More importantly, was the door open or closed?
TB, unfortunately it was closed. It is a small bathroom and he was behind the door so I could not get it open. He could not have been there long, looking at the amount of water that had spilled out all over the place.(which was still substantial) Now I have to see if I can get the door installed to open out instead of in. You cannot change Tom you have to adapt. He was freaking out but was able to get up when he realized that I could not get in to get him.
Timmie, I surely do hope that this swine flu thing is being blown all out of proportion. A certain amount of folks, usually young, elderly or sick, die of regular flu each year. I would love to have a world where such things did not happen but it is not likely and the media scaring everyone to death in the name of ratings is not going to help. JMO BTW, Tom loved all the attention he got at the hospital.
JM, the mom in me wants to ask what you were doing in a motel with your dh before you were married but I will resist.

Bathrooms are dangerous places. I have indoor/outdoor carpet in all of mine to make them slip resistant, and also because it is cheaper and easier for me to replace when Tom flushes and then stands there watching it overflow.
M&N, no way could I go on the December trip without Tom. It is his favorite time of the year to go. It would be cruel. I hide my frustrations behind sarcasm but I ain't cruel. Yet. I worry about taking him down there and having something happen to him but I worry about me being down there and having something happen to me more. Tom has me. I only have Tom.

Ang, if we lived in a newer home I would be looking at thousands in repairs. As it is the majority of the water went through the poplar floor into the basement and down the drain. Blessings. Glad I will be able to open up the doors and air the place out as well. Life is good, not great, but good is alright.
I just snuck a peek and the new toliet is not an American Standard. I hope it is not repair prone. I do not need more. The other one was in the house when we bought it nearly 33 years ago. Should be interesting to see how long it takes Tom to break one of this generation toilets.
Tom cannot understand that his actions have ramifications. He might have broken his hip or worse. He thinks that I can fix anything. I can't.
Thanks for letting me vent. I will shut up now. There are people with real problems today.
