Back to cleaning...
9.gif

Cleaning makes me  not feel better. :rolleyes1 I try to only clean when nobody is home. I complain and moan about it and it is easier when someone isn't yelling what did you say cause they think I am saying something important. :rotfl: Looks like you are enjoying the cleaning.

M&N,
Glad you got your quicker boxes of cookies.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Linda,
Thank you for the kind words. I agree if we lived in a populated area I could get him done with school in half the time at home. It would be easier for me because I know him inside and out and understand exactly what he needs to learn. :thumbsup2 Only problem with that is then I would have to run our company, get a second job to pay for higher housing costs, and home school which could be a problem. :scared1:

Faster internet you lucky girl you. Another problem with living in the country is that the choice is dial up or satalite that costs a fortune. Like when cleaning I often complain and moan at the computer for being too slow. :rotfl:

How are you doing with getting stronger and feeling better?

Ang

It would be easier for me because I know him inside and out and understand exactly what he needs to learn.

That is exactly what I was thinking Ang. I just did not want to give you the big head. :rotfl: There are many good parents who would not be fit to teach their children, you would though. Most teachers are good but there are those who need to be kicked to the curb. I know an older lady who is a retired teacher who hates kids. Some teachers are better for some students while others are good for others. As much as I would love to be able to do it I cannot reach some kids. It sure does warm the cockles of my heart when I do though. I work with the difficult ones and that makes each success that much more special.

Got to share this with you. I have two brothers who constantly disturb everyone and always need to be the center of attention so I asked them to start helping me and it has been a huge success. They feel important, and do indeed help me, and they no longer disturb the other children. Wonder how long it will last? :rotfl:

I have the thank you card up in a place of honor I think my grandsons are getting jealous of Will. :lmao:

Oldest grandson coming after school, he is broke again. I am running out of work for him to do so I am going to put him to caulking the basement walls today.

I think I am feeling better. I had some other problems recently so it makes it a bit difficult. My next heart appt is the 22nd and she will tell me if I am doing well or not. I am planning on calling for a December vacation this weekend. Good sign, very good sign. :cool1:

BTW, you had mentioned you needed a Mickey.

SG

Diva K, you walk and I will watch. Deal?:)

My email addy will be changing next Friday, will send the change to anyone I have an email addy for ASAP. I am saving about $25-30 a month. Hope the service is good. My internet will be several times faster than what I have. Goodie!!

Truth be told I haven't gotten much done yet...I prefer to clean when no one is home too...unfortunatley DH is home, Diva Becky called and I keep checking in here...slow and steady wins the race...

Diva K, and all of you youngsters.

Never let your husbands retire. It is impossible to clean around them and I promise you it is impossible to clean faster than they mess up. Have heard of hubbies who take over and reorganize everything in the house so I guess it could be worse. :lmao:

I have a delightful mess as my grandson was just here and he took out a shelf in the bookcase and drilled a hole for the wires for my new TV, if I can afford one.

They came and fixed my furnace today, took all of 15 minutes, if that and it cost over $110. They are right down the block from us. The good news is that they are honest and do not charge for stuff they do not do. I was also advised that while my water heater is working fine it is leaking and must be replaced.:scared1: That is what I get for commenting to someone that I had not decided what household projects I would do this year. There may not be any money in the household budget for anything else this year. Could be worse.

Diva K, you come up with the best and cutest things.

SG

Diva K, that was exactly what I was thinking but was afraid to say. I do the same sometimes. :lmao: Yep, love them smilies.

Back to my mess, Linda Lou

SG, yes the hubby is Air Force.

Diva K, I love all of your smilies also.

As hard a time as my DH gives me for being on the DisBoards, I get a lot of additional info and knowledge that isn't Disney related. I appreciate your suggestions for my kiddo. He is a little puzzle. When he is having a good day, he is just the sweetest child, but when he is off, he is really off. You never know what you are getting.

Me and DH are still fighting this sinus thing. I think I am on my way to being over it. I need to so I can get all of the Christmas decorations put up.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Melissa

I know you were all waiting with bated breath...well I finally finished cleaning my house! And it only took me @12 hours :headache:

Hope all who are feeling under the weather are a better today. ::yes::

It is sunny and cold here today (well, in the upper 40's which is cold for here). I miss crisp the Fall days of New England, fresh snow....but absolutely love that Spring arrives here on time and by March 20 trees and flowers are in full bloom.

Hopw you all have good weather and a wonderful Saturday! We're taking down all the Christmas decorations too. I'm so ready!

Diva K, I have found that having a clean house only lasts for a brief moment or two, according to how many folks are in the family and if they come home. I once had a moment when my house was entirely clean and I had just sat down with a cold glass of iced tea when the doorbell rang. When I opened the door over a dozen small people invaded my house demanding toys and treats. My grandson had assured his daycare provider that they had been invited to my house on their way home from the park. :lmao: When it was time for them all to go we were missing one small boy, who was found holding onto the pool table leg for dear life. He asserted that he was not leaving and indeed he did not.

M&N, my hubby was in the Marine Corps and I have many family members who were Army and even a couple Navy but I agree with you that the AF treats their folks the best. My bil has a great retirement after only working for 20 years. I hope you got all the decorations down. How did Sophia take that? :)

jmskinner, I concur with you as to the value of surfing the boards. As with all things it depends on what you look for but I have saved hundreds, thousands of dollars during the years and gained much useful knowledge, in addition to being an excellent Free Cell player. I always say "When in doubt Google".

