Got a question, just saw the DHS is celebrating 20 years on Friday. Jacob doesn't have school. Do you think they will do anything special? I know 3 of the imagineers will be speaking but anything else?

I know what you mean about the flu thing, they have 4 cases here in Massachusetts now too...2 in Lowell and 2 in Spencer, all 4 people were in Mexico recently!

Hey folks! I am guessing that folks are going to be staying closer to home with the threat of Swine Flu. I do not run with the international crowd so I feel fairly safe though. Something I had not thought of is to avoid buffets and such. Most of our food service people around here are from Mexico and that is something to think about as well. Tom and I both have chronic lung diseases so it would not be good for either of us. My heart breaks at the news that a young boy died in Texas.

I pretty much have the bathroom back in some sort of order. Will take a couple of weeks to dry out the floor though. I have a fan running but can only run it when Tom is not here because he will trip over it.

Ang, without the Internet? Pity poor Will. She will have far more time to pay attention to his homework and whether or not his room is clean and she is such a good mom that she already pays a lot of attention to such things. Hope you are back soon, Ang. Might try to call you tonight, just to relieve your boredom.

WIC, I hope they are able to contain the flu in your area. Please take care?

M&N, I forgot to say how nice it was to see you back here yesterday. We miss you when you are not around ya know?

I am taking myself to town tomorrow. I have a doctor's appt and some shopping that HAS to be done. I made up a card to put in Tom's wallet in case of emergency. I figure if he is well enough to go to the CC he is well enough to be left alone for a couple of hours and besides if I drop over from no medical attention (or food) he would be alone anyway. As long as he is doing what he wants and there are not disruptions to his routine he will be fine, I think.

Hey if he can't walk at disney get him a scooter. I have the info on one scooter place I looked up for a friend if you need the info let me know. Only problem there is I am sure your biggest fear with that is that Tom will plow everyone over if he drives one and you would rather see him fall into people causing less aftermath.

We have the piggy flu here in Illinois now too. We also have a very high hispanic population who went on vacation to Mexico for Easter but that was a month ago so we should be safe in that regard.

I was listening to Dr. OZ who said that by Friday they will have a solid idea on what will happen with this flu. I also heard that there may be more death in Mexico because of the conditions and lack of nutrition and less will happen here. Just be hopeful.

I think my biggest concern living where I do is the effect it will have on all the hog farmers and the hog processing plant which is the biggest employer in the town Will goes to school in. People are afraid to eat pork now.

Ok smarty pants. I am afraid to look in Will's room so I did not do that when bored yesterday. He might be having a party with Remy up there for all I know. Also no homework the teachers are too busy in end of year meetings to give any. I would so rather he do his own homework and only get involved when he asks for help which really isn't often. I am so glad elementary school is over so I don't have to help so much now.

You can call me tonight anyway if you want to.

Enjoy your day out without Tom. On his emergency card you should your BIL phone number so if he takes out a public toilets they will call him for reimbursment. lol

How kind of you to be worried about Tom. Should I add YOUR info so that he can be shipped to you?

My bil, as much as he loves his brother, does not share quite the same level of responsibility that I feel. His take is to leave Tom in his chair, with the remote, and if he is still alive when I get home, good and if not, oh well. Since said bil is a retired judge/lawyer I doubt that anyone would want to dun him for any repairs that might be needed post Tom. He would glad to pass it on to me though.

Honestly, folks, I really am worried about the man. He is faltering, big time. I think if he would just get up and walk and get some strength he would be better but he really loves doing nothing, always has, nothing new.

Oh, my friend, my friend, ...we know you care about Tom and would not want anything to happen to him (neither do we). I am sorry if I sounded otherwise in my pp. I understand completely that you must take hom to Disney during the holidays and would not make any other choice myself. I just wish you could have some respite to take of you...so you can continue to take care of both of you.

I remember when I began to be very concerned about my dad. When he and my mother came for Toby's funeral/life celebration, my dad was sort of shuffling and looked frail, even tho he was 6'1" and 210 lbs. He and my mother lived nearly as a recluse and it was taking a toll. He soent his days watching TV/videos with tiny headphones so not to bother my mother in the other room...where she was watching TV.

Please know I will be holding Tom (and you) very near in heart and thoughts.

Tom has always been extremely lassitudeinal, is that a word? Plain and simple, I am mad at him. I am mad at him for wasting his good health. Irrational maybe, but it is how I feel. He is so darned proud of having me to do all the work. Maybe this is an experiment to see what kills faster, sloth or overwork? I am betting on him to win most days but then there are those when I am not so sure.

It is hard to see those we care for faltering and I am sure it was hard for you to watch your parents but it is a blessing that you were there for them.

