Sept 23, 2007 Wonder

I'm not sure if the rotation itself can be changed, just if you are on first of second seating. The rotation, which restaurant on which day, would have to stay the same, I think. This is because you have the same servers each night and they have a set rotation. You can request that you start in a different restaurant, though. This will change your servers, too. We like the later seating because it gave us more time in port, and more time to get ready at night. Since you are in each restaurant at least once, I don't think the rotation itself should matter. I think being at Triton's for you actual anniversary might be the best because that is the "dressiest" of the three.

On our 7 day, we had APL rotation (Animator's, Parrot Cay, Lumiere's). We chose that rotation so we were in Parrot Cay for Pirate night and Lumiere's for the formal and semi-formal nights. This also gave us 3 nights in Animator's, so the last night, DW and I had dinner at Palo's while the kids dined with our tablemates.

Honestly, after worrying so much about the rotation for the first cruise, now I don't think it really matters all that much. Perhaps because we had one of the first tables when you walked in to each restaurant, it didn't feel "special" to be in Lumiere's in a tuxedo because nobody really saw us. (If I'm not mistaken there isn't a true formal night on the 4 day cruise which is a shame since I was hoping to get more use out of my tuxedo. )

That said, Parrot Cay for Pirate night was really fun because the decor fit very well with the theme. I will probably try to book our rotation to be in PC for Pirate night again and then just work the rest of the rotation around it.

1 year + 15 days? Seems like it will take forever to get here, but I do remember booking our first cruise one year out and it actually did come (and go too quickly.)

My new fantasy is to book the 3 day back to back w/ our 4 day and have DD join us. That would be like getting to do a double-dip cruise, lol.

Updated 5/04/2007 - Less than 5 months to go!!! :hourglass

Hi everyone, thanks for letting me know about this thread. Dave- I live in CT, what part of the state are you from? Good luck keeping the secret from your wife! I'm going to try and not tell my kids but they keep seeing me look at the Disboards so.... Bob- did you say you have a Mini Cooper? They are so cool, I test drove one last spring but decided against it since my kids are still young. Although my son (who's name is Cooper, incidentaly) is 4 and keeps telling me he's going to buy one and take me on a date to a salad restaurant.:rotfl2:

Hopefull we can add some more people to the list!

Leyla, welcome to the group! Yes, I have a MINI convertible. This is our second MINI - I made the decision to go topless as soon as the convertible was announced.

As we get another blast of winter weather here, I keep day dreaming about the Sept cruise. I keep imagining being back near the buffet with a boat drink, lol.

It will be good to make more connections before the cruise.

I was born in Stamford, CT - and still have some family in New Canaan, but most of us have moved to the Mid-West. I presently live in Lakeville, Minnesota which is south of the Twin Cities.

As far as the secret goes - she's still not aware of anything going on, but believes we'll possibly be going for only a few days to Disney World alone. Things are getting complicated at this point - my oldest son (21) wants to ask his girlfriend of 4 years to marry him. He wants to do that during our trip, so we're trying to work that into the "land" portion of our trip. If that happens, we'll fly all the kids in for that portion. So there are multiple issues of "surprise" involved in our trip.

When you each know your room number and early/late dining time - let us know and we'll add to the above list.

Hi everyone! Glad to see this thread back, I thought we'd lost it. My family is getting more and more excited. Everyone knows we're going. Our friend that is going with us is coming down here (he lives in Michigan) at the end of March. While he's here we're going to have a Disney night, watch the vacation videos and plan our trip. I can't wait. Less than 7 months to go!!
:cool1:  :cheer2:

Good to see this thread coming back!

Hey, I don't know who each of you have booked through (I went through All Seasons), but I just got an increase of $1.37 this month because of a "tax increase." Anyone else get that?

We just got back from a 3 Day on the Wonder, and just couldn't resist another trip to CC, so we rebooked for the Sept 23rd 4 night. We got the little secret in 7620 as well, thanks to this board! It'll be my just my wife and I this time.

Mozart - Welcome! I added you to our list! :grouphug:

Hey Mozrt, Welcome! You'll be right across the hall from us, I think. One of the rooms we've got is 7619. Only about six months to go. Everyone here is getting excited. Our friend from Michigan comes down in a week and a half and we'll be doing alot of talking about our trip then. By that time it will be less than 6 months. Can't wait!!!
 :rotfl: :cool1: :yay:

My room number is 6071 and we have early dining. I live on the other side of the state from Stamford, 5 seconds from Mystic.

Woo Hoo, Leyla! You're two doors down and across the hall from us! Come by and have a cup of coffee with us when you get on board!

Only 92 more days to go! Sigh :sail:

Hi Everyone...

Dave thanks for redirecting me to this thread. Anyway, my wife and I just got back from a "WONDERful" 3 day and had a great time.

We sailed last year (second cruise out of drydock) and they were still "fixing" the place up. Some enhancements - Dumbotron or Arielvison (whichever you prefer), the quiet cove pool now has teak loungers with cushions (Yipee). There were alot of not so obvious upgrades, like carpeting and painting and such...But the ship was in pristine condition both sailings for us.

We sailed Cat 3 this time and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Ashely and the rest of the concierge team could not have been better. If you've never sailed in a suite I highly recommend it. We were in 8522 and had a great view of Castawy and all the restaurants during our sailaway. Poor things sit in their chairs and dream of being onboard...Oh well.

We will be joining you folks in September...This time we're bringing reinforcements with us. Latest count has our group at 13 (Men, Women and Children). We have 3 cabins on deck 7 and 2 suites.

My wife and I eloped in January and haven't told our familes yet...so we decided to do it in true Disney style and have another ceremony on Castaway to "surprise" them. Should be quite an event. Most of the people traveling with us have never been on a cruise so it will make it all that more special.

Anyway, looking forward to some great family time and one heck of a cruise again.

Congratulations on your marriage. That will be neat for you to redo you vows on Castaway Cay. I don't think I could keep a secret like that from my family. How old are the kids that are going to be with you? Less than 6 months to go!!!
:rotfl: ;) :cool1:

Joel - that sounds so cool! If you need any assistance, my wife and I are both ordained clergy, licensed for weddings (though I'm not sure what the law is on Castaway). Sounds like a fun trip coming up for you!

Just figured I'd mention that 6 months from this very moment...

I'll be sitting in Parrot Cay.

Six whole months?!! Hopefully time will fly by. I already feel like 4 days isn't nearly enough time, but with 4 days at WDW beforehand I guess I'll survive. :lmao:

Looking forward to getting to get to know you all better before the cruise. It was very fun having made connections on DIS prior to our first cuise last year.

Wow - 6 months! I've been counting down to June 5th (our anniversary) when I'd be telling my wife about it! Since I made the reservatons 6 months ago, I guess this is the "half-way point."

Well, I'm off for a week at a conference, and then the next week we'll be at Disney World! Time to leave the cold northland! :cool1:

Checking in yes My DH Glenn and I (Ruth) Will be on the 4 night wonder too. My husband wanted to do something different than disney so we booked the 7 night on Royal Caribbean and to be fair we have done disney every year for the last few. Well I know he could live with himself if I did not get to see my beloved Mickey Mouse. So he came up with a game plan

We get off the Mariner of the Seas and walk right next door to Disney. Woot Woot.
