There is a dolphin FISH and a dolphin MAMMAL. People swim with the mammal. We eat the fish. Well, not me, I don't like fish, but people who like fish eat it. It may actually be the fish we now call Mahi-mahi since it got such a bad reputation when people thought restaurants were selling the mammal dolphin.

If you look at the fish on top of the DOLPHIN hotel at WDW--it is a fish, not the mammal kind. So the hotel is named for the FISH.

Feel better Marilyn?

This makes ME feel better :lmao: Thanks for that info!

I've eaten the mahi mahi a couple of times over in WDW and it is very nice indeed. I did know they call it the dolphin fish. Not sure what this would be though. I'm presuming that you are correct as I haven't heard of anyone eating dolphin before(unless stranded on a desert island I suppose!!;)0;);)

So we now have turtle soup and grilled dolphin!!

Yeh,, it looks like DCL is offering some killer OBC's for new bookings. Which is smart (for them). If they lowered prices or offered discounts, existing reservations could be altered to lower rates, this way the rates stay the same, just the perks improve. Wish I could take advantage of a spur of the moment 7 day cruise with $900 in OBC (when booked thru DU)! Heck, I'm pretty sure I couldn't SPEND $900 on the ship...at least not by myself! :lmao:

Oh, I could....no problem.....just me.....excursions, spas, shopping, BBCs, Shutters and Internet.....easy!

Yea, but the turtle soup is a real turtle....which just makes me cringe....and the grilled dolphin is just a fish.

Do we know which dock we're going to in St Thomas?

I may be kind of late with this, but could someone explain the WoW with Ian?
I'm thinking this is a walking club type thing. Is there a when and where?

I'm going to toddle off to slumberland shortly too. I have to go into the office for four hours tomorrow to work a 'phone bank'. I may show up in my jammies! At lest I'll be getting overtime for it...so that's more cruise money. :woohoo:

Next vacation planning step: put together a suggested dining list for WDW for my brother-in-law and encourage them to make at least a couple of ADRs for their post cruise stay. Their 90 day window is one week from now. He enjoys different/ethnic foods and I just don't want to see him having to live off of counter service. Free dining pretty much makes ADRs mandatory (at least a couple anyway).

Good luck trying to get him to join you in any Disney discussions ... however, YOU may have better luck than I have - although re: food he's pretty open to talking - ... would you be up to trying that? :wizard:

Hi,
Yes, I was the one. It's doing better, still have some restricted movements, but I had a great dr, and a wonderful occupational therapist who
specialized in hands and wrists.
I'm sorry it's not 100% - that is rough, I have a finger that doesn't work 100% but at least I can still type...:rotfl:
No, one should alway consider the element of surprise when making an entrance. In this information age, people simply don't understand the element of surprise anymore.

I'm certain that both Louis XIV and Alice Longworth Roosevelt understood these (Well let's face it, any of the Edwardians understood this, though Louis XIV was to the best of my knowledge not Edwardian).

It's bad enough that two of the ensembles have been seen before.

Though I will say that we will have real bow ties with our tuxes. Ever since I learned how to tie a real bow tie last year (thank you You Tube) I have become a snob.

Then I shiver with anticipation...
Ian....you crack me up! And yes, you are correct, Louis XIV was not an Edwardian...:lmao:

Kathe, we can check with Peg when she wakes up, but I'm sure she was able to book and excursion for herself (CC member) and her cabin mate (DH, first time cruiser) last night. And yes, she was able to book only Palo for the first time cruiser cabin that was linked to hers.

Yes I was able to book my DH even though this is his first time... although with my slow response you probably already know this by now. I'm still trying to catch up from Sunday - since I was locked in my house, watching movies with a sick tummy... all better today though and back on my program YIPEE!!!

I have begun creating door signs and laminating them. Now I've found Mickey (etal) envelopes for our personalized "thank you" for tips! Really cute - found them on TheMouseforLess.com site.

You can download stroller tags (which I modified for luggage tags) as well!

Fun stuff - now I need to get busy packing for my trip to NC on Thursday!:surfweb:

I apologize in advance but I can't seem to find when the DIS meet is going to be on embarkation day? I don't see it on Page 1. TIA! :goodvibes

Dolphin Fish... That's why at the Swan & Dolphin hotel, the "dolphin" looks like a big fat fancy goldfish ;)

LANYARDS!!!

Ok peeps - I am willing to look into this to see what we can do for this lovely cruise.

Please PM me if your interested -- let me know how many you'd want then I can try to get an idea on cost. :thumbsup2

I don't think we've selected an official time and meeting place. My vote ALWAYS goes to Promonade Lounge at 3PM. :thumbsup2

It's in out of the heat, with plenty of chairs and a waiter and bar tender and air conditioning. Some groups meet by the kids or family pool or up on deck 10, but it's very hard for a group of any size to congregate, few places to sit and often difficult to hear. If we are passing out laynards and things like that, that seems to be easier to do inside too.

I'll be glad to toss in cash for this, if we decide to go that route. Having the laynards as a group FE gift sure is easier than trying to collect money from everyone, don't cha think?

Check with Kelly on where she got the WBPC ones, they sure were comfortable. (I'm sure you already thought of that.)

.....lunch over...back to work...

Hadn't thought that far yet :lmao::rotfl:

I'll see how many we're looking at then I can get an idea of cost & make a decision then.

Well, as I have absolutely no idea what to give as FE gifts, I would be delighted to join a few others with this. Otherwise I had better get thinking.

I Vote YES for 3pm Promenade Lounge. Who else?
