Sorry I've been pretty much MIA lately. Darned real life. I've checked in a few times, but never took the time to post, so here goes.
Welcome new peeps!
Poohbear: Hope all went well with the cleaning last night--I know it couldn't have been easy.
Timmy: Sorry/glad your mom left. I know you miss her/are happy to have your life back. I have the same relationship with my dad--love him, love to spend time with him, and love to see him head for home as well! Count me in on the Mountain Dew fan club, but understand if I pass on anything from you in fear that it might contain your "secret recipe."
J/K--I worked in a "carppy" restaurant many, many years ago, and oh the tales I could tell. . . .
Linda: Hope you have fun at Slumdog! At least you know how your dd is likely to behave, so you can set your expections low. Low expectations are the key to not being disappointed!
jmskinner: Ugh--computer problems.
BTDT too many times, but couldn't life without them either! Glad they're solved, and too funny about the "slam" making it work.
Kris: Typhoon Lagoon all the way! I love the slides, but we could spend all day floating in the lagoon riding the waves. Thanks for the flair, and I'm really trying to carve out some time next week to set up FB.
Cheryl: Thanks for the FB tip! Next week, fingers crossed.
Ang: We were also all
last week, but are finally on the mend, too. My dd is Twilight obsessed, so I'm sure once I do get on FB she'll hack in and explore Vampire Wars. Then I'll never get the computer.
Wic: So sorry to hear about your layoff, but glad you're feeling better about it. It's a challenge, but also an opportunity to try something new. Good luck!
M&N: Sorry about your financial troubles, and your dsil's job issues. It's everywhere these days.
My dh was in line for a transfer from WA state to TX, but now it looks like a layoff is more likely (after 10 years with the company). Probably just as well, as selling our house would be a nightmare, and dh is less than enthusiastic about his current employer. At least the timing is good--we expect he'll be finished there right around the beginning of summer when the kids get out of school, so we should be able to all spend some time together. We have a little boat that we like to take out camping, and dock space is much easier to find during the week than on the weekend.
Of course, all this comes just as dd's orthodontist (who has been monitoring her teeth for 3 years) decides it's time to put braces on.
When it rains, it pours, right? At least the next Disney trip is already paid for, so we weren't too tempted to cancel it. 3 weeks from today, we'll be waking up at POP!
Have a great weekend, everybody!
