SEPT 2009 code watch

Same thing happened to me - was told that they could not tell me if I had a pin because they did not have that info. Said I had to either get one in an e-mail or something in the mail. :confused3

I've called about six times and they have always looked for me. Sounds like some CM's don't want to do their jobs. It's annoying, but keep trying.

when you say you called to talk to a CM, do you just call the 407-wdisney? I missed the bounceback last year, and am dying waiting for the offer this year. i went with my husband last year and now my mom and dad want to go this year with us. keeping my fingers crossed with all of you!!! :cheer2:

also, like diswix wondered above, would it be a good idea to book a room now with the 4/3 offer and then switch when/if dining comes out?

We have booked our flights from the Uk for the 27th August until the 17th September.I have been waiting for the free dining programme as we really would like to stay at the All Stars again. Otherwise it will have to be off site.

Please could someone be kind enough to guide me and add me to the list of pin codes.
Do I book the All stars now?
Is there a deposit for the room and is it transferable?
If I book the room now how easy is it to change the booking to the free dining plan when it comes up in APril?
At what stage do I need a code and how do I obtain one?
Is there a chance that i am from the UK and would be unable to do this?
I am so glad I came accross this part of the forum, I am sorry there are so many questions.Thank you.

Diswix,
--Sorry, but there is no "list of pin codes" to add your name to. :sad2: These are offerings by Disney directly to individuals, either via emails or postcards in the mail. There appears to be no pattern or rule to being offered one, but it appears that your chances start and improve by signing up to whatever official Disney sites there are.... I ordered the vacation DVD last year, and when I called to ask questions before making my reservation I was told there was a code on my acct (but the agent had no more info other than had to book before a certain date to use the code... I didn't know any better, so didn't book then.)....:sad2:
--It's always best to book your room once you have your dates more or less decided on... worse case is that you would not get all your dates at the resort you want to be at.
--I had to pay a 1 night deposit on my room rate only this year, and last year I had to pay $200 deposit on my free dining reservation.
--?Transferable? Do you mean if you decide to stay at a diff resort? I did change my reservation (a few times!) last year: changed from CBR to POR, and also changed from FreeDining to Room RateDiscount and the initial deposit was moved each time.
But when I switched to POR (where I decided I really wanted to stay ) there was no availability there for Free Dining or Room Rate discount.. I paid full price! eep! :sad2: But at the time, I thought that might be my only visit to WDW, and was okay with that.... Now I'm addicted, and need the bargains to keep coming! :lovestruc
--hmm, don't know if there's anything about not offering UK people codes... but I think there might be a forum here for ye, with threads on codes? :surfweb:

Hope this helps a bit!

Do you think there is any chance they'll release room only discount codes (AP rate, or FL rate) along with free dining, so that people can choose one or the other? Has this been the case in the past, anyone know?

I'm going on a solo trip in late September -I really have no need for free dining, as I'm going going to be doing sit down TS restaurants anyway -but I would love a discount on my room.

Disney1976, I don't know about AP/FL, but here's what I noted last year:
Apr 9 ‘08 or so, WDW announced Free Dining Discounts for Aug 24 - Sep 20 2008
Jun 26‘08 or so, WDW announced general Room only discounts for Aug 3-Sep 27 2008
I had booked free dining, then switched to the room only discount because as a party of 1 at POR, it did save me a few $$$. (eep, and then decided I reaallly wanted to stay at POR, but couldn't get a discount there... oh well, I went with the place I wanted, and was really happy with stay at POR)

With the way the economy is, who knows what Disney will do this year (they already have had great offerings for 2009 up to about mid August).

Subscribing!

We're going Aug 30-Sept 5. We've booked our flights but not our package..yet. We applied for the DisneyVisa so we're waiting for that to come so we can put it on that. We should have it in about a week. I'm signed up for the DVD and to get emails from Dinsey but haven't gotten anything yet.

