Sept 2012 car rental......

i'm a worrier but no concern at all re using the $35 AA coupon code.

It's been awhile but i was asked to produce a AAA card several years ago in the garage counter (days before kiosks). We then segued to national for a few years due to executive but didn't keep the status last year so back to the trenches;).

Stinks that 'my' local warehouse club (Sams) no longer has IDs that work but as another pointed out, paying going rack rate isn't worth saving $10 or so on a weekly rental imo.:confused3 It's a YMMV type situation imo since there is always the chance you have to prove you're eligible for an affinity discount.

What are the tolls you have to pay once you leave the airport.
How much are they and do you need coin or singles?
Thanks

I believe you'll need to pay for toll twice (if I remember correctly) the cost is $1 or $1.25 each time before you get to WDW. They have cashier but its easier and faster to pay with quarters .

Just got a car reservation with alamo through BJs website. It is for 7 days, fullsize at 119. With tax and surcharges, it came to a little under $170. This is the best I have seen so far for what I have access to. Would love to look for those costco deals, but don't want to have to stress out over not being able to show a card if they ask. At least I do have a BJs membership. Good luck everyone!:goodvibes

I just checked my same reservation using the costco codes, and it came up a total of $117. So annoyed....that's a big difference!! I guess I'll keep an eye out to see if alamo is going to lower their rates in the next week or so. Last November I rented a full size for six days with an entertainment coupon and paid only $106 total. I want that same deal!!!!

Anyone see any movement in mini-van rates? I am currently booked into a mini-van at Alamo from 9/24 - 10/2 for 299 with the AA code and visa or insiders (both same discount..no costco for me)...last year I paid 202 for these same dates...Hoping it starts dropping soon!!

I see that Dollar is $261 inc taxes if you click under City Special Rate.

Where do you see City Special rate? I see specials at top middle tab, but I don't see anything under that tab that would be a city special with that good of a deal

I'm on my phone so not the easiest to navigate but when I go to the Dollar site and enter in MCO for airport and dates and then hit submit the next page has a button linking to City Specials for Orlando.

Have you tried the "city deals" offered for Thrifty and Dollar? No codes needed.

Exactly, with Dollar your best deals are often not entering any special codes, just starting checking a few weeks out. Enter all your info for your rental and when you hit the submit button you should see a button for City Specials (if there are any for that time period), hit that and you will get the best rates (for that day).

We just reserved a mini van from Dollar, and the weekly rate (plus tax/fees) was $165.30. Use the city special.

I just tried both Thrifty and Dollar, rate down to 145, so that sounds good. My question now is, which is better? I have done Alamo for so long I am hesitant to go elsewhere. Thanks for the info!:)

Keep in mind that Dollar charges $10/day for the extra driver if that is important to you.

Yes I did think about that my Alamo rate lets me be a driver also, but I don't know that I would want to. I think I am better off letting DH do the driving.
I am not worried about the $7. Its more if I will have a hard time with Alamo with our Corporate Costco card or not.
