2 That was my favourite camping trip ;)
.
My church youth group had a canoe trip through the Rideau Lakes each summer. The last day on the water we set up camp at what I think was a city park in Smith's Falls, played 9 pins and in the morning packed our canoes and geer, drove to Ottawa for a couple hours before heading home. I remember getting fish and chips but do not think we had time to tour Parliment--or else we were there the wrong day. Wish we had been able to--the outside looked tremendous.

Just want to let every one know I will be sending the FE list out this weekend. I am waiting for head count on 5 people who signed up but didn't state how many. We are sitting on 51 adults and 21 children right know. I am expecting the final count to be around 61 adults and a few more children. I do have some one list (Ig3) but I can't send a PM so if you see this let me know the head count. This list is from the survey and those who PM'd me.

As people get there room numbers let me know. I will send room numbers a little closer to cruise time.

That's lg3 (not I), so that may be why you can't PM. See post above.

I can tell you iankh is 2 people.

Cabin 5013 has no name (2A 2C) ???

Can you also determine how many CABINS it is for crushonjessica and how many people are in each cabin that are participating in the exchange? (Some of us are doing 'cabin' gifts, so we need to know this.)

Thanks!

I'm glad I picked up on the cabin with no name, this time around.

Cabin 5013 does have a name associated with it on the FE list I send. But I do not feel right posting it publicly.

So with 8 weeks to go (or less) what do you STILL have to do to get ready (and I don't mean packing....we all gotta do that!).
We went to the dollar store and got another pop up laundry hamper.

I have to check with Delta (we used SkyMiles) to find out their luggage requirements.

Don't know if you saw this, but it might a good idea / back up plan for changes to room assignments.

You can always suggest having a "cabin relocation plan" for the FE exchange on your meet thread.

On our last cruise the FE organizer asked that everyone stop by her cabin sometime embarkation day to leave a note about any room changes. Her family delivered FE gifts the first night, so she just left a note with all the cabin changes when she made deliveries. That worked out really well.
Some of you may recall that on the 2008 WB PC repo, we had some whiteboards for DIS updates and messages.

Message examples:
"Smith Family (Goofy's Pal) from cabin 2450 to 6618,"
"Extra seat for Palo brunch, Chris 2018,"
"DIS group photo Tuesday at 1:00, Atrium,"
"I need to borrow a battery charger for Canon PowerShot."

Yes, I think there was one 'monitor' on each deck, so folk on that deck could write their notes. Did the 'monitor' then go and write on the other decks' monitor's boards?

Don't remember Marilyn, but I don't think this will be an issue for a group this small. As long as anyone who has changes lets disneylove69 know, she can post something on her door. So FE folks would just want to check her door for changes before starting their distribution.

Who wants to go to WDW with this family? What fun!

enjoy......

LOVED the video!!! I watched it three times. Once by myself, then I had to show it my kids, then they wanted me to show it to DH too! I wish our family would do something like that! Maybe I could coordinate with our extended family trip next May and not really tell them why I want to videotape them singing the same song--it would be hilarious! Any song ideas? :rotfl2:

On another note:rolleyes1, I just ordered my magnet paper and fish extender gifts! :yay:
Also bought our MNSSHP tickets and even next year's AP's before the prices go up (if they go up!) It's been a very Disney weekend. But it usually is! :)

Diagnosis is B cell grade one lymphoma. From talking to the doctor it seems like that was the best we could have hoped for at this point. Harry has to see a specialist and get more tests done and then start treatment. We will just take one day at a time for now.

Harry is off getting a haircut. He is really feeling down figuring that will be his last one before chemo. Glad we have a busy weekend. We are going to a birthday party this afternoon and a family reunion tomorrow.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone else is well! Will let you know if we will be cruising when we know. At this point I kind of doubt it.:confused3 We shall see.

Donna

Keeping Harry and you, Donna, in my thoughts and prayers

The second in our series "Background Music to Dream By" ... Deck 5, aft near the elevators. When I hear this I always imagine wandering on the ship.

Play this from YouTube and imagine are having a nice exploration of the ship and happen to be on Deck 5, Aft.

So with 8 weeks to go (or less) what do you STILL have to do to get ready (and I don't mean packing....we all gotta do that!).

I still have to decide if I'm going to pre-pay tips/excursion and if I'm going to buy a Disney gift card instead of carrying a mess of cash (mostly for the WDW portion of the trip). I need to do this before my August billing closes for Disney Visa, so that I can use the rewards on the trip.

I will have to do some trying on of clothes and determine what may need to be purchased. Will wait for the 30 day mark for this.

I will need to arrange to have my mail held by the post office....anyone remember the timing in which should be done?

Some FE work stil needs to be done as well as lanyard team payment arranged.

I have to decide if I'm having anything shipped to the ship (or resort).

Still have to work out the details of getting to the airport for departure...and where will Cheri be?

OMG...Cheri....I just had a scathingly brilliant idea for that!

Get park tickets

Put hold on Mail (thanks for that Jackie - I wouldn't have remembered that part)

Get smaller to fit into NEW clothes better!

Order gifts (not sure what, or to whom, but I will be doing something)

Finish getting magnets on backs of all signs I've made:wizard:

Try and remember where I'm going, with whom and when...:sad2:

Can you also determine how many CABINS it is for crushonjessica and how many people are in each cabin that are participating in the exchange? (Some of us are doing 'cabin' gifts, so we need to know this.)

There will be two cabins traveling together. In one cabin there will be my FIL and MIL. This will be their first experience with FE.

In the second cabin will be Myself, Wife, and my 1yo dauhter ( The Mad Rose herself).

We don't have cabin number's yet because of our GTY status so as soon as I get them I will let the board know.

Also did you know on the main board for cruise meets, only our first thread is listed. Any new members would have to go through all of the post to realize there are more waiting for them. Who do we contact to add our other two threads?

Thanks for meeting me for lunch - I've already forgotten the item I was supposed to add... do you remember? Geez:rolleyes1

Was it finishing your on-line paperwork? And printing signature sheet.....
