Deb - I have you, Cheri, & Kathe sitting w/ Nan & I (plus my non-dis friends) & will have our ressies linked up after the 90 day mark. I figure if we then link ressies w/ Ian & Sukie, Marilyn & John, Kaz & Dick (if they want) & Jackie & clan then we should all be around each other & can table hop if we want to :goodvibes

It sounds like Sukie and I are still chopped liver.

NEVER!! Wasn't sure if you were comfortable sitting w/ non-disers :lmao:

So we're not chopped liver, eh? And I suppose that now we're pate?

We still don't have tablemates, so that means we are now going to make complete strangers miserable.

Just discussed the details with Mr CustardTart and he wants us to sit with everyone else! And there was I hoping for dining room anonymity - typical man!!! :lmao::rotfl::lmao: Nah, not really!!! I love you all!!!

So I'm thinking we should try and get a h-u-g-e table - shall I request this at the 105 days via the land concierge team??? Let me know what you all think... xxx

PS: Just watched the season finale of Lost and I'm feeling a little sad and confused... :sad2:

Your help (that is the concierge team's) could come in handy for us trying to get all the DIS tables on the same rotation (PLAPLAP) and in the same 'cluster'. Jan and I, for instance, both have 'family' tables, but I want to be near our DIS pals too! (can't speak for Jan)

Regarding LOST....it's a whole new ball game now!

Island big picture: opening segment...Jacob and his counterpart...one in black, one in white. One pro 'mankind and free will', the other thinks it always leads to fighting and destruction. Early segment in season one, Locke on the beach with Walt, explaing backgammon and that it was a 5,000 year old game...two sides, dark and light. Another segment, Jack & Kate find the 'Adam & Eve' bodies at the caves, they have a pouch with one black stone and one white stone. Also in the finale Jacob came to Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, Sayid and Jin & Sun at some point in their lives (usually a turning point) and touched them or gave them something...as if he's 'marked' them to come to the island. All I can say is, CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT SEASON>

Big day for us! I made the final payment on the cruise.

I also had an excellent travel insurance shopping experience.

I was going to use insuremytrip and could not decide on a coverage, so I did some research on the web. I found an article and at the end of it, was something that talked about insuremytrip.com and something that talked about tripinsurancestore.com.

I looked at tripinsurancestore and their site had a ton of information. They also listed what was good about an insurance company and their "quibbles" about the company.

I phoned them, and got excellent service and some clarifications. I mean it was really good service and interpretation of the rules, not just reading back to me what I could read for myself.

The result was that I did not overbuy and got what I really needed.

It's rare that I'm so enthusiastic about a company and their service (just ask Jackie or Cheri).

So, now we are all set for this trip.

Although we're still chopped liver and will be making some poor strangers miserable on their cruise.

We are qualified strangers, and we too enjoy making poor strangers miserable and uncomfortable in most any situation. Perhaps we'll be seated near you, and can make a contest of it.

Just called minutes ago, and made our final payment:yay: Bought insurance too through our TA - too lazy to shop around, I guess.

Fellow Tortolans, helps...

OK I am torn.

Originally I had late seating and was waitlisted for main, I had kind of talked myself into late seating and was thinking it might be a nice experience (more relaxed than rushing for the 5.30 seating. The waitlist has come through and we have been switched to main dinner, but I am not sure if I want that now. We are from the West coast so are on PST (3 hours behind FL) and it may feel as though we are eating mid afternoon, we usually don't eat dinner until 7.00-7.30pm here. However we do have 2 kids 5 & 9.

What do you think?

Should I take the main dining or switch back to late???

I know I want to request PLA rotation :-)

I look at it this way, making someone else miserable doesn't necessarily make me happy, but it does increase the quantity of happiness particles in the universe, thereby allowing more potential happiness for others.

OK, as of today and final payment, now this trip has become real.

Kay,

When do you arrive in Florida?

What was your rationale for wanting the earlier seating in the first place? Does that rationale still apply?

Glad you had a good experience w/ the ins - rare to have good CS.

I'm hijacking you (or I guess it'd be kidnapping you) and keeping you hostage at my table (if that's ok w/ you). Just pm me your res cf and I'll link us all together once the night of the fishes comes & goes.

1st thing I'd recommend is DON"T change it back to late until you're sure that's what you want to do. It's usually a lot easier to change to late than it is to confirm main.

I've always gone with late dining as to not have to worry about cutting my day short - especially if at a port - to rush back for dinner. Bear in mind that I've never sailed w/ kids. 1 bad thing about late dining is that you have a tendancy to be late for any deck parties/shows (like Pirate night - I've never seen the beginning of that show).

None of that probably help :lmao::rotfl: Sorry if I confused you more :rotfl2:

:sad2::sad2::sad2:

So, the FIVE THOUSAND PM's I've sent you over the last few months didn't do it, eh?

Thanks for the insurance info, I'll be checking them out.

Kay, one late seating advantage may be that you go to the early shows and then the kids want to do evening activities at the clubs.

As Ian points out, if you've been in FL a couple of days before the cruise, you are more acclimated (sp?) to the time change, however.

see...not much help here either......

Glad to see I wore down your resistance. Sukie's techniques work. That's how he got a new iMac.

I'll PM you the res number.

I'm taking oldest dd on a 3 night Carnival cruise to the Bahamas in a few weeks. Dh told me I should go somewhere for a couple days without the kids (still end up taking one, go figure) because he got to be away for so long...
Anyway- has anyone ever done a Carnival cruise? Are they really totally party ships? Will I have to chain her to my wrist? She's a very good girl, but a little naive, I think...

I haven't but my sister has - To be honest she said it was a total nightmare - crazy and wild kids everywhere. You have to take into account she doesn't have any kids herself. This was a few years ago though. How old is your dd?
