Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Did those hours come out for the August Pop Tarts? I remember waiting for July's. All the parks came out, but then Epcot was a day later. I thought that was weird.

SG,glad you are enjoying the time with your Grandchildren. Also, what a hero you are saving Tom like that.

Bonzi, that's good that they won't make the kids make up school.

Today was the day we have been dreading. Took our beloved Mozart in. DH and I are both sort of walking zombies now. Don't really know what to do with ourselves.

I am so sorry, Melissa. My heart goes out you...sigh...

Timmie, are you all rested up yet? When is your next trip? Will these new deals tempt you to add one, or more?

sad to say I am not one of the lucky ones who get pin codes...

:hug::hug::hug:

still at work.. the whole morning I was complaining how slow it was... welll the last time I had a break was at lunch talking to ANG... and it has been none stop :faint:

Good Morning!

Melissa, thinking of you this morning.

How is everyone feeling?

Tomorrow morning our Jackie, who is almost 14, goes in for surgery to have a tumor removed from her paw and 4 other growths removed by laser, since she'll be asleep anyway. We have a wonderful Vet who is very experienced with seniors, so we know she is in especially good hands. Still, it's always a worry when one our fur-babies must have anesthesia. Please keep her in your thoughts tomorrow? Thanks! :goodvibes

What's on the agenda for today? It's 7:30 a.m. right now and I'm watching The Practice - it's on just about every Saturday/Sunday at 7 & 8 a.m. Have been watching for a few months, but yesterday the series pilot was on, so it will be great to see most of the shows I missed when it was on at 10 p.m. all those years. After days with 2/3/4 yr olds, 10 pm was an hour I rarely experienced. Hey, who I am kidding..I've never been a night owl. ;)

We're off to Mass, some errands, then a home pedicure to get ready for our Mother's Day trip to Charleston. :woohoo:

Enjoy your day!

p.s. I want to go to Disneyland so much I can't stand it..Timmie, up for a trip to DL??? Might be hard to squeeze in between all your WDW trips though. ;)

We can make our ADRs two weeks from today!!!!!! :woohoo:

It's already on my calendar, and I'm looking forward to getting up at 4 am to do so! That's one of the little benefits of living across the country from WDW. Oh well--at least it will be quiet and my cell phone minutes will be free!

TB, since I prepared for the Bird Flu I have ample supplies of most anything. I was once (almost) a Boy Scout and you know their motto. :rotfl: I hate it when folks take advantage of a situation to make unnecessarily high profits off things. It is not just how much money you earn but HOW you earn it.:

We still have cases of water, medicines, and a giant bucket of emergency food from the bird flu, so we're set, too. Totally agree with you on the how of earning money being as important if not more so than the how much. Probably why I didn't make a fortune when I was practicing law. :rotfl:

I guess I forgot to tell you all that I saved Tom's life at lunch yesterday. It happens so frequently that I do not note it often anymore.

Oh, the dreary existence of a Super-Hero--savings one life after another (or rather, one life over and over). Glad you were there so Tom could live to not chew another day. Also glad you're having fun with the grands--wish it could be longer.

State education officials say student will not have to make up the time lost, but the timing couldn't be worse for both schools as they administer the ISTEP test this time of year.
This is from Indy schools.

On the positive side, at least they're not missing much actual education when they miss the standardized tests. Hope everyone is feeling better today, but I wouldn't hesitate to keep ds home. My kids aren't sick, and we don't have any confirmed cases, but my dh still wants to keep them home.

Today was the day we have been dreading. Took our beloved Mozart in. DH and I are both sort of walking zombies now. Don't really know what to do with ourselves.

 I know how hard this process has been for you, and my thoughts are with you.

sad to say I am not one of the lucky ones who get pin codes...

You and me both--I think they know they got us!

:thumbsup2 Best of luck to Jackie!

I am home. Exhausted but had a fun time.

Welcome back!

Nothing much going on around here today. It's cold, rainy, windy--in other words, it's the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, my brother and sil are in WDW right now, and ds's teacher's assistant is leaving for WDW at the end of the week--waaaa!

