September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Hey,

Just sent an email to all those on the FE list. This should get you started. When I hear back from those who didn't give head count I will send another message.

Thanks :)

Wow! Great deal at CI&S. We booked it online and paid the rack rate. :sad2:

Let us know how you do with your rental car. I think I'll be trying Priceline for that too it's the last thing we have to book.

Try rebooking CI&S, I just did it tonight and got it at that rate for Cape Canaveral off Hotwire.

I did a rental car thru Enterprise (MCO to Cape Canaveral) on Sept 11 (return on Sept 12, obviously!) using coupon code JDBXYX and getting it for $31.52 otd (out the door).

For the return we did the rental thru Avis (Cape Canaveral to Hilton Hotel at WDW) on Sept 19 (return on Sept 20, a 23 hr rental) using coupon code Q335700 and getting it for $43.33 otd. Got the codes from rentalcodes.com. Good Luck!

No this is at Cape Canaveral at 9009 Astronaut Dr. I'm really excited about the rate. :cool1:

Deb, is this the one you're staying at? If so you might want to rebook it thru Hotwire.

No, we're staying in Cocoa Beach on the ocean. We have been there many times before and like it. Plus we know the neighborhood. I get my mani/pedi done, John runs errands and does the banking, Ron Jon is right there and we always go in there. I'm keeping my ressie. Thanks for thinking of me though.....very nice of you!;)

Ok, some of you beat me to it, but I sill like seeing this up...

HEY TORTOLANS
Countdown Time!

:cool1::cool1:8 WEEKS TO GO:cool1::cool1:

LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!

WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!

So with 8 weeks to go (or less) what do you STILL have to do to get ready (and I don't mean packing....we all gotta do that!).

I still have to decide if I'm going to pre-pay tips/excursion and if I'm going to buy a Disney gift card instead of carrying a mess of cash (mostly for the WDW portion of the trip). I need to do this before my August billing closes for Disney Visa, so that I can use the rewards on the trip.

I will have to do some trying on of clothes and determine what may need to be purchased. Will wait for the 30 day mark for this.

I will need to arrange to have my mail held by the post office....anyone remember the timing in which should be done?

Some FE work stil needs to be done as well as lanyard team payment arranged.

I have to decide if I'm having anything shipped to the ship (or resort).

Still have to work out the details of getting to the airport for departure...and where will Cheri be?

OMG...Cheri....I just had a scathingly brilliant idea for that!

I told Sukie this evening that in a few weeks we must start trying on clothing and accoutrements. I have some costume adjustments to make.

He got confused and thought I was talking about clothing. I told him that clothing had nothing to do with costumes.

We tent camped for about 6 yrs. We have some great memories, but I sure was happy when my parents had their cottage in PEI built and we got to progress to trips out east, a few days in a hotel somewhere new followed by a week at their cottage :thumbsup2 We did continue to do weekend tent camps for some time though:goodvibes

We considered camping to be a portable motel.

We hardly ever camped some place for more than a couple days except Fort Wilderness.

Motorhoming was easier since we did not have a tent to take down every morning and gear so stow before moving on.

Besides no sand and pine needles, when Tom got insomnia, he could start driving and if the boys were asleep it made no difference. :drive:

Diagnosis is B cell grade one lymphoma. From talking to the doctor it seems like that was the best we could have hoped for at this point. Harry has to see a specialist and get more tests done and then start treatment. We will just take one day at a time for now.

Harry is off getting a haircut. He is really feeling down figuring that will be his last one before chemo. Glad we have a busy weekend. We are going to a birthday party this afternoon and a family reunion tomorrow.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone else is well! Will let you know if we will be cruising when we know. At this point I kind of doubt it.:confused3 We shall see.

Donna, I am so sorry to hear about Harry's diagnosis, even though I know you were kind of anticipating this. You and Harry will be in our prayers as you fight this together. God bless you both.

Donna, thanks for letting us know. I'm glad you have plenty to keep you occupied this weekend and hope you both have a good time.

Harry and You are in my prayers too as you battle this. Don't give up on the cruise yet.:grouphug:

:grouphug: Well, WE ARE KEEPING YOU ON PAGE 1 POST 2 !!

And we expect you to come so you can head up the Old Geezer's cookies and milk events with Marilyn and John. (No one volunteered so I am making an assumption..... ) :confused3

Best wishes, good thoughts, hugs and prayers as you walk a new road. Let us know how we can help :thumbsup2

Don't know if you saw this, but it might a good idea / back up plan for changes to room assignments.

You can always suggest having a "cabin relocation plan" for the FE exchange on your meet thread.

On our last cruise the FE organizer asked that everyone stop by her cabin sometime embarkation day to leave a note about any room changes. Her family delivered FE gifts the first night, so she just left a note with all the cabin changes when she made deliveries. That worked out really well. :thumbsup2

I would have loved the luxury of Motorhoming!

We generally camped for a week at a time, and picked a new location every year so we could experience new things. One year we set up the tent for the week, but drove to Ottawa from our camping site for a 3 day hotel stay in the middle of the week so we could explore that area and tour the Parliament buildings :thumbsup2 That was my favourite camping trip ;)

Donna and Harry, you are in my thoughts and prayers! :grouphug:

I have to admit I have been out of touch and I missed the survey. :sad1:
Is it all through PM's now? thanks. :flower3:

Most important is to PM mishoe01 regarding lanyards and disneylove69 regarding FE RIGHT AWAY! As those things require ordering/making.
