The slider is dated 2025, so it seems to be for last year. But maybe they'll have new gift for this year.

It was for having MMB last year because the note said we hope you buy it again.

My guess, and it’s just that, it’s marketing to get people to sign up for year 2, even if they already had!

Maybe we will get them for 2026 too!

Mine showed up today, so they are starting to make their way across the country. I already signed up for 2026 MMB a couple of months ago, but it is a nice little token of appreciation. And yes, my MagicBands need help to keep them from popping off at random times.

I'll be the first to admit that my rose-colored Disney glasses have accumulated a lot of dirt and dust over the last few years, but I think it's all pretty tacky. "Here's something you can't really use because it's last year's news, but also a subtle reminder that it's time to pay up behind the paywall again."

Who's going to actually wear a band from last year? I guess some people will, but why?

Send them when you buy in for the current year. Now that would be a nice gesture. If you think sending a card at the end of the year as a reminder to pay up again is a good idea, you're probably right, especially for anybody sitting on the fence about it.

It's like getting 'free' magic bands in the mail the week after your trip. Gee, thanks.

Free magic bands... remember when that was the norm? Ah, those were the days...

(Full disclosure, yes, we would get way too many bands, and yes, we made a wreath out of some of them (the red and green ones) and we still use many of them for our current trips!)

I use all my sliders. Since I sometimes rotate bands, I don’t have to swap. So, I have the DVC one, a holiday one; cruise one, and now this one.

So, the date being there doesn’t matter at all.

Not sure about every cruise, but apparently they did when we were on the Wonder last summer. And I say ‘apparently’ because I only found out about it yesterday…when our MMB one showed up.

My daughter was very excited and immediately tried to negotiate a trade. Since I’ve never actually bought a slider before, I was confused about where these extras came from. That is, until she casually said, “Oh, the DVC lady gave them to me,” and then proudly revealed three different characters like she’d just hit the merch jackpot.

I’m guessing this all went down while I was deep in serious contemplation over the POLY FW chart, blissfully unaware that important slider business was being conducted next to me.