Thank you for the thoughts everyone. Last night was hard. Too quiet, I'm use to Mozart snoring. My other little Boston, Constanze, is following me around more than usual. We had a good laugh last night. Flipping channels and saw that "Gangs of New York" was on and DH asked if I remember how we tried to watch that many years ago. See, we were watching it and I was trying to feed the dogs when I realized I hadn't seen Mozart in awhile. I had been in the garage earlier with the door open and started to get worried that he had gotten out. So, we both hopped in our cars and kept asking Jacob if he had seen him. Jacob was 5 at the time. After about 30 minutes, we are in the truck and Jacob says, "Mozart's in my closet. Can I go watch my show now?" Sure enough, we get home, open Jacob's closet and there is Mozart just looking at us like we are the stupidest humans in the world. So, we are making our way through this.

M&N Jackie is in my prayers and so are you. It's scary even when they are young.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. :goodvibes

Melissa,
So sorry to hear of your loss and how much you loved Mozart that you went through so much these past few weeks with him. I am sure he experienced the best of love while he was with you. It is nice to remember those good memories of when they were with us. Leave it to a boy to put a dog in his closet. lol

M&N,
You and Jackie are in my thoughts and prayers wishing for the best.

Linda,
I can picture you as a boy scout too. I was a boy scout leader for a few years with Will but I do not stock up. I guess I didn't learn what I was meant to learn in that position. I do have a first aid kit in my car and a drawer in the house full of first aid supplies though does that count. lol

I have never, ever recieved a Disney discount and I am signed up for just about everything on the net concerning Disney. I have given up hope.

Cheryl,
Glad your back and that you had a fun time.

TB,
You were a lawyer? Cool.

Lucky you who get to get up early in two weeks to make ADR's. I have to wait till July 1st. Thank goodness some of my wait will be spent at Disney. lol

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Ang

M&N, I am so sorry to hear that you are going through a rough time with your baby. I hope all is well soon. BTW, I was funning you about the cyber hugs and how dangerous they could be too. :goodvibes Jackie was my mom's name and is my daughter's name as well. I am sorry that none of those folks thought to ask you along on their trips. You could have been their guide and a darned good one too!:yay:

Melissa, I cannot imagine the pain, never having a pet. However since I believe that caring for something is what forms the bond of love I can imagine that. Just know that you gave him the best life he could have had and may the many happy memories see you through this difficult time. I love the closet story. Bet it is funnier now than then though.

Ang, I am shocked, truly shocked that you are not a plan ahead type of person. I would have bet money on that one. BTW, my grandson says to tell you that there is an empty building nearby, six bays, just right for a trucking company. I think he is comtemplating future employment. He would love to meet Will sometime. He gives great tours of the farm. :woohoo:

TB, you are such a hoot! Tom is one lucky man in that I have morals. Inconvenient as they might be, I have 'em. Along with a strong sense of responsibility. Since the second life saving required me to beat the living daylights out of him it was really my pleasure. :rotfl2: BTW, I love my grands to pieces and they have been a delight but I am ready for them to go home. I need sleep. Not that I think I am going to get any as I just found out that the older one has a project on Romeo and Juliet due tomorrow and he has not started it. I am just lucky in that it is a play I know well and can recite in my sleep. :rotfl: I know the phone is going to be ringing after they get home. A lawyer huh? We have one in our family as well. He does not like me to quote Shakespeare to him. "First we kill" etc. etc. etc. :rotfl:

Ants, I have not received a code either but I am certain that general offers are coming and who knows what they will bring. Discounts on rooms, free food and even 10% off AP's are here so who knows what is to follow? I am already crunching numbers. :teacher:

Cheryl, welcome home and we shall wait for a full report when you get your brain back in gear. :woohoo:

Diva K, we were watching TV and saw where the practice thing came down on the football team. I guess such a big state just has far more than its share of 'stuff'. Hoping it will stop and let you guys rest for a bit though. :wizard:

My home network is down. My modem is blinking red. Never seen that before. Yes, I have unplugged it , waited and then plugged it back in. Same stuff. Guess I will be learning something new tomorrow.