Thank you that does help a lot.
Just to clarify; if I booked the ASM today for three weeks would I still be able to add on the free dining with the park tickets in April ( when/ if the free dining offer appears)?
Or do I have to rebook the whole room again in April, and lose my deposit or would that be tranferable?
Or should I wait and book it all in April? Thank you

When I changed my reservation, they just moved the deposit over as well. It seemed that the ressie # only changed if the resort changed.
I had at one point had a split stay POR and CBR, and so had paid 2 deposits (each ressie needs its own deposit), but when I switched it all to POR, they just added the CBR $$ paid to POR ressie (I might have asked them to do that, don't remember).

I did read in some other thread (looked, didn't find it to give the link...), that if the agent needs to cancel your ressie to rebook for new package, insist that he/she book the new first before cancelling the other, because if availability is tight, then in the time it takes him/her to cancel the first and start to create the new one, those rooms might be taken up, and you might be SOOL (= Sure Out of Luck..;) )
I think ..but not sure, so maybe someone else will pitch in here, that they would only have to have a new ressie if you're changing Resorts or maybe changing the room type?

Seems like Disney isn't getting the rooms filled as quick as they would like, so you may be okay not booking until (if) FD is offered for Sep...... me, I'd book now, because for me, the ressie was more important than the discount.

PS.... I just don't understand how "to luck out" does not mean to be "out of luck"! :confused3

Just switched our dates from May...please add us from Sept. 12 thru 19, please.

Thanks! :cheer2:

I received a 40% off pin. Yeah! But it says its only for Value resorts. I'd like to stay at Poly or Beach Club.

Does anyone know if the 40% is allowed on these resorts? The promo says discounts are available on deluxe, but does not specify. Just wanted to see what others were getting.

Yes--it's allowed on the other resorts. Members of our GG booked at POFQ using the 40% off code. Other disboards members have gotten the code at deluxe resorts as well.

:thumbsup2

I am soooooo hoping. Missed free dining last year. We are planning for Aug 22nd through Sept. 5th. We have a 40% code so if we dont get FD I will do a few days at Contemporary (the hubby's all time Dream).
I would like FD though.

New to threads, but found them a couple of days ago while planning our trip in September. I had no idea there were such discounts available. I have regiestered with Disney and requested the cd. I would love to know if anyone gets a code - add me to the thread too!!!! Free dining would save bunches - we have 5 adults and 2 children going. Has anyone had any luck just talking your way into getting free dining when you were booking? Thanks for the info!!:worship:

Thanks

weHEARTmickey,
I noticed that you listed "free dining" in six months, has this code or special already been released? We booked a bounceback when we were there two weeks ago for Poly CL Sept. 4-12, is free dining available then? If another code comes out should we try to apply it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Just an FYI - I booked my flights today through AirTran, and I was able to get them for $54 each way because of some sale they are having. Jsut thought I'd mention it for anyone who still needs to get their flights worked out!

Hi Penel3! I called in on Mon & the code was attached to my DH name. So, FD is not a general discount *yet*. It saved us around $700 on a 9d/8n stay at POP (for 2ad/2ch.) :cheer2: What are the details of your bounceback? I would definitely guess that Sept 4-12 will be included in the FD once it's released. (That being said, you'll only be able to apply one discount per ressie.) Best wishes! :goodvibes

Just curious, was the FD you got with your code the basic dining plan (1TS, 1QS, 1 snack)? I remember seeing some speculation on another thread several months ago that FD this year would be the new Quick Service Plan, since that is what they were offering in Europe or something. Since the other discounts this year have been really great (B4G3 extended into Aug.), presumably due to the economy, I can't imagine that the FD would be the cheaper plan than last year's.

It's the basic plan that we always get...1TS, 1QS, 1S. We probably would've paid for an upgrade if they'd given us the QS plan. What's killing me is having to wait to book the restaurants....90 days out! :sad1:
