Thanks for those dates! I will check out the rates.
I have been trying but the DCL web site is slooooow.

I hate to ask this, but I have browsed thru the last 10 or so pages of this board to find the info someone wrote about The Trolley in Key West. Of course I didn't click on the link or was it a phone #. Anyway, if the poster of that info wouldn't mind telling the page or the info again, I woul appreciate it and then WRITE it down!

The info was about booking your own trolley tour because you could get on anf off as you wanted to, It also mentioned different points of interst in Key West.

Thanks

#1 Mouse ~Thanks. I had no idea about "the fish." I'm dying to see it now. How did I miss it last time?

Mark, what engineers...what sadness???? Now I really feel in the dark.

ScottH you're right questions do get answered w/ rapid speed. Thanks to all those "super sleuths." As a librarian (trained in reference work) I'm taken back by the thoroughness. However --- One question of mine hasn't been stabbed at yet though :guilty: (see below)

I have REAS and I booked the couple's massage, but I want the spa ta/ester. It's not available for booking online. Can I just tell my massage therapist when I get there for the appointment that I want that?

To answer somebody's question about how we know so much Disney stuff. For me personally I read up on all the lit. out there (i.e. newsletters, cast member publications, online news site's daily e-mails, etc.). But the biggest amount of info comes from the reading and sharing here on the dis. You get more than info here, you get first hand experience references and tips etc.

Okay, back to tweaking my typed up itinerary :earsboy: did I mentioned I have a compulsive planning problem?

I heard that there's a private reception for Castaway Club members (w/ champagne?) on regular sailings. Am I correct? Will it be offered on this sailing/what time?

The last time I cruised as a CC member I was just shy of 21 so I think that's why I wasn't invited or it may not have been offered.

This will be my first time cruising as a CC member, but I do remember someone saying that on the last member cruise that the CC reception took up several of the clubs.

Jimmy Doohan, aka, 'Scotty' on Star Trek passed away.. :(

Okay, now I get the beaming-up face you had at the end of your comments. So sorry for the fans out there : (

There was a CC reception on the last member cruise. It was basically appetizers/snack type things. I remember the gorgeous ice sculptures! There was the dueling piano people as entertainment. We had the late dinner and I want to say it was before dinner for us. I don't think you have to be 21 though, because I do remember kids being there.

Yo Ho Yo Ho ....a little something for all you pirates out there.

Besides the Comedy Warehouse performances, the DJ entertainment, the refreshments and the complimentary Pleasure Island admission, I have it on good authority that DVC is putting together a pirate-themed scavenger hunt at Downtown Disney. Since the Member Cruise stops in Key West, this is a great tie-in with our day of adventure and our pirate night. While everything else at the party is free, the scavenger hunt has a price tag, but we won't know how much until it's officially announced. Space is limited to just 200 people and registration will begin on the day it's announced.

Mary you are killing me here - that's great information! - I'm just having too much trouble with our dining and park plans and now more surprises.

As for the Castaway Club reception - yes on the last member cruise it took over all of the lounges!!!!!

We actually did a walk through and then headed on out. Opting instead to go to the internet cafe and post on the DIS. :)

Thanks Mary for the pic. I know the fish you're reffering to now, but I no idea it was a memo holder. I want one for my house!!!!!

Update for those inquiring about the Disney Cruise Line ship for DVC owners - I was told today that a request has been put in to meet the demand of people wanting it but if there is not enough - they will take orders for mailing them out. Hope that helps with that question.

The Members Update was a lot of fun - they really have organized it well and gave out DVC resort post cards and stickers for automobiles when it was over. There were a few prizes, ranging from umbrellas to watches - and no, I didn't win anything this time. Oh well, there's always the cruise in about a month or so!!!

Driving home on the weekend so this is my last update from SSR. :moped:

Oh and to add to the Fish - on the May Repo cruise they had Fish Extenders! I'm sure Linda will know what I'm talking about. Some people are really creative.

Mary - thanks for the update. We are definately planning on getting on of the ship models.

Glad you had a good time at the Member Update as well.
Have a safe trip home!

Does anyone know the size and price of the DVC ship model?

Thanks Mark. I thought it was you who provided that info.

I knew I read it all somwhere!

There are so many things I wnat to do.
Ilike the trolley idea, but I would alo like to do some snorkeling.
Maybe I'll save the snorkeling for CC as the children have never really snorkeled before.

I booked my spa days-but no luck w/ Palo's it keeps telling me there is an error an I have to choose dining options. There aren't any options given, however. I'll try again tomorrow or else call MS.

From the June Member Clubhouse. It doesn't list size but my guess would be no more than 1 foot long.

Member-ship
Beginning later this month (exact date undetermined as this edition of Member Clubhouse hits inboxes), Disney Vacation Club Members sailing aboard the Disney Magic® or Disney Wonder® cruise ships will have the opportunity to purchase a specially designed Disney Cruise Line® commemorative ship model.

dcl_ship_model.jpg
The hand-painted resin model, which will be available at the ships' Treasure Ketch merchandise shops for $50 each plus tax, sit on wooden bases adorned with silver plates displaying the Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club logos.

Designers created the model based on the exact blueprints for the actual cruise ships, working a variety of the ships' details into the sculpture. To purchase the commemorative ship model, simply request the item at the merchandise shop's checkout counter and present your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card.

Sorry I didn't address this when your other question was asked.

So if I'm reading this right you were able to book the couple's massage online but you weren't able to specify which of the two couple's massages you wanted. Is that correct?

If so then my suggestion is that you just wait until you are one the ship and visit the spa the first day. I think no matter which you pick you would be assigned the same room and assigned the same people. The important thing is that you have the time booked.

Hope this helps.