I am going to set three vcr's tonight because there is no way that I am going to be able to stay up very late. Have a full day tomorrow as well. No rest for the wicked.

Good night children, I will come by and tuck you all in later, in your dreams, or nightmares, you choose. :rotfl:

:rotfl:You know, I had to go back and read what you said about viruses - at the time I thought you meant a computer virus had possibly caused the lack of font color!! DUH, it went right over my head. Yep, I knew you were funnin' about cyber hugs though, sweetie!

But what did I say about folks not asking me along on their trips? Hmm, that does not ring a bell..:confused3..ya know, this old brain can only recall so much!! :rotfl: Gosh only knows what I was babbling about ....comes and goes so quickly these days. :upsidedow

Thank you to everyone for the good wishes for our Jackie tomorrow.

Rest well, my friends. (Melissa, )

Three schools closed in the Tampa area today, but not Jacob's. Guess it has made it's way to our area. Jacob has a cough but I know it is just sinuses/allergies. No fever or anything like that.

Any of you with annual passes I just noticed they are having a special fireworks presentation on June 20th. Sounds really cool, I hope we can get in to see it. Don't know if DH will want to. Since being in Iraq, the sound of shells being fired isn't too appealing to him. When we were at MK back in June, he came off the teacups during Wishes and the sound really surprised him. He just wasn't expecting it.

Hope everyone's Monday is off to a good start. Think I will go walk my other dogs, Bubblegum and Constanze. Have a good day!
:grouphug:

Good Morning!

Melissa, how are Bubblegum and Constanze doing today? Are they morning Mozart in any way? How are you all doing?

How far are you from Tampa? Guess there is no way to know if your school district will decide to close...all a wait and see kind of thing.

I've read that schools with even one suspected case have closed - I don't know if that is going too far... don't want the students to be sick, but hope it does not cause them more work.

Jackie is at the Vet - I hate the waiting b/c no idea when we can pick her up. Hope Dr Kennedy calls us right after the procedure. Poor baby doesn't know what's happening, but hope by the end of the week she will be feeling much better.

Have good Monday everyone! Hope everyone is feeling well today.

M&N, hope you get the call from the Vet soon. I always hated waiting to hear from them.

The girls seem ok, but Constanze is the one I worry about. She is 12 now, so her and Mozart were together a long time. We did notice she is now sleeping on the bed with us instead of under it. Maybe Mozart just took up too much room for her. Bubblegum and Mozart didn't get along too well, so no real problem there.

I just saw on another thread that a school in Jacksonville is now closed. Guess we will hear more and more of this.

Hey everyone!

MS,
Glad to hear you all are doing well today. When our male shih tzu died several years ago our female we have now acted like nothing was different which surprised me. They got along well but she is more of an independant doggie and just acted like no biggie.

We have 3 schools closed here too for kids who are sick and suspected of having a flu. Too bad it isn't a 24 hour test to make sure it seems to take a week to find out for sure.

M&N,
No worries about the kids falling behind the days off and work doesn't need to be made up from what I understand. This flu seems to be a nice excuse for the schools to take a break. A friend and I are taking bets on when our school will close. We are in till the last week of May so I am guessing that week and then they will cancel graduation too. My friend thinks it will close sooner. We shall see.

Linda,
I have plenty of food and water it just isn't in the basement or ready to go in case of a tornado. I am kind of warped and I figure if the house is going to blow down I will have to pick my way through stuff to find the food and water no matter where I put it. That is if we are still alive. It just isn't something I worry about.

If we get a bad storm with tonado warnings I do put the dogs in their cage and have my purse and laptop ready to bring down to the basement with me but that is about all the prep I do.

Ang

Kristin,
I could not believe on AR last night that the girls lost because one had to pee at the final destination. I would have held it in as hard as I could and if worst case senerio peed my pants before I would have stopped and lost. lol

I am starting to hope Tammy and Victor win now.