Separate bathrooms and TV's have made many a marriage survive.

Anywho, back to dreaming Disney dreams. I am so excited for those who will be leaving soon and relatively soon. Have any of you caught the thread that a newbie has started on AK, Studios and MK where she is compiling all the info on each park? It is an awesome bunch of threads and I am surprised that no one has thought of it before.

Stayed late at the CC. Was packed up and ready to leave when a young girl caught me in the hall and wanted one more book. I am so easy.

Going to try to go to town tomorrow. Youngest grandson is in a talent contest tomorrow night. It will be his first official debut. He has done church stuff but for some reason they forbid him to ad lib.

concert tickets for $200 plus parking plus gas = $240 and thats without snack OK.... against Going to Disney for 3 nights for $300 and that includes airfare ???? well ????

I was asked by a friend... and she did not like my answer (go to Disney and forget about Elton John and Billy Joel by the DVD and bring the DVD with you and watch it at the resort when you go back at night )

M&N, ya mean that you are human and sometimes think 'bad' thoughts? Who would have thunk? It is the fact that you care about doing so that makes you angelic. So there! I would pay $300 to hear Billy Joel and Elton John but do not think I would survive the crowd. Not many folks I would even think of doing so for either. Love their singing but I would NOT like to ride in a car driven by Billy Joel though.

Timmie, I do not doubt that you are capable of kidnapping us all and taking us for a trip to remember. Unfortunately, even though I am also capable of thinking 'bad' thoughts I would not act on them. I am a responsible person and live up to my obligations. The September trip was an exception and not likely to ever occur again. Did you take pictures of yourself dusting the resort? I have never been invited back to the housekeeping and I know lots of them, their children and how they are doing in school etc. I will have to look up where you stayed as I do not think I have heard of that before. Probably far more than I would pay though.

Ang, I seldom get company so I was surprised last night. I think it was my guardian angel that arranged for the visit because it was the son of a dear friend who has kindly offered to switch the bathroom door so it swings out instead of in. When dealing with Tom you cannot change him so you must change his surroundings. There is going to be a whole lot less eating out around here with all of these expenses. For once it is something that affects Tom more than I. I am going to do some research on Germany's medical plan. Sounds interesting. I am sorry about having to cut and run.

DMJess, I am not good at putting links and such on so I suggest you just do a search on IMTink and her posts. She is new and there are only a few and most of them are on the three threads of AK,MK and the Studios. It promises to be something that could be printed out and have better info than many of the tour books that are sold. I am sorry.

Heavy rain here today so I am cleaning house in preparation for my grandsons who will be spending the weekend with me. Big surprise, Tom has decided to go to his brother's for the weekend. Kids make him nervous. Always have. Works for us though. Youngest grandson is in a talent contest this evening. It is sure to be a blast. I hope to tape it. Will wait to go to the doctor for my blood tests and such tomorrow so I can meet bil halfway and do my grocery shopping before I have to pick dgs up from school. Older grandson thinks he is going to make an end run about dear old granny. He does not suspect that I used to be young once myself and know all the tricks.

you dont need to pay any extra dollars to hang out with them they are everywhere... one "friend" I know have entertained Angela on her last trip... Jose.. he is the power washer CM after midnight at POP he works from 11 to 7 or 12 to 8 and powerwashes the grounds by the pool area and by the buses area.. sometimes he power drains the pool by Angela's room


how did I met him and his crew?? was doing laundry and was sitting by the pool while waiting... I said hello.. and he said hello back... then thats it... I bet at some point by the time they see me pull out of the parking lot they give out that heavy sigh... "Good.. she is gone"

Okay, not really, but I could sure use a few days away in a quiet place like a monastery...thing is, I might want to stay and that would not work out so well. Besides the fact that religious communities (for the most part) will not take anyone my age (guess they have a direct link to God and know what He thinks and who He invites to be vowed religious ), I have my responsibilities here: one Miss Sophia Maria.

Today will to do yet another search for monasteries within a reasonable distance to see about a few days of R&R...I've searched before without success - after all, this is not Catholic country , but it gives me something to do while Sophia sleeps and even reading the websites is nice.

Back to our normally scheduled Disney discussion....sorry for the interruption.

SG - one of these years we are going to have a delightful time at WDW, sitting on a bench people watching and smelling the roses..I can just feel it in me bones.

I am glad to hear about your angel visitor and that he can help you with that door. You enjoy your weekend. Wish Will had a grandma like you as sadly, the 2 he has could care less if they ever see him let alone spend time with him. The saddest thing is they are the losers as William would dote on them if they gave him a little attention.
