And besides that, no more answers, hints or whatever. You'll just have to be patient for about another 6 months. We can do that.

OMG I can't believe it's just 6 months until we cruise! We are submitting our passport applications tomorrow at our local USPS. I am hoping we get some menu answers soon so I can start planning on what I'm going to order lol.

I have some fitness news...I have lost 11 lbs since Jan 1st and have only 8 more to go to be at my target weight. Anyone else have fitness news to share?

Congrats on the weight lose, but I have one thing to say...STOP LOSING WEIGHT, for every pound you lose I seem to find two..

Man, I hate getting old....once I hit 40, my metabolism packed it's bag and walked out the front door never to be seen again.

I called and spoke with the Pirate Adventure folks on St Thomas this morning and found out that each tour lasts about 1:15 to 1:30 hours and of that about 40 minutes is on the water. I think that's a pretty good ratio.

The gent that I talked to seemed pretty rushed, maybe a tour was about to start, so I got off the phone quickly. I am going to call back again to ask if it's better to book in advance or the day of for late September and if there are group rates.

It seems that I ought to have another question or two, but for the life of me I can't figure out what they are Oh well.

oh I do! between our fall disney trip and Christmas I gained some weight (and I already had wanted to lose a little) and so after watching the WDW marathon in january I got inspired, signed up for next year's half marathon, and have been running 4 days a week, and cross training one day a week since mid January an dI have lost about 4 pounds and toned up a lot, and I am running in my first 8k tomorrow! (sorry that was so long!)

(sorry that was so long!)

Wow! That's great! Yeah I can't run I read the requirements for the marathon and figured I would be disqualified in about an hour. My husband was in track and he's a good runner, maybe he should do the marathon! And I'll "exercise" by walking around the parks

That is really fabulous - congratulations to you!

I still need to lose about 10 pounds to reach my target BMI weight (I lost about 30 pounds 2 years ago and have had that remaining 10 pounds since then). I'm planning on working really hard this Spring and Summer so I can look great for the cruise.

Good for you and good luck on your marathon today!! DH and I toyed with the idea of signing up for the half marathon at Disney in 2010, but we decided that I need another year of training before I'm ready to even attempt a marathon. I have found that I love running, though (on the treadmill; I haven't tried running outdoors yet). Anyway, let us know how the marathon goes!!

No fitness news here. The only 'scale-game' I play is the ever lasting juggle of trying to balance things a bit.

Wow, planning to do a marathon, good for you! Somehow I reckon I wont have to participate, don't think it's as much of an achievement to push a joystick forward for 34.195 meters.

Well, DH pushes his Playstation 3 joystick about 10,000 times a day, which is probably the equalivalent of 34.195 meters. I think that's quite an accomplishment!

Yeah, well, duhuh! That's a Playstation. Playing with that every day always is an achievement. (can you notice I'm a Nintendo-girl?)

If I rename the whole thing to pushing Animal forward to move 34.195, now that does sound like an achievement, right?

I know the first post contains a list of all of the DIS-folks (and friends, family and loved ones) booked on this cruise, but I'm wondering if all are in on the FE or if we've got a specific group of participants?

thanks everyone. yesterday was fun but exhausting and now I have blsiters haha. I ahve no idea how I am going to do the half! this was hard enough. at least I have a long time to train. it was actually only 4.5 miles and I ran it in 49 minutes my beast of a husband ran it in 39 minutes

I have been on duck boat tours in DC, Cape Cod, Austin, Seattle, Ketchican and San Diego (twice). My family & I have enjoyed the first tour we took so much, we look for duck boat tours when ever we are traveling to a place with water nearby.

Generally speaking, Duck Tour narrators are silly and light-hearted while still conveying interesting information. Kid friendly bad jokes and puns abound. I think that it is mandatory to at some point hear the Gilligan's Island or Jaws theme song.

The tours start on land and at some point spend time in the water. Our 'in the water time' experiences have been any where from 15 minutes to darn near an hour. Once we were lucky enough that the driver/captain let the kids on board take turns at the wheel while in the water.

While some duck boats are built for just for the tours, most duck boats are re-purposed DUKWs

The DUKW (popularly pronounced "duck") is a six-wheel-drive amphibious truck that was designed by General Motors Corporation during World War II for transporting goods and troops over land and water and for use approaching and crossing beaches in amphibious attacks.

I told my seven year old (8 on the cruise) that there was a duck boat on St. Thomas and he started dancing.

The reviews I was able to find on Cruise Critic were positive, the only complaint was the heat. I think by going in the morning, that won't be an issue.

So, I have made a little cheat sheet for myself as I am buying FE gifts and such, and I am missing some info. I am hoping to get everyone's names so I can have the gifts labeled. Most that have been to Island Mercantile before will have seen the variety of animals they've got maid out of beads. Anywho, mom bought me a parrot and for her and dad a fish, shell with pearl etc. And now she wants a parrot. Starting to become quite a zoo at their home.

It's pronounced "Ans-lee." It's actually a very "Atlanta" name, and it really is very popular here in Georgia (and DH and I thought we were being so unique - LOL).

Who needs a code, Girlfriend, when you got DVC?? I told DH that we WILL be staying at the AKL CL based solely on the things you've already said. This is before you've even checked in, mind you - - I can't wait to hear about the actual stay! I'm sure it's fabulous!