My hunky grandson came over and took the shelf out of the bookcase and routed holes for the cords in preparation for a new TV to go with all my new services. Might have to wait awhile as the furnace repair was over $110 for 15 minutes work and I was also advised that I need a new hot water heater. And to think that I was worried about what I would find to do with the money I budget for home improvements this year. :rolleyes1 $10 went to the hunky grandson who also brought his girlfriend over to play Wii. I love it!

Life is good, SG

Yes, I feel Air Force is the best also. It is what I recommend. Hubby will mark his 16th year this year. Only 4 more to go until retirement, unless he pins on Col. and then they will make him stick around a year or two longer. Military has a way of doing that. He plans to start looking for his next career in the next year or two. Doesn't want to work anywhere near a base.

Diva K, glad you got the house clean. Want to come clean mine? It will take me at least two days to get the Christmas decorations put up. I have a bunch of Boyds Bears Sandstone figures to put up. I have all of the original boxes, so each one is like a puzzle to put together.

Feeling better, but still exhausted, so my plan is to work a little, then rest, and then work some more. I want to get better. Would love to go to WDW next weekend to check out the crowds. I decided against the photography class. It was a beginning photography, but they will offer it again. They have a beginning SLR in February and will sign up for it. I have really enjoyed the new camera. I think I took over 2000 pics while at WDW over Christmas.

The hubby is feeling better also and plans to drive to St. Pete to find a comic book store. He will take the boy, so both men will be out of the house. Now, if I could just get rid of the dogs.:lmao:

jmskinner, my bil had the same situation in that if he had taken the offer of Colonel he would have had to stayed a few years longer. He is content in his retirement and never intended to work again after the AF. it was his plan from childhood. When I worked at Fort Ben the retired military folk could get a jump in line and rank if they applied for a job. Having the possibility of TWO pensions sure sounds good. One of my other bil's travels to different countries on assignments, high pay and no taxes if he is out of the country for the majority of the year. The military is great training for many things.

Maybe if you mention to your dh that you read that women are attracted to guys with dogs you might accomplish your mission.

Good luck, Linda

Well, the DH left, the kid decided to stay home and two of my dogs have decided to have upset stomachs so now I have to get the rug shampooer out. Think the current bag of dogfood will be thrown out, it has really been upsetting their stomach.

SG, well, DH will be about 45 when he retires, so he plans on continuing to work. I don't know if he can make it in the civilian world. Some of the things they do at work, I keep telling him he would be fired in the "real" world.:rotfl:

Well, off to get out the rug shampooer and then will pry Jacob from the couch and make him help me with the Christmas decorations.

Good afternoon everyone!!! Now it is my turn to clean and DS is helping but giving me a hard time about it. I guess he wouldn't be a kid if he didn't so I sent him to clean his room this way I can't hear him grumble. lol

Melissa,
When DH goes for a drive somewhere and I need a break we make DS go. My DS is a mamma's boy all the way and will admit it so he needs to be told he is going like it or not.

Kristine,
So glad you finally got the cleaning done. It feels good doesn't it. At least for the short time it stays clean. Like Linda says it is everyone else who destroys our work. lol

Linda,
When DH retires I know he will be the type to reorganize everything because he is forever looking for something to do. I will welcome it when he does. It will then give me something more to do when I put it all back the way I want it. lol

Ang

P.S. How is everyone else? I am not naming names for fear of leaving someone out.

Hey all! how's it going? I haven't stopped in much lately but there hasn't been much to say. Work is keeping me busy but so is DD, DH, PTA, dance classes, etc. Whew!
DH had to work all day today. I sent Evie to play with a friend while I went to get myself a pedicure. It was wonderfully relaxing! The weather here today was fabulous. I should have taken advantage of the day & paid my brick pave patio back down. We pulled it up when we had the yard graded & sodded in the fall. However, I decided that I didn't want to ruin my nails by crawling around in the backyard, spreading buffer stone! Sure, they'd be inside my tennis shoes, but why risk it?:lmao:

Tonight at the Virginia Living Museum there will be a lser light show. We're thinking about going to the show. I guess it really depends on what time hubby gets home.

What are you guys doing this weekend?

Well, got one of the small trees down. One more small one and the big one to go, plus all the other stuff I feel necessary to put up. I get crazy at Christmas.

Ang, how old is your son? Jacob normally goes with Daddy, but for some reason he just wasn't into it. Think we took him to many places over Christmas break. He did go next door and play with the neighbor. So, that was really good. I was afraid he would overstay his welcome, but they had something to go do, so he was home after a couple of hours. Oh, and you had asked about Language Therapy. Yes, it is the same as speech, but the previous therapy place called it Language because it is not working on the articulation of his speech, but his tone and how he relates to others. He talks softly, or he sounds angry. Plus, he doesn't look you in the eye, etc.

Off to cook supper now and work on getting more Christmas put up.
Melissa

I am not naming names for fear of leaving someone out.

My gosh, I am always afraid of that, so hesitate to try to name everyone who has posted! I do read all the posts and think of each of you and what's going on, but I can so easily miss someone when posting.

..sigh..so tired tonight...no Christmas decorations boxed up - that will have to be tomorrow. Although my sil did get all the outisde lights, wreath etc down. Oh! I did take the wreath off my bedroom door (so I can see it inside my room when the door is closed) and the Christmas lights around the inside of the door...now my room seems so dull that I am going put white lights around the door and a dried floral wreath. :)

Still waiting for the box to store the decoration from my room. If I could have gotten it out myself these would have been down last week. ;)

Tomorrow, tomorrow ...it's only a day away. lol

Have a good evening! Timmie, don't work too hard!
