If I'm counting correctly, we have 19 cabins participating; 35 Adults and 17 children.

Julie,
Thanks so much for organizing FE #2 and keeping track of all this information!

Although we are in two cabins, for family gift purposes, everyone can count us as one family - we are a family of five split into two rooms, and we will have one FE.

Also, I think the number eight comes across as smileyfaces on some devices (iPhones for sure!)

Shopmom - how old is your son? Just want to make sure he gets things appropriate for his age!

Thanks,
Shea

ONE MONTH! How crazy is that! :yay:

I have a few more follow up questions, just to make sure I'm not missing anything that I should do BEFORE we leave!

1) Prepaying tips, is that just so you are charged beforehand? Is there any benefit to this or is it just a money management thing? If I wait til we get onboard, they will just charge my on-board account, is that correct? Somehow I don't feel like I'm saving any time or anything by prepaying, is that the right understanding?

2) No more pre-ordering of photo "stuff"...just deal with it on-board?

I just want to make sure I'm not missing any other "to dos" other than excursions, spa appointments, Palo.

thanks!

The last cruise we were on I did not prepay my tips. They sent my suggested gratutities envelopes about two nights before the cruise ended. I waited later in the day to go tally my bill and confirm everything and ended up in a large line up, cause they do not just automatically charge you have to go tell them to charge it. So I ended up wasting a precious hour. This time around I am prepaying. If you do not prepay, I suggest you deal with it as soon as you get your envelopes in your room.

Hi All - Today is the official cut-off for the FE List #2. If you are on this list, please check to make sure I have the information correct. If you still do not have a cabin assignment, just PM me (if you have PM ability) and I'll update.

Got our cruise documents yesterday :) but still no room assignment :confused3

FE is almost done :hyper:

WhoooooHoooooo. It will go very quick now, DW has the FE stuff all set up, just need to put it all together. We just created a paper chain for DD with 30 links so she can tear one off each day leading up to the cruise.

One of the tips/tricks I read last time was to go down first thing in the morning after getting the envelopes to avoid the line, and it worked great!

You don't really have a choice anymore. They recently changed it so that tips are automatically added to your bill. I think they add them the first or second day, but you can go to guest services any time during the cruise to adjust the amounts. You can also stop by guest services right at the beginning of the cruise and have them removed completely if you want to tip in cash.

I prepaid mine already so that I wouldn't have it show up on our on-board charges. I will just add extra cash to the people that I want to give more to (which most times it has been all of them). :thumbsup2

Does anyone know how to book the rainforest room one-day pass? I can't find anything rainforest related on the website.

I actually know the answer to this - go on the page where you book on line gifts. It is listed in that. It shows room decorations, wines etc.

Forgive as I am newbie...but what is this rain forest room that I hear about??

And I requested to join the FB group. Name is Windy! :)

Hi Julie, I am having one more in my party.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: DD Emily (1)

Thx again for organizing, Julie!

Julie your room is really close by us and I am traveling with an almost 3 year old little boy - he is potty trained and within 3 weeks of turning 3 so hopefully he will be in the club

Just wondering if the Disney characters have special costumes they wear for the various nights? For example, on "pirate night" do any of the characters have pirate costumes on? Are there opportunities to get your picture with them in special costumes? Or can you just get you picture taken with the characters in their traditional look at the designated times posted in the navigator?

I can't believe it's a month until the cruise. It's taken an age to come around and now we are roaring towards it.

This time in two weeks I'm going to be in a blind panic as it's the night before we fly to America. And DH has just informed me about his work week the week leave. Monday he's in the office, Tuesday he's in Christchurch (the other island, where we had the huge earthquakes), Wednesday he's in the office (so no home office this week) and Thursday and Friday he's on an overnight work retreat! :scared1: We leave Saturday morning and he's basically away most of the days leading up to flying out. Guess who'll be doing all the packing again. I've started making a packing list now.

MC40528 - yes the Characters dress up for things like Pirate Night etc. I've seen loads of pics and they look so cute.

JSG - I'm with you on prepaying but for slightly different reasons, our dollar was high against the USD when we booked so we prepaid everything including the whole holiday. Saved us a heap of our dollars when the dollar dropped 5c against yours recently.

I'm thinking about the beer mug for DH. Is it worth it? I thought it would be a cute thing to bring home. Can you buy it onboard or do you have to pre-purchase?

Ergh, I discovered today that the USA doesn't have Duty Free on Arrival, only Departure. :( We'll haave to bring our Df with us from Auckland and remember to take it off the plane. I'm so used to being able to pre-order DH's requirements and collecting when we come into NZ on the way home that I know I'll leave it all onboard the plane after such a long flight.

Gratuities - I don't prepay but I know there are many that do - and in Marian's case - good for you on the exchange rate! Sadly, my dollar is my dollar and it always seems to be a 1 to 1 ratio. My issue with their charging tips to my account is that I generally tip extra and that is a trip to GS unless I do the extra in cash. Guess I just need to figure it out earlier in the week maybe.

Not much else to report. Isaac seems to have left Punta Cana be - they have rain but not as bad as it could have been. Looks like the panhandle of Florida is going to get it now. Nasty deal, regardless.

Thank you for the info on the gratuities. I read it again in the cruise docs and it says this:

You can pre-pay gratuities for your party up to 3 days before your vacation begins. Please contact you TA.

If you choose not to pre-pay your gratuities, for your convenience, the standard gratuity amounts, based on length of your voyage, will be added to your onboard account as shown in the table below.

If you wish to modify or make changes to the amounts or would like to pay in cash, please stop by our Guest Services desk, located on Deck-3 Mid-ship anytime during your sailing.

Since I don't have to worry about an exchange rate, it seems like, unless I want to pay cash that it is fine to skip the pre-payment an it will be automatically charged and I only have to go to GS if I want to change something.

I hope anyone in Issac's path is safe!
