Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

it's been a while since i posted, mainly due to the flurry of activity of getting the three boys back in school...3 different schools this year and SO much to do!

kim: i bought the lime green disney t-shirts that have been on clearance. i expect lots of folks have. DH thinks it was a good idea (though he's wondering why lime green :rotfl2: ), but it remains to be seen how my two teenagers feel!

wiggles: one word of caution about putting DD8 in with DD5...she's likely to get very bored. our youngest DS was 6 and a half last year and was bored to tears with the 5-7 program. he'll be a couple weeks shy of 8 this year and is very hopeful (so are we!) that they'll let him into the lab. one of the problems with being bored with the program is that he didn't want to go to the club...mainly when DH and I had non-kid-involved plans! they will allow you to put your 8yo into the club, but they won't allow you to move her back if she is unhappy with it (heard this myself last year when someone was doing it and have since read the same on these boards).

joksten: sorry about your loss. i lost my younger sister (only 36) a few years ago. yesterday was her birthday...she would have been 42.

whoever's doing the wristbands: is it too late to order?

Bumping . . . .

I am watching the ship right now on cruisecal.com! Hoping to catch it leaving port! Weather didn't look to good this morning, but looks like the sun is coming out now!

Six more weeks DD will be in the Mickey Pool and I will be eating chicken fingers on the side!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Joksten: I will say a prayer for your DW. It is sad how sometimes life gets cut way too short. I lost my 53 year old brother to a stroke last fall. I agree, we definitely have to take more vacations! Beginning with this cruise, I am starting a new tradition with me and DD. Every other year, we will be taking a BIG vacation (I can only afford it every other year, LOL).

Hmm......I could win powerball........... :woohoo:

really!!! I have never heard of them coming THIS early!!!
WOW!! I am excited!!!!!!

Ok where are mine???? I am ready, did yours come from a ta or straight from disney? We are booked thru costco, may take longer they have to get them then send to us. at least we know they are on the way

We leave for WDW. The really great thing is when we get back it will be 31 days to our cruise. Poor Winnie at the campground for 2 weeks. The poor baby

Hi Beth,

Not to late to order. In fact I don't know if we even have enough to order at all.

We are going to page 2, have to bump us up.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We are another day closer to leaving. :cool1:

Boys have started to count down the days till they get to go to "Grannys" for the week :rotfl:

Have a great week
Kim

Welcome wiggles :wave2: - I have twin DD's who are 5 - and one of them also has a
speach problem.

Doc's already? - That is very exciting. :yay:

I am trying to start getting things pulled together. Let me get opinions. How many cans of spray-on sunscreen would you bring? :sunny:

I would bring a ton of the spray-on sunscreen because it seems to run out quickly. I took 2 cans to the beach this summer for DS4 and I and it ran out mid-week. I ended up getting some coppertone with a pump spray nozzle...so you still have to rub it in like regular sunscreen but it goes on smoother. :wave2:

Hi All!!! :sunny:

Okay, it's Monday and I've been away for awhile. Just a guick note to say hi and then I've gotta run. :moped: I will catch up with all tonight. :yay: Hope everyone had a grand weekend. :goodvibes

Gosh, I've got to get caught up with all the newbies. Welcome!!

Time to get a bit more done and than catch my commuter train out of Boston to home sweet home!!! Then create a meal for the menfolk and off for a workout. Oh skinny me!!! :rotfl2: I'm working on it and that's a good thing.

Someone got the docs....ohhh...I'll be checking my mail!!! Congrats!!!  How cool, I think I had to wait for awhile to get mine last year. Here's the doc dance :dance3: party: :dancer: :rockband: :dancer:

No docs, but my kids' passports came today so I am excited about that! :yay:

5 1/2 weeks until we leave for Florida! My kids started school today (first day of middle school for my DD11 :scared: ) so we are glad we have something to look forward to!

Hey All!!

No docs here either, but I think it's awfully early.

When going to the beach recently we must have used 2/3rd's of a can for the 4 of us for only a half day.

Lets work out the formula...

(2/3 can) / 4 people = 0.167 per person for 4 hours, or 0.04167 per person per hour.

Now lets estimate how much 'sun' time:

Sat: 2 hours
Sun: 6 hours (Sea Day)
Mon: 6 hours (Sea Day)
Tue: 8 hours (St. Martin)
Wed: 8 hours (St. Thomas)
Thu: 6 hours (Sea Day)
Fri: 8 hours (Castaway Cay)

That's 44 hours (approx) or 1.83 cans per person for the week.

So, we'll need 7.33 cans for our family of 4 for the week.

That wasn't so hard was it? Can anybody guess what I do for a living?

David

Hi all just checking in,

Wow, I can't believe the docs are arriving already :dance3: . Last year I received mine about 3 days before the cruise. For some reason, they were returned to the travel agent because proper security procedures were not followed. :confused3

Disneymomto1 and Wiggles: Did you get your room assignment yet. I had a GTY cat 12 that was assigned a few months ago...I got a nice upgrade to a 10 but in a bad spot...right under the nightclub. I have been watching the rooms carefully (hoping to upgrade for cheap :rolleyes1 at the port) seems that most of the cat 9s on deck 1 are open - maybe you will get one of these!

Jennifer

Hey everyone. Thanks again for the warm welcomes :grouphug: Glad to see there are lots of kids here my DD's ages. And I'm sure they are all as disney crazy as my girls are. I don't think a day has gone by the last 4 years that the word Disney hasn't come up at least once  Crazy but true.

I can't believe docs are coming this soon. I was so excited yesterday when my ME tags came. We are staying at WDW a couple of days before and going to the Halloween Party Friday night. I just hope we are not so tired that we can't enjoy our first day on the ship.

Still haven't got a room assignment. I have been checking daily. We booked a 12 so I know we will get an 11 but if they want to upgrade me to a higher cat who am I to stop them ;)

Okay, I'm going to embarrass myself, but I don't know how the GTY thing works that many of you are talking about. We've always just booked a stateroom thru a travel agent. Sounds like we may have been wasting a bunch of money! Any clues?
Thanks!
