We have never been to VB. We are
DVC members and thinking of a quick trip just to check it out in July although being this late there probably is not availabilty. What would be the chances on a waitlist? What would be the best recommendation for a direct ocean view. There used to be a site to view all room/resorts but I cannot remember what that is. There would be 2 adults, 2 children and 1 grandma (which might need her space at the end of the day) lol So thinking of a 1 BR or possibly 2 BR lockoff? What do I book on the DVC site to get these rooms with ocean view? Is there anywhere to view their daily activities for kids? Also looking for menu's and dining options on-site. We will have a car because probably would fly into Sanford and drive there. Any info is appreciated. Thank you
The best recommendation would be the inn rooms with a guaranteed ocean view or the beach cottages...
I think if you had a room on the upper floors of the villa buildings you might get to see some ocean, but certainly nothing on the first floor... Even then, you would probably need the ones on the eastern wall.
The daily activities are limited, but fun. Typically there is a free craft every day, a trivia game on the pool deck, a mini-golf course that surrounds the pool, bike rentals (I think they might be at no cost?), there often is a premium craft similar to the types of things that they do at BLT Community Hall.
Menu and Dining Options can be found on the Vero Beach disney website
verobeach.disney.go.com is the link I believe...
I think a 2 BR would be fine, 2 BR lockoff would be better in some ways, but a regular 2 BR should be fine for Grandma.
The rooms are big - and similar in style to the OKW rooms, so they are spacious. You'll have a sleeper chair and a Murphy bed (2 sleeping surfaces) in the living room, but a king bed in the master, so a 1 BR might be cramped for your party, especially depending on the ages of the kids, and grandma's comfort with them.
