Ahhhh, our son... "The Thoughtful Pirate."

I think Mac has taken a little too well to the pirate motif. Last night he wouldn't be parted from the pirate hat and sword -- even right up practically to his bedtime!

Well, gotta get back to work (got lots o' junk mail to crank out before we leave Friday night)... but can't leave without the Bouncing Maleficents doing their "No Hurricane" Dance!

Hi All,

I found the over the door shoe holders. Whew!! Now we can keep all of Kathy's cosmetics organized. Maybe the kids & I will get a pocket or two as well.

I love the trial size section of Target. I love to stovk up on this stuff for vacation and then leave it all behind when it's time to go home.

Does anybody use the little suction cups in the shower for the bathing suits? As soon as I hit the parking lot I remembered them. But they weren't on the list so it's OK.

Got my batteries for all of the kids & my electronics.

Also, I better check that Jet Blue still allows 70lb bags.

Princess Olivia: I have 2 DD's 9 & 11, they are 18mo apart. They are always making friends where ever we go. Will your daughter be in the Lab or Club?? If she is in the club we could hook them up.

Yes Olivia will be in the Lab. She makes friends fairly easy, a little shy at first but then she becomes the good time girl (gets that from her mother)! I am so glad to hear of everyone's children in this age group. I think she will have a blast. DS7 is best friends with everyone. You can't miss him he's got blond curly hair and HUGE blue eyes he's very easy tempered and sweet. Not that I have a favorite but can someone tell me when 8 year old girls learned how to do the face of a 13 year old girl in disgust? She's greeeaaat!

I too went to Target today and bought an over the closet shoe organizer. Love that place. I also went to the trial section and ended up buying the most foolish things (along with stuff I'll actually need). I get carried away at Target. I even put together an airplane activity bag for the kids for when we fly out on Jet Blue!! They better share those m&m's......

David - I really haven't used my digital camera enough to know - How long do those rechargable batteries last? Which lasts the longest? It says my camera can take CRV3, KAA2HR(?), AA/Lithium, AA/Ni-MH. It's a Kodak easy share so I wonder if I should take my charging doc or if I should just bring my AA battery charger and extra rechargable batteries. What are your thoughts, mr. electronics guy?

Okay ~ After a "false start" this morning, this day has just improved dramatically!!!

Here's how it went

1) I NEVER set an alarm because I am ALWAYS early for wake-up & work!!!
~~~ You guessed it!!! OVERSLEPT!!!

2) Tripped over the PACKED suitcase in the middle of the floor!!!

3) Didn't have time to provide Wx Report! Will publish it in about 2 minutes.

4) Get to work ... locked out of office?

5) Just about the time I figure "I'll go home & do this stuff", someone finds a key!

6) Okay - NEW Boss asks for a report he said he didn't need until I got back! Guess who has it done already? KNEW he was going to need that report!!!

7) Day Ended & I am "outta there"

VACATION!!!

IS A STRONG WAVE WITH WIND GUSTS LIKELY OVER 35 MPH... THE CLOUD PATTERN IS BECOMING ELONGATED WITH NW SHEAR AFFECTING THE SYSTEM. THIS WAVE SEEMS TO HAVE LESS CHANCE OF DEVELOPING THAN YESTERDAY AS THE SHEAR DISRUPTS THE LOW. SCATTERED MODERATE CONVECTION IS FROM 14N-18N BETWEEN 37W-42.5W.

Just another unfortunate effect of Katrina, my friend (the applications were being processed in New Orleans when the storm hit)... but all things considered it's a very MINOR issue indeed. I'll gladly take having no passports over having no house (or worse) any day.

That doesn't mean I can't hope for the RE-applied-for passports to arrive in time though...

Howdy everyone!

I guess we should finalize the meet plan since some people are leaving tomorrow! The biggest question I have is:
What if Parrot Cay is closed? I've read sometimes on trip reports that the CMs guide you to the upper deck instead to try to maintain crowd control. And are we meeting at Parrot Cay what time? There will be a few things I need to arrange once on ship. So I won't be able to go there immediately. Also the kids aren't going to allow me to sit there for long waiting for everyone to board. So just need to know a time.

Also- I guess an informal howdy will be at the coffee shop in the terminal before we board? And we are supposed to wear our name tags with our DIS name on them so we can spot each other? Is this correct?

Erinc- Since our girls have been chatting, I really want my DD to meet your DD. She is really wanting to say "howdy". I don't think you are linked with us for evening dining. Correct? Are you going to be at Parrot Cay? Or do we need to make plan 2? I know there is no formal activities in the club/labs on the first day.

Oceanblue- Are you out there? It seems our DS's have been planning a meet. Are you going to be at Parrot Cay also? If not, shall we plan a different spot for them to meet?

That is all! I'm still not done planning. Does it ever end?!

Deanna- I have heard that if a CM directs you to the other lunch area, you should just say that you will wait for tables to open up. They may say it will be 15 minutes wait, but I have heard (again) that it is never that long. Should we say we will meet at Parrot Cay by 1 pm? Does this sound ok, too early, too late? That was our first stop because you can't get into your room until well after lunch anyway. As far as the coffee shop goes, I plan to be there before 11 am and I'll try to wear the name tag. I do have one on my backpack though for sure!

Dennis - A big Woo-Hoo about the weather! Thanks from this obsessive planner. Hope your day only gets better. Wait a second, you get to leave tomorrow! Have a GREAT trip and we'll see you at the port!

Okay, all you guys seem to be leaning heavily towards CANADA!!! Having NOT eaten there before, I will go with the majority recommendation. Besides, I have eaten at both the others already... PLUS, I think we plan on hitting the Animal Kingdom buffet too. Hmmm I wonder if I have enough elastic in my pants? I wonder if I should pack sweat pants too?

Deanna ~ Have never encountered an inability to get into Parrot Cay. Closed? Crowd control is usually managed by removing plates after folks are finished eating. Like that's going to happen during a cruise. Seriously, I, for one, suspect that there will be some "table tag" going on ... as folks want to explore, find luggage, etc etc. Also suspect that there will be another "informal" gathering at the Sail-Away party and then the is DINNER!!!

Julie ~ I thnk all airlines have a 50# limit these days...

Okay ~ It's 94 degrees here in ELP today!!!

I managed to get all my bags packed today and the heaviest is 30 lbs! I surprise myself!
