Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Would you please remove us from the list? We have changed our date to the Oct 24th cruise. Thanks!

Thanks for the info folks. You guys are always such a wealth of information.

Sign us up for 2 adult and 2 kids wristbands.

I'm shopping for my FE and FE gifts right about now. There are some cute ones on ebay. I'm creative, but I'm just thinking that I have zero time for anything I want to do these days including learning out to make an FE. The ones on ebay are adorable and personalized.

Dressing up for Pirate Night: I'd love to, but I'm just not sure yet. We go to a Halloween Party every year so getting the costume for the trip would clear up the guessing game every year as to what we are going to be for Halloween. But no costumes in hand yet. I got the kid's costumes last month. My ds has a Jack Sparrow type costume and my dd will have a little girl pirate costume that is so stinkin' cute. I can't wait to see them dressed up.

Autograph books: I'm checking into those too. I haven't been to Disney World since our wedding in 2000, but didn't do the autograph thing then. Is this something very popular on DCL as it is in DW? I found two books that I liked as they have spaces for photos too. I thought the kiddos would enjoy that. I did see about the pillow cases you could have autographed, but I think the kids would like the photo autograph books better. Thoughts?

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that nothing affects our trip cruise. With the economy in such disarray, DH and I did say that job loss would be the only thing that would keep us from going on this trip. Still praying and wishing that everything stays as is! I'm just trying to keep myself from getting too excited.

The autograph books with photo pages only have room for about 14 autographs. If you need any books, I can try and pick them up for you from WDW at cost and bring them to you on the ship, rather than you paying a marked up price plus shipping. Let me know if you'd be interested. I don't know what designs they have on the ship but at WDW there's like 6 now.

I purchased a few FE gifts as well. I need to make our FE but I can't make a final decision about what I want to do...so indecisive lately!

So, I have made a little cheat sheet for myself as I am buying FE gifts and such, and I am missing some info. I am hoping to get everyone's names so I can have the gifts labeled. Any group I am missing names or kids' ages for has a red * at the end. Not too worried about missing cabin numbers right now but if you know it and it's not on here let me know! I'm starting to map out the exchange.

17. kpadalik - Kristen, George, Hannah (DD6), Grace (DD2) - 2120

My name is actually misspelled...it's Kristin. Can it be fixed? BTW, I'm in North Port, so hello neighbor! :wave2:

Still at home today. DS is officially missing state mandated testing.

My "little spreadsheet project" is coming along.

Here are some more stats:
  • Folks are celebrating 3 Anniversaries, 2 Birthdays and 1 Wedding
  • We have folks from the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Canada
  • We have cabins booked in all categories except 2, 10 & 12
  • We booked more Cat 6's (12) than any other
  • Of the approximate 165 hours we will be on board, 127 we will be at sea

If anyone (on our cruise, I won't be sharing with the world) would like to take a peak at the spreadsheet PM me with your email address and I will send it to you.

My DH's birthday is 9/24 and my DD is turning 2 on 9/20. So, their birthdays aren't OFFICIALLY during the cruise, but we will be celebrating for sure!!!!

Can you add another birthday to your list? Charlie (my DSIL) will be celebrating his birthday on 9/22.

Here are the cabins we have for the tour....7624 (cat7), 7582 and 7636 (cat5), 8538 (cat4) and 8530 (cat1 - Roy Suite)....If anyone has a Cat 3, 6, 8, 9, or 11 that we could tour, please let me know and I will add you to the list. Did anyone book a sideways cabin??

as of right now we are in cabins 5510 (cat 8) and 5509 (cat 11 right accross the hall and i believe that is a sidways cabin if i remember right). we wanted the cabins close to each other and close to the kids clubs:thumbsup2 you can add us to the cabin tour list if you'd like (although i'm sure they're not as special as the roy suite!).

hey...does anyone know the best inexpensive place to stay the night b4 we board that's still convenient to the port?

Thanks to hal001 for letting us add his 2 cabins to our tour list....we now have a Cat 8 #5510 and a Cat 11 #5509 which is a sideways cabin.

Still need a Cat 3, 6 and 9 if anyone wants to open up their cabins for a few minutes.

Shirley from "The Perfect Gift" has put together a post with alot of cruise information that includes hotels close to the port. That might be a good place to start looking for hotels near the port.

Since we are planning on going to MNSSHP on Friday night and want to get to the port early on Saturday, we are staying at the MCO Hyatt with a 'Stay Certificate' for $135.00, although I am holding out hope that we will get a better rate through Hotwire as we get closer.

Hi, guys! We just returned from a magical stay at WDW, the planning of which has kept me compeletely off planning for our cruise. However, now that our WDW trip is over, I'm full in cruise planning mode.

We bought into DVC while we were at the parks, so we'll be staying at the Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary on September 25th and will be attending MNSSHP that night as well. I haven't gone back and read the pages and pages of posts that I've missed (I will) but do we have a meet scheduled of those attending MNSSHP?? If not, I would be happy to head that up. Anyway, I look forward to chatting it up with you all again now that I'm full on cruise mode. (((HUGS))) :grouphug:

Oh wow Crystal, congratulations on buying into DVC! BLT is your homeresort I assume? Are you guys doing MK view on the 25th? I was wondering why you were so quiet, but the trip -and planning for it- explains a lot. Is another TR coming up?

