Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

JM, are you in the Orlando area or are you over by Tampa. I got a dreadful cold. I don't celebrate Christmas.

I'm in the Tampa area. Wish I was in the Orlando area. I could see myself dropping off my son and going to Disney for the day.

Not even close. I haven't even pulled things out of the attic yet. I don't decorate until mid-December... somewhere between the 10th & 15th, I guess.
Me either...we usually get a live tree so we don't decorate inside until mid December...but since we won't be home for Christmas we aren't putting up anything inside...we will still put some lights up outside on the bushes, we have two grapevine deer that light up and light up topiaries for either side of the front door...
Shopping...still haven't been to a store since before Thanksgiving (DH went to get milk on Sunday!) Trying to do as much as I can online and having it shipped to my parents in PA :surfweb:
Haven't even bought Christmas cards yet...:scared:

I have an entire room, in the basement, filled with Christmas decorations but since I can barely get up and down the stairs by myself I have not been able to get them up the past couple of holidays. Thanks to my oldest grandson I do have two small trees and a Nativity scene this year. Very sparse but sort of elegant looking. You all would drool if you could see all the Disney animations and decorations I have down there. Maybe next year. I used to win awards for decorating our home but those days have passed.

Some interesting news. My daughter called me last night (mom of the two grandsons I brag on all the time) and informed me that she had taken the day off for my heart procedure. Since she did not do so for my gallbladder surgery or cancer surgery I was surprised. Also a bit scared as she came to visit me after my gallbladder surgery and spent the time hollering at me for crying when I watched the Katrina news. Should be interesting. See, family problems run in both directions. Gotta love them though.

My cards are mostly done, mainly because I am sending cyber cards to everyone I possibly can. :woohoo:

Ran into two of my 'kids' yesterday and had a wonderful chat with them. I love seeing how they turned out as adults. :teacher:

Sounds as if everyone is feeling a bit better and has at least started on getting ready for the season. That is the hardest part. I recommend doing what we do for Disney, make a Master List. Without it I would be more lost than I already am. :rotfl:

jmskinner, I may be your neighbor one day as I have a friend, down there right now, who is begging me to buy a place near her in Clearwater. :cheer2: It is only two hours to Disney, plan a sleepover for your child and you are free for a short trip. :woohoo:

I have a fresh coat of hair dye on so that I am decorative as well. Might even put on some eye shadow sometime and scare the heck out of my family. I am getting fancy in my old age. Just promise me that if I should dye my hair jet black and bring out the bright red lipstick that you will have me committed, as I should be. :cool1:

SG

SG, just 3 miles from me is Valencia Lakes. I guess it is a retirement community/active adult community. Looks really nice! I haven't been over to Clearwater, but heard it is really nice.

I'm glad your daughter is coming to see you and hopefully no screaming will occur this time.

My mother and I always seem to argue when we get together. Guess we are both stubborn. But I can't wait for her to come at Christmas time. Just hope she wants to go to WDW.

I have a question for all my new friends out here. So, I ordered myself a Christmas present on Thanksgiving morning. A new camera. This is suppose to be from my hubby. Now he is telling me I have to wrap it and put it under the tree. I want to open it and use it to take pics, especially WDW and all the Christmas decorations. Am I being bad for wanting it now. I'm not expecting anything else from him under the tree.

Good morning everybody. I discovered a great series of books that are sucking me in so I am not reading the dis so much.

JMSkinner,
I lauged about your camera because I already opened DH gift to me. I saw DH buy it and it will just sit in the living room taking up space till Christmas so I decided to save the space. lol DH laughed and said I was supposed to wait and I told him hey I don't know if tomorrow will be my last day here so I am going to enjoy it today. I said "just think of the waste if I am not here to enjoy it." His response was "well then I would return it and get my money back so I could buy me something." What a guy, huh. lol

:lmao: That is exactly what my husband would say to me.

So, what books are you reading?

Sounds like our DH's both have that warped sense of humor. Gotta love them at least mine makes me laugh and lets me give it right back to him.

The books are the Stephenie Meyer, Twilight series. My DS loves them so I had to see what he liked so much. He also had to see the movie. I was surpised how I got sucked in but I am. lol

Take the camera out, use, enjoy but wrap up the empty box so you have something under the tree and to unwrap Christmas morning :santa:

Two of the Divas are really into these books...one even went to the midnight showing of the movie when it came out! popcorn::
They gave me Twilight (the first one?) to try but I haven't started it yet....it just doesn't seem like it (vampires) would be my cup of tea:coffee:
I've never read the Harry Potter series (because I am not into wizards :wizard: ) but have always been curious because its such a world wide phenomenon...maybe I need to expand my horizons :scratchin

Hello everyone!!!

Timmy,
Lots of pixie dust headed your way.

Wic,
I have been thinking about your parents and wondering how their health is doing? Is your mother done with all her treatments? Sending them some pixie dust too just in case.

Ang

Hi Ang,

Mom is still getting her monthly chemo treatments, she's doing well on this..she had an appt when I was in Disney a couple weeks ago, guess her numbers went down 7 points!:thumbsup2

Dad goes for an ultrasound tomorrow, and a biopsy next month.....so we're still waiting to see what's going to happen with him! Cancer s*cks!

