Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

My TA called a bit ago and he was able to get us 30% off our two GF CL rooms!! Woohoo!! Finally, I can get some sleep tonight. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders :-)
 
We'll be there 10/26 through 11/3. Bummed that there will be no free dining, but if I can get a discount on the room, I'll take it! Like you, the kids are too excited to switch to a different resort.

:cheer2: Thank you for not making me feel crazy for staying at AoA just because the kids are excited and if I am being honest I am pretty excited too! We were originally booked in a nemo suite but by the time my TA got through those were gone so Cars Suite it is! :dance3: I think I will keep this my little secret so the kids will be surprised when we get to the room! :cool1:
 
Spent an hour on hold at 3:00 this afternoon and finally changed my reservation from WL woods view to Poly standard for 11/30-12/6. We are super excited as we have always wanted to stay at the Poly!

When all was said and done I was able to save about $320 at WL when compared to my previous reservation that had a AAA discount. I had to do two reservations to cover the trip, one with a AAA discount and one with the room only discount, because we are traveling around Thanksgiving. The CM linked the reservations so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will not have to change rooms.

I normally just lurk around here, but I'm so excited I just wanted to share. We originally had a WL woods view room for 12/1 - 12/5, but our wonderful TA got us a courtyard view room for a couple hundred less.

Just FYI: Travelocity had it for about $70 less, but I went with the TA since she already put so much effort into helping us out. Plus, I can put it on our Disney Visa and do the whole 6 months 0% APR

I am officially Disney obsessed...
 
Finally was able to get through to WDW and take advantage. He mentioned to me on the phone in his 9 years working for Disney this was the craziest it has been. The pickings are getting very slim. The only CL I was able to get was the YC and AKL; both are nice but too far out of the way for this particular trip. I had him look up the Poly and the only thing available was a standard view and not much at the CR either. The GF had a lagoon view but I'm not very excited about staying at the GF.

So what did I do? I decided to drop down from WL CL (not available) to the WL courtyard view. The savings was just way, way, way, way too much. Did I say it was way too much. :lmao: The savings was almost $600 over what it would have cost me with a courtyard view and saved me $1453 by dropping CL. Love CL, but for that much money I decided to give it up.

Here is the interesting thing. My arrival date of Nov. 29th to the best of my knowledge was not available for the free dining and the 30% didn't open up until the 30th. The CM on the phone told me the discount was available for me and I do believe he said FD. Either way, I received the discount and while I gave up CL to do it I'm very happy with the savings. :goodvibes

You're very lucky to have gotten that Poly standard room for those dates... I have been stalking the booking website all day trying to get the first week of December in a Poly standard room, & no dice! Someone must have cancelled just before you called! I hope I get lucky too. :-)
 
I managed to get a WL CV bunk beds room for 11/30-12/7. I did it online at about 12:30am. I will continue to try to change to a room without bunk beds, but i am glad I was able to get something.Availability was definitely limited.


Same thing happened to us today - I was online and saw the Woods View available but when I called back (and surprisingly didn't stay on hold for more than 3 minutes), the Woods View was gone and we had to book a CV. I told my husband that I would try for a cheaper room (because we really don't care what room type we get there) but now he looked at the rooms and wants to stay where we've booked. And he yells at me for spending money! LOL!

Good luck! It will be our first stay at WL so we're excited to have gotten a room!
 
So I'm seeing that a discounted AKL Pool view is an average of $273 a night??? That is way higher than the last 30% off....
 
This is what happened for me. I'd assumed that BC was gone because it wasn't available online, so I was prepared to switch resorts if necessary. But when I called with my existing BC ressie, they just added the RO discount. :)

I called yesterday to have the discount applied to my reservation at the yacht club oct 26 - nov 2nd that I made back in february and the cast member said she could not give me the discount. Im back on hold today to see if I can get a better cast member.

Not really fair that they did not apply the offer to those who already booked?! :confused3

From what I was noticing yesterday you could get a discount at a standard room at the Poly if you checked in on Nov 30 and checked out Dec 6 BUT if you checked in on ANY other day after Nov 30 still checking out Dec 6 (or check in Nov 30 but out before Dec 6) then there was no discount. The discount at the Poly seems to only be available for certain check-in days and only for a full week.

Probably because there are only so many discounted rooms. Even though you have a reservation the discounted rooms were gone. Keep trying...things could change.

If there is no availability for the resort and/or room catagory you have booked previously you can not "just apply" the discount this is why booking before a discount goes "live" does not give you an edge up, rather it lessons the chance of a discount at a particular resort/room since if too many rooms are booked no discount is offered
 
After finally getting a competent cast member this a.m. My second time around was more successful.

We originally had a garden view at the yacht club. we were able to get moved to a pool/lagoon view and we saved approx 600 bucks. So I am glad I received something

However I did write a letter to guest communications to disney this morning. In the past anytime a discount was released and you already had an existing reservation you were given the discount on your current reservation. they always honored the current promotion for existing reservations.. Not sure why things have changed but I feel it's unfair. It was also unfair that any shot I did have of getting the discount on my first reservation the garden view were shattered by having the phone lines being busy all day yesterday.

We have a reservation at the Poly October 19-25 (7 nights). When I called yesterday to see if I could apply the 30% RO or FD I couldn't. The reason was because 2 of the nights - Oct 24 & Oct 25 - there are no rooms available at the Poly; it's sold out. The CM said she couldn't give me the RO discount or FD for only 5 of the 7 nights of my reservation - it's all or nothing. Sure, I could have made a new reservation for 5 nights and gotten the RO discount or FD but then we'd have to move to another resort for the last 2 nights but we don't want to do that. I'll keep calling back and trying....
