oh my gosh I can't believe the ship is full. I'm actually shocked. I figured after last year's hurricane season people would be scared away.

Have any of you experienced dcl cruiser ever been on a totally full ship? Does this mean we're going to have long lines for pics and characters etc.?

I forget that there will be more then just disboard members on the cruise. I keep thinking it is just all of us on this huge boat.

I have sailed with an almost full ship before. It IS crowded, but there is still plety of room. Yes, there may be some longer lines or characters, longer waits for computers or gym equiptment, and, as we've all seen, harder times gettig ressies for Palo, the spa and excursions. But even with the ship full, people are pretty spread out. Days in port are especially nice onboard because the ship empties out and nothing is very busy.

Well, I just called DCL and the rep told me that my docs have not even gone out yet. The reason for this is that DU originally booked a set of rooms as a "group reservation," but then it was changed and reservations was not informed. So, for some reasons, the docs hadn't gone out yet. She said she would send them two day air tomorrow.

So, not thrilled about the information about Dreams Unlimited, but at least now I know my docs are coming since I went hunting them down.

I suggest anyone else that might have booked with DU give DCL a call and pick the option for "Cruise documentation" and speak to the rep to make sure your docs are being mailed.

I had a question regarding the kids club. Our son is 2 1/2 yrs old and therefore can't participate as he would need to be 3 and toilet trained but can either my wife or myself take him to the club to play or participate if we supervised him? (just for like an hour or so)

Ooh, good question. I've called DCL with questions that I wasn't able to find out myself. You might want to give 'em a call (800-951-3532).

Seems like I've heard that this is OK, they may even have scheduled "family play" times.

Yes, you can take your son to the Club to play, as long as you stay with him. Get a copy of the Club navigator so that you will know what they are doing at any given time of the day.
He will really enjoy climbing on the pirate ship!

Oddly enough the fires that were just over the weekend were about 10 minutes drive from our house, we live on the Westside of Kelowna where the fires where. We actually went to Vancouver that weekend and when we got home we had calls from family/friends asking if we were ok and if the fires were close to us....at first we had no idea what was going on as we were away....scary thing to be so close to all this. All is well now as there was some rain yesturday which helped to contain the fires.

I tend to book VERY close to sailing time when I go, I get some great deals that way. It's never a problem since they have you in the computer and everything anyway. If you have your booking number and go online, you can even fill out the stuff online and print it anyway. I did this even though I have my docs. Sometimes they are a little difficult to write on and read after I'm done with them LOL
So if you have fears, just go on there and you can have everything done. Should the docs show up in time, you're still head of the game.

I wasn't so much worried about the docs themselves... I've seen them online and could do that in a pinch, but we have the DCL transfers and I really want to have my luggage tags before we set off

Friday, Sept. 16th
at 10:45pm in the Promenade Lounge right after "Until We Meet Again" to say good-bye. (sniff)

We were definitely planning to attend the Saturday meetup - sounds like there really isn't anyone for the Sunday meetup currently.

Just got home from a 6 day design workshop - now I can focus all my attention on our upcoming vacation.

Wow. Can't believe the ship is full. That's really surprising. No offense to all of us lovely folks ... but I figured this time of year with school starting and whatnot there would be less of a crowd. My partner and I always go to WDW this time of year, no lines! At least we'll get to meet plenty of new people.

Yes, I am hoping there will be no hurricane/weather interferences.
God, we need a vacation SOOOO bad!!!
