Amy,

Thanks I will keep trying. Your girls are adorable. This is our first disney cruise with a baby. So we never needed the nursery. :teeth:

Thanks

Janet

Hi Janet,
In my stress of the day I never did say hi to you. This is our first cruise with babies too. I was 12 weeks pregnant with DD Emma on the last Member Cruise. We will be cruising with her, who will be 2 when we sail and our new DD Julia who will be almost a year old. Boy, things do change from one Member Cruise to another!

Still can't book Flounders! So if you are wondering who the crazy people are at the deck parties with real little kids, that will be us--due to technical difficulties!

Well, it looks like my 3 month + REAS saga has come to an amicable conclusion. After DVC was quite disappointing today in their lack of effort to care about my concerns, I was able to reach a supervisor at DCL that was very helpful! I complimented her and told her how grateful I was that someone finally seemed to care that this experience was not turning out like I had expected. I wasn't asking for much, just a little bit of personalized service, which is how this package is sold in the first place.

I foresee that the REAS package will disappear now that online booking is upon us. It's still a nice romantic idea for the on board goodies, but the hassle you have to go through now is just not worth it. It used to be so simple, now it's a royal pain in the you know what and I personally don't see the real value of the benefits you receive any more.

Maybe this was a unique situation because of the nature of the cruise, since it was a charter, but the disappointment of it all has brought me to near tears on multiple occasions. I was just trying to provide a little surprise for my DH and make it a stress free experience for us both. The anxiety I have felt because of the miscommunications between DVC & DCL and the inability for anyone to give me any information or hope for a successfull outcome all along has been nerve wracking. I am happy with the way it appears to have all worked out, I'll try not to let the aggravation taint my experience.

I've had so many closed door conversations in the past few months I hope DH doesn't think I'm having an affair or something! :worried: I'll let you know how the surprise turns out!

Congrats to everyone who made their bookings.

Diana - I feel your pain. I would be a basket case by now too. Not because of a real need to be, but because that's who I am :) If i couldn't get through and others could it would frustrate me.

Have you been able to get through by phone and speak with a supervisor? Maybe they could help.

I'm sure it will all work out in the end but understand the current frustration.

Amy

You deserve the nursery more than us we have a 12 year old step son and a 1 year old son. I was very pregnant on our last cruise. Atleast this time I can have my margarita in key west. You really have your hands full. Best wishes for a relaxing vacation. :cloud9:

Janet

Dorothy - I'm sure your DH will appreciate all the effort you put in for the surprise. I also hope that as you are having you massage that all the frustration of getting in the first part will melt away!

I think a big part of it is the uniqueness of the charter. Glad you found someone who could help you.

Thanks Janet, they are cute, aren't they?!?! I guess I'm a little biased though. We used the nursery when Emily cruised with us when she was 2. She really liked it there, so we're hoping that Madison will be ok too.

I know what you mean, Janet. I was pregnant with Madison on our last cruise, so I couldn't take part in all of those yummy drinks. Which, I guess was good for our shipboard account. Anyway, I can't wait to have some drinks this time around.

I was on the phone with a supervisor for a half hour. In the end, I was left with a "there's nothing I can do to help you, you just need to keep trying". Not exactly the customer service I was looking for, and as you all know, I've been trying since 9am and haven't stopped yet. In the end, I still have no Flounders ressies. The funny thing is, I'm a SAHM and my kids have never been with a babysitter, so I don't know why I'm so bent on getting them into Flounders when they may not even go for it! :rotfl:

Mary, Coach is at 517 Duval Street. Margaritaville is located at 500 Duval. We actually just happened upon Coach when waiting for our table at Jimmy's. I frequent the Coach outlet at Woodbury Commons (NY) and the prices were decent in comparison. Good luck if you go ~ I refuse to come home w/o a purchase from there : )

Booking update - it's still not open. I can't wait much longer :Pinkbounc

Ugh... I REALLY didn't need to know that there was a Coach outlet! I'm still spending $$$ decorating the new house, but how can you resist a good deal on a Coach bag??? :rolleyes1

Congratualtions, and/or good luck on the Ressies!

And thanks for the kind words on yesterday to all.

While I have your attention, I have done some more updating! I have updated the Webpage with the Meet info, and I have updated the button list once more by alphabetizing it and adding a column for status on who's planning on being at PI. Now, if your info for that is wrong or missing, you can just PM me here and I'll get it straightened out.

Mark,

We WILL be at PI. We cancelled CB and booked OKW when the Bon Voyage Party was announced!

We're waiting too.

I hope everyone gets what they want.

We're also waiting to book. When I was speaking to a CM about a month ago, she stated that a certain # of slots are held for each booking category in order to assure that some of everything is available to all. I'm hoping this is true, because I'd like to book a couples massage. If not, that's also okay, since I'm sure we'll find plenty to do on this cruise!

Lisa

PS - I hope all of you manage to get what you want! :wizard:

You are right. When they first opened this up and we did this for the Panama Canal cruise, all of us on the boards booked furiously and took many of the slots. When we got on the ship, I was talking with Rachel (the cruise director) and she said they don't open every spot so when people get on board there were still opportunities for people to book.

for us, it was great, we didn't have to get on the ship and do the reservation run with the family with everyone getting in different lines! Gave us more time to enjoy the shrimp!

Thanks for confirming! I'm planning on setting everything up before we get to the ship so that I can enjoy every moment of the cruise. Save a couple of shrimp for me!!!!

To anyone who is having problems booking Flounders!!

I FINALLY got a hold of a CM who was willing to help!! And I didn't get her name in my excitement, because I'm all set to write a great letter to Disney about her.

And it makes perfect sense, you just have to call DCL, because DH and I were Castaway Club members, but Emma and Julia technically weren't, since they've never cruised before. All she had to do was make them past cruisers, and.....you guessed it, Flounders reservations made!

What an insane experience that was!

On a even more positive note, I booked my airfare today $49 each way (Thanks Stitch)!! All that cash I saved from airfare is going right to the spa appointment!!

It figures that I was the one who had to experience the glitch in their system! I'm ready for my konk kooler now! :faint:

That IS a strange glitch, you'd think minors would automatically be on the same rules as the parents, but oh well.

Go ahead, get started early..

Konk Kooler:
1/2 can cream of coconut
3 ounces light rum
3 ounces dark rum
1/2 of a 12oz can frozen passion fruit juice concentrate(Welches)
4 oz of orange juice
2-3 cups of ice
Add all together in a blender until very fine and smooth

That is such a strange glitch, because Madison isn't a repeat cruiser and I was able to make ressies for her. Very weird, but I'm glad that it worked!!!

LOL, Madison is too a repeat cruiser!!!! Just because she was "sharing space" with you doesn't mean she hasn't earned her Castaway Club ears. princess:

Hmmm... could be a new ploy... underneath the infant rate, DCL is pleased to announce our new "in utero rate" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