I had to stay home with Kellie today, because she's sick. She's got one heck of a cough, she sounds horrible!

So Timmy, are you all packed for your next trip home.....I know, you're always packed! :rotfl2:

So is everyone done with their christmas shopping yet, I've bought one gift so far, and I got that down in disney! Need to get my butt in gear and get buying. Kellie's christmas present from us this year was our trip to disney, but Santa is still coming.....we're trying to get her a Wii, I hope I'm successful with that! She's also asking for an Ipod, a horse, another trip to disney....kid's got expensive taste!:lmao:

Kristin,
I read the first Harry Potter book to DS when he was little. Personally, it was not my cup of tea and I bought the rest of the series but waited till DS was old enough to read them to himself. lol Now he reads them over and over again despite having a huge collection of different books.

Now Twilight is a whole different thing to me and I love them. I started reading it quite a while ago and only read the first chapter and never picked it up again till last week. So try getting through the first few chapters and I would be willing to bet you will be sucked in too. So let me know when your sucked in too. lol Better yet go see the movie first and that should tell you if you would be interested. As usual the book is wayyyyyyyyyy better.

Wic,
Glad to hear you DM's numbers went down. I hope you get good new from DF's tests. I can only imagine how hard it must be for everyone to not only have one but two parents going through that. Sending truckloads of pixie dust to keep you and yours strong.

Hope Kellie feels better soon. We just went through our second round of colds here as well.

As for Christmas I am pretty much done, thank goodness. Gotta love internet shopping and deals. DS wants Wii too and the only reason we agreed was because he has been saving up his own money for a long time and had half the cost so he asked if we could pay the other half so he could get it. It's weird but DS very, very rarely asks for anything unless proded for what he wants but that Wii is something he wants badly. He has an old gamecube and IMO that is good enough. If the Wii didn't also play the gamecube games I wouldn't see the point at all. He hasn't asked for anything other than that though.

Sounds like you need to get a move on that Christmas shopping. Have fun finding a pony. lol Maybe she will settle for some my little pony's? As for expensive tastes kids have no clue what things cost they just hear what there friends have and figure they don't want to be left out.

Ang

Wic, glad to hear you got some good news on your DM. Hope you hear some on your DF soon. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Hope your daughter is feeling better today. I hate it when the kiddo is sick, of course it is worse when it is the DH.

Our son Jacob got a Wii last year. It is a lot of fun. Love to watch DH bowl, you would think he is actually bowling. He gets so into it.

So, I finally got all of my decorations up, just need to put all the boxes and tubs away now. House looks like we are moving again. Have DH's Christmas gift ordered and will be ordering Jacob's tonight. He wants the Star Wars All Terrain ship or something like that, the AT-TE. Kohl's has it and I have a 15% coupon, but I hoped they would discount it today with their next big sale. My step-daughter has decided she wants a Nintendo DS. No one has had any good sales on them. Everyone else is getting gift cards. Need to get busy on those.

Camera status, hubby still won't let me open it. I am going to though so I can insure it, need the serial numbers for that. But guess I will put it back in the box, but I think I will at least keep the instructions and software out, so at least I can be researching it.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and be careful out there shopping!
Melissa

All you artistic folks make me feel so inadequate. It is not that I am not capable of doing it but the fact that my time and energy is so limited so I have to pick and choose what I do. I chose to spend the last day or so just enjoying my grandsons. Does watching someone play Wii give you exercise? If so I have had plenty.

Diva K, I am running behind on emails. I did respond to the lady who was wondering about cataract surgery. Thank you for letting me know. You are so thoughtful and kind. :lovestruc

Ang, I just love the Harry Potter books, so many arcane references to things and I love the character's names and such. Vampires are not my thing. Package for Will on pool table, plan to mail stuff Monday.:cool1:

Wic, sounds as if your parents are busy getting well. I hope that is what they get for their Christmas presents as all else is of no import.

jmskinner, please tell your husband that you MUST open the camera and use it right now so that you can take copious pictures of him in case he should keel over tomorrow. Your next husband might want to see them. :rotfl: What is the use of a camera if not to take pictures of the holiday season? He is wrong, tell him I said so, but please do not tell him where to find me.

M2E, ask at WM for a Wii, they have them in the back room. After hunting for nearly two years I found that out my accident. Bummer!! If Timmie is going to turn into a cat it would have to be a cheeta, fastest animal on earth. I hope Evie gets to feeling better. It would be terrible for her to be sick on vacation.

I went to town and bought myself a new washer yesterday. I am trying to remember all the years I have had it and the years that nothing has broken down.:rolleyes1 It does not help that I think I am going to have to replace the hot water heater as well. :scared1: On the other hand, I have the money to do so, just not as much fun spending it in this manner. :upsidedow I got 10% off, free delivery and when I got them down as low as I could I wiped out my Lowe's project card for $50 off. I saved around $100 off. (real price not inflated price) :teacher:

Snow flying today. House needs cleaning and I have a Netflix movie that has been languishing. Maybe today is the day?

Love you crazy folks, Linda/SG
