I'm less than happy as a first time cruiser. I'm on the phone with reservations, and they have confirmed that NO BRUNCH TIMES were made available today for first time cruisers. This is one of the few things I really wanted a chance to experience. Also very limited massage opportunities.

I think it's great to give repeat cruisers perks, but they should leave something for first timers. JMHO. I'm sure we'll have a good time, but this has really soured me on DCL.

I wondered where you were this AM. I'm sorry it doesn't look like your going to get what you wanted. I agree, it wouldn't set right with me either. I understand giving priority to those who have sailed before, but IMO, it's not a good selling point for us first time cruisers.

I hope it will work out. :goodvibes

The most important word there being YET!

Why don't you ask him if Dee Vee Cee is sailing with us. Now wouldn't that be a hoot! :rotfl2:

How many people can they save at once after they've jumped overboard? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm sure they didn't open up all the reservations for on line booking (just like the seating reservations for airlines) and there should be some available when you board - even though I'm sure you would prefer to book now. Also, when you board you can check back with Palo - there are always cancellations.

Here's hoping the rest of your day is better :sunny:

If anyone finds out they are going to add brunch back to the online system please let me know and we will cancel our dinner as right now because I have it reserved we cannot even peek at times.

Guess this means we might be arriving early to the ship :rotfl:

Thanks! Their advice is to check once we get onboard in case someone cancels their brunch reservations... :sad2: Something tells me there isn't a big chance that we'll be doing brunch. Their viewpoint is "next time YOU'LL be able to book ahead!" That's great, but I have to like it enough this time to want to go next time... I'm also going to give others my opinion of the cruise based on my experiences this time, not the mythical "next time".

They kept me on the phone, and transferred me to a manager... this is what bummed me out. They were "supposed" to hold back for first timers and for boarding, but it looks like they didn't...

Oh John would be so happy if Dee Vee Cee was sailing with us! He thought she was a hoot!

Mary (iluvdisney) thanks for the update on SSR. When we were down there for Member Homecoming we spent our days over there using the main pool - love that slide! This trip will be our first stay there and VWL

Ahh well big bummer for sure! Guess it's probably because we have a larger majority of returning cruisers since it's a DVC cruise vs their regular cruises.

Both her and Sara Toga did a great job, I'll give them that.

And their characters are obviously very successful for DVC, regardless of how annoying we thought they were, even a year after we first met them, we are still talking about them!

:rotfl: I am going to have to show that picture to my DH (or maybe he'll see it here himself as he lurks quite a bit ;) ).

We just bought a hat like that from a resale shop last week. Walker picked it up for his school barn dance in October. We just might have to pack it. :rotfl2:

Woohoo! I've had a credit from Oriental Trading for a while. I was saving it for something special. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: My DH is in trouble now. :rotfl:

SCRAPBOOK CLASS UPDATE AS OF 7/20/05:

THE OFFICIAL (OR NOT SO OFFICIAL) SCRAPBOOK CLASS ON THE WONDER TAUGHT BY SEAULATER....................

TIME: 12:30-1:30 pm

WHEN: Tuesday, September 6

WHERE: On the ship (location forthcoming)

WHO: DISBOARD members and friends. Beginners welcome.

WHAT TO BRING: Your favorite scrapbooking adhesive (i.e. tape runner, mounting squares, glue stick) whatever works for you. We will need some glue dots but I will bring those.

I have finished designing the 2 page scrapbook spread we will be doing. It is based around the DVC logo SS Member Cruise! It is going to be a blast. I will be bringing (or should I say shipping beforehand) to the ship the supplies needed to complete your two pages.

So.....you can complete your two pages during the class and you can add your pictures later once you get home. I will be adding our Welcome Aboard photo to our page to go with the theme and a couple of others but I don't know what they are yet!

Here's the list of those who have signed up so far. PM me if you are interested in attending and I'll update the list. I think the cutoff to sign up will be around August 5 so I can get the stuff shipped to Florida beforehand.

Seaulater’s 3rd Disney Cruise Scrapbook Class Attendee List:

Thanks to Amy (alikat99) and Julie (chipscinderelly) who have offered to assist during the class!

I will also be handing out a pre-class handout in the terminal before we board the ship (no homework required though before the class!). I did this on the PC cruise and it worked out well. If I don't find you in the terminal, don't worry, it will magically show up on your fish before sailaway!

Linda :cheer2:
