Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

Does anyone know the formal/semi formal nights yet? I need to know what to pack.....I know, I know, it's way too early, but not really.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just checked the excursions.....we're doing a winery tour in Halifax and a train ride in St. Johns.

Now all I have to do is pay off this cruise. hahaha. I have until mid June and I think I'm going to take the month to get it paid.....having just come off the Wonder to Hawaii.

The temperatures should be 60s day and 50s night time. I bet the fall folliage will be beautiful.

We haven't decided if we're taking a sedan car service to the port or using our own car and paying to park it for 5 days. Then we're not sure if we're doing one night in a hotel beforehand. If my cousin is out of town I can use his place, but I won't know that until 2 weeks before leaving.

My mom and I will be joining you all on this trip! It'll be a birthday trip for both of us; she's celebrating her 60th (8/3) and I'll be celebrating my 33rd (9/3).

We heard that semi-formal night is night 2 and Pirate night is night 4. Hope that helps!

Any mention of a formal night? BFF and her DH are driving from the west coast and asked me we knew yet since they are not going to pack formal wear if they don't have to!

I spoke with Disney a few months ago and this is the schedule they told me.

Night One - Casual
Night Two - Semi Formal
Night Three - Casual
Night Four - Pirate Night
Night Five - Casual

Like I said, this was a few months ago and I am not sure if they have changed anything. We are not cruising until September so I figured I would wait a few weeks and call back to confirm this. I am also waiting until the people from the first few Canadian cruises come back and post on these boards (hopefully). I am sure we will find out much more from them.

We really would love to do Palo brunch and maybe dinner, so we might bring some formal clothes anyway.

Linda

The shorter cruises do not have a formal night, just a semi-formal night. I'm sure you will see many people that night in cruise casual wear as well.

I was also going to point out that Amtrak has a weight limit and a limit to the number of bags you can take on with you.

We get to book our shore excursions on the 25th. I really wish it had been today because I stayed up last night watching dancing with the stars :happytv:which would have ment only one more hour until booking!:rotfl2: Now I have to stay up tomorrow night as well. DH already told me that I was on my own. Lucky for him we agreed on the shore excursions. Sue

I'll be up with you tonight. Our DGS has an end of school program tomorrow morning. We have to be there at 9 and it's a 40 minute drive. I hope I can stay awake tomorrow.

Hope you survived I did! However when I go back into my reservation I cannot see the specifics of what I booked only that Palos and shoreexursions is booked. I think I am missing something. These screens are different from the ones I booked on in Oct for our Dec 2011 cruise.

ON the page that you can see that info, click on DAY2 (or whatever day you want to see) and you can see what you have booked that day.

I survived! We have Palo brunch and dinner. There were plenty of times available for brunch on both sea days. Palo dinner was available every night. It doesn't look like any of the excursions were full either.

We booked the Ride the Rapids and the Peggy's cove & Titanic excursion.

Someone has mentioned FE's. I am also interested.

This one should at least be less hassle than the Hawaii cruise. I took an extra suitcase just for the goodies.:goodvibes

We signed up for Palo brunch. There were multiple times available. I wonder if this sailing will not be full.

With the tropical storm season targeting the east coast so much, I hope we can keep dry.:thumbsup2
Diane
