Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

ok..i am in Hurricane Mode...I live in Palm Beach County (about 60 minutes N of Miami) and we have started "crisis mode"!

lol...someone remind me again, WHY I LIVE HERE??

Happy Monday...well it looks Ernesto has caused the Western this week to become an Eastern. I guess it is time to start praying that the 'caines leave us alone this year. 2 years ago, our Western was modified due to the damage that a 'caine did to Grand Cayman - We did Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Well gotta get ready for work.

Jennifer

Hi All,

Betsy: Keep your head down the next few days. Let us know how it goes.

Back to work....

Kim

Hmmm...if they have to modify the cruise due to hurricanes, what do they do about your excursions? I would hope that if you booked them through Disney that they would credit/refund you. Interesting. :confused3

Back from our week at SSR. The 2BR was smaller than the one we had a WLV but still very nice. We were in the Springs middle Bldg, so convenient to the pool. Very muggy in the a.m. We took my DW's Sister & Husband. Had every intention to eat in the room, but I don't think we had one dinner there. Went to La Nouba, it was really great. Had dinner at Friday's near the airport as we got in 3 hours late due to plane delay. Had a pulled pork sandwich with Jack Daniels sauce, very very yummy. Ate at the Earl of Sandwich twice, had free meal tickets. Ate at the California grill at the Contemporary, very $$$ but excellent food, had the Ribeye and everyone else had the filet. The flat bread pizza was soooo outstanding. Went to the House of Blues for the Gospel Revenue, the food was great but the loudness of the music drove us out got as far back as we could and covered our ears but still too loud left after 10 minutes, good thing they fed us first. Had flat bread pizza at the Artiste Point twice.

Now back to reality, the electricians are here the painters are partly done, but they decided to repave the street and they had to stop because of the dust and then the rain. Stove & Microwave are coming today.

30 days!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi All,

We are about 30 days out now and I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work. I wonder what's wrong with me? :confused3

Momaraven: Yes, if you booked thru Disney they will credit you OR not charge you for any missed excursion. Help me out if I'm wrong folks!

Lets all keep our fingers crossed and maybe we'll see a shuttle launch!! :thumbsup2

Back to work.

David

Hi guys my wife and 4yr old daughter and 5yr old son will also be on the cruise with you guys we are in cabin 2504. I have not been real active on the boards lately as we bought a new house and have been finishing the basement. This will be our 8th Disney Cruise as far as hurricane season I have been very lucky, never diverted to Fort Lauderdale or anything, so maybe we will be the good luck charms. However we have been on DCL in January, February and March all with bad luck(weather). I would much rather take my chances in hurricane season than the winter months.

Steve

Welcome Steve & Family!!

Just a quick note. Gotta go make coffee.

David

Hi all! I haven't posted in a while. Just wondering what everyone was planning for excursions. We were thinking of doing St. Martin on our own and going to one of the beaches. We were looking at a beach and snorkle in St John with the cruise (not on our own). What is everyone else planning? It would be great to find some friendly faces!

It will be my dh and I and our two kids, DD 9 and DS 6. Anyone else with a 8-9 y.o. dd? I ask because my dd is starting to get a little apprehensive about the trip. We are in So. Cal and went on the DLC last year to Mexico. Had the most wonderful time, and being from LA it took no time to get to the port. This is the first time my dd will be flying since she was a toddler. She is getting a bit anxious about the trip out there. I think if she could make a friend ahead of time, it might give her something to look forward to instead of focusing on the airport/flight, etc. PM me if you'd prefer. The kid's board is pretty quiet.

Thanks!!! Kendall

Kendell,
I have a nine-year old daughter. I know that there are several other girls in that same age range as well.

Kendall!

Welcome!
I have a DD that is 8.5..she was on the Halloween DCL last year...She will be new to the Lab..but I think she will like it..

We survived Ernesto..nothing but some wind and rain...like a normal Florida storm..just less lightning

ok...back to bumming!

Betsy,

Glad you are all safe.

We are all ready but still have to count down the days :guilty:
Wish we were going this weekend, ready to get away from work. Starting to get things together and making packing list. I am sure I will forget something.

Going to make diner.
Kim

Hello everyone! We just booked ourselves for the 9/30 cruise. Nothing like waiting to the last minute, eh? We had been planning a trip to DW for that week (kids are off school for fall break) but the other day we decided we would rather do the cruise instead. We did the 7 day eastern last October (10/15 if I remember.) We are really excited about it all, even if we don't have too much time to look forward to it.

It will be me and my wife, and our 2 DD (6 and 4). We are in room 2539, right underneath the night club

Jason.

Hi Jason & Welcome!

If your looking for ages of the kids, check the roll call.

Foods burning, gotta run.

David

wow david..i haven't looked at your updated roll call ...very cool!!

BUMP! Hi All! Been so busy haven't had time to be on board here. Glad to hear everything is alright, Betsy! :thumbsup2

Squirrelgirl: My DD will turn 8 on the cruise. First cruise. I'm sure she would love to chat with your DD. PM me. Her name is Baylee. She is so excited. (SO AM I :cool1:). She has been chatting with Betsy's DD as well.

Went to JC Penney's today and swooped up on a couple outfits and a purse 75% off clearance!!!! With school starting Tuesday, we have been so busy getting stuff together for that as well. Once school starts, the time will fly! :cool1: We made our 29 day chain tonight. FUN!

Not doin the DOCS dance yet but we got our room assignment and I think we have been upgraded to a category 9!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . It says Room Number 2562, however it still says Standard inside stateroom under the room number???!! Of course, quick check on the number comes up category 9! HELP someone! Could this be pixie dust for us already? :wizard: Anyone else have this on their reservation??????? I don't want to get my hopes up (like it hasn't already happened :rolleyes1 )

Excursions for us: St. Martin Sea and See Island Tour, St. Thomas Coralworld and Castaway Cay stingray excursion. There are a TON of people that are going on their own, but this is my first time "abroad" LOL and I want to make sure I'm with DCL because I tend to lose track of time and I am a chicken about going on our own, especially with just me and DD going by ourselves.

Since I've written a book, I will be signing off for now.

Sheila...I am seriously jealous...yes, my reservation still says "standard inside stateroom cat 12" or something like that but the cabin number is a Cat 10. I believe yours is indeed a 9.

Jennifer

Jason,
You must be in the same county as we are!! I think we are the only ones around that get a fall break. What a great time to take the kids and they dont have to miss any school. We have 3 ds. age 11,8,4. Are you flying or driving down? We are leaving after school on the 29th and driving all night. Cant wait to meet you and your family
Kim

Hey everyone! We finally got a room assignment. Got upgraded to a cat 10 2111. Very excited :cheer2: Congrats on your room Sheila!!! It is getting so close. We made our paper chain the other day too although we have been counting down since we hit the 365 day mark :hourglass

Hey Jason! We are practically neighbors. We live an hour north of Nashville. We also get fall break. I think most schools in KY get a week fall break. We are lucky we get two :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great day :goodvibes