I don't think there is a meet up scheduled yet? We'll be doing MNSSHP also (or that is, talked about it months ago, Lieske was enthousiastic than, so either she's coming or we'll spend a night apart ;) ). Don't know about the date yet. The one on the 25th isn't very convenient with having to leave on the 26th. I'm obsessive (pstt, don't tell Lieske this ;) ) and don't know how we'll go to the port yet. Will end up using Disney transport, but not sure what yet. Really want to do the Palo brunch and from what I read on the DIS, it might be very well be impossible to grab us something online as both of us are cruising virgins. In that case, it would be wise to get to port early. If I understand correctly, the DCL bus from WDW doesn't leave untill somewhere around 11 am. By the time we'll get to the port, boarding will have started and don't know if that's a smart move for getting Palo. I'm toying a bit with the idea of perhaps hopping on DME early in the morning to be able to take the early DCL bus from MCO. Obsessive, right? :lmao: But long story short; if it turns out we decide to take the MCO-tour it would mean getting up early. Which would mean doing MNSSHP until late isn't too agreeing with my need of sleep. Guess I'ld better start to think about it with the MNSSHP-tickets going on sale earlier than the window for Palo bookings opening up.

If it'll be the 25th or not when we do MNSSHP, I would love to meet up while at WDW already.

On a totally different level; have any of you got any good info and/or tips about shopping off site? I want to do some major shopping. :rolleyes1 Travel would be done via taxi. I know Orlando Premium Outlets or either the Florida Mall is close to WDW (keep forgetting, will be writing it down by then). But then again, Prime Outlet sounds more appealing when looking at the storelist. First of all; they've got Esprit. It's the brand I wear a lot, so that's a big  . Also it sounds more appealing that they seem to have more of the 'typical american stores' (read; in my european way of looking at things) like GAP, Macy's etc. On the other hand; it's quite a bit further away from WDW. Any of you guys have done any of these malls? Which would you recommand or not? Any idea about hoe much the taxifare would be?

Hey, Girlfriend - so glad to "see" ya around. I hope that your December trip to the World was an incredible as my March trip (although March was much busier than I expected). But, I have a tan in March so I really am not complaining too much.

I totally understand why you are obsessing about transportation to the port, especially since you need to be an early bird to get your Palo reservations. However, I think that you should be able to get into Palo if you book at your midnight window at 75 days out. I was on a 4-day and there were many, many Palo spots still open for dinner, but not brunch (but our cruise adds 3 more opportunities than what I had so I have to believe you'll be okay). However, I am hopeful for you and will be crossing my fingers for you.

We will be driving to Orlando on the 25th, so we will check into BLT (our fabulous home resort) right at about 3:00 p.m. and then head to MNSSHP. We are also thinking about eating at Chef Mickey's or Kona on the morning of the 26th... I don't know that that's a viable option for you, but we can book a large table and have breakfast together if either of those work out. Now that our park trip is over, I'm so excited about planning the cruise!!!

Now, about shopping... You are going to laugh at me, but I have absolutely no idea why lies outside the Disney complex. Once we drive through Orlando, we enclose ourselves in all things Disney. But, I can tell you that I think that taxis are quite expensive (I thought I saw something like $20 to go from resort to resort, but that could be wrong). So, at this point, you know much more than I do about the shopping possibilities in Orlando.

Well, I'd better get back to work (still playing catch-up). I'll check back later on. Take care!!

Oh a tan! I'm officially jealous. It's going to be freezing here again later this week and you've got a tan. :cloud9: Our December trip was fabulous, for the Disney virgins. For me it turned out to be almost 2 weeks spending in the room being sick. Not the way I planned it, so I'll have to make up for that in September. :goodvibes

Welcome to the bug. :) Will discus the breakfast with Lieske. If it turns out to be an option, I can have IPO take care of it at the 90-day mark. Such a nice perk of a CL stay.

I did laugh, but not at you. I laughed because I recognized it. :lmao: I mean, my first trip I stayed on WDW ground only and in December, we only got off to go to a Wallmart. Pretty hard to explain back home. Yeah, I went to the US twice, but didn't see much besides WDW. :rotfl2: Was surprised by the cost for the taxi we used to get to the Wallmart though. It was less than $20,- to go from CBR to the Walmart. After reading some post on here about the cost of resort-to-resort I was expecting more. Turned out CBR was in a right location for going to Walmart, after looking at the map later on.

Hmm, I'ld better start to do some cooking if I want to eat today. Good day at work!

Wow - this is an active thread! I hadn't checked it in awhile & had lots of catching up to do!

**Please add us to the fish extender list.
**We are interested in the PJ breakfast.
**We are interested in lanyards/wristbands (2 adult, 2 kids)

I am planning to decorate our door too. This is our 4th DC, but our 1st being on the DISboards.

To Charlotte, who has the most anti-social husband in the world, my DH is exactly the same way. Maybe we can sit them at a table together!

We are in cabin 5020.

Hey everyone! I haven't been on in forever. It's been a crazy time with being pregnant. I'm 28 1/2 weeks and have been on bedrest with pre-term labor issues since 24 weeks. And pretty much I'll be on the couch until 36weeks then they will let him come when he wants too. We're still super excited and can't wait for Bailey to take his first disney cruise.

I think I saw several people say they will be going WDW beforehand. We'll be at BCV from the 23 until the cruise. I think we're trying to go to halloween party that friday. Can't wait to dress up Bailey!

Ok going to go read about what I've missed.

Just so excited I had to share!!!!!!!!!!! WE have bokd our pre cruise Stay at Port Orleans Riverside. And The cruise is almost paid off. I'm getting super excited

Congrats, Fire! How many days will you have pre-cruise?

Daisy; hopefully Bailey will stay put for a long time to come!

Lyndi; yep some folks on here are a bit.. chatty. :) Which reminds me, where is Keith hanging out?
