Sept 2005 Roll Call...It’s Finally Sept! Are You Ready? Come Share Your Enthusiasm

We're using it, but I just received a helpful hint from my dad's boss (who just were there two weeks ago). They said that with ME, it can take up to 6 HOURS to get your luggage!! There were alot of complaints about this.

They said that you can avoid this delay by NOT putting the luggage tags on your luggage. You just procede to Baggage Claim, get your bags, and THEN go to the ME kiosk to check in. You take your luggage on the bus with you......no waiting!!!

We're going to try this, cause I don't like the idea of my luggage being MIA for hours....... :wave2:

That is a great idea! Does anyone have the number I need to call and sign up? Is it the regular 407-WDISNEY number or is it different?

We will back for another go around Sept 25..we were plannin a trip to that other park in orlando, but the "meal deal" was too much to pass on. Thanks to this promotion we will be fulfilling a dream of my wifes...to bring along our two nieces {15 & 12) who have suffered through the tales of our past trips, havng never been out of state themselves. We got 2 rooms @ pop & meals for less than the price of our first trip years ago. :cool1:

We'll be there...

9/22 to 9/29 OKW, then 9/29 to 10/3 AKL... MNSSHP on 10/2

This will be our first MNSSHP, and I can't wait! :cool1:

I'm getting more and more excited every day!

Remember...your 90 day PS window started last week!

Will be there Sept 24 -Oct 1st with my 2 boys 6 and 7 my DW and MIL. Staying off site at the Vistana for the 2nd time. Hope to see you there!!!

Gotta change the dates....DH decided to add "1more day" famous last words...lol.

Sept 24th--------Oct.2nd
Anyone else doin the Halloween Party that Friday night??

DS and I will be using ME.

DH and I just got home very late last night, or early this morning depending upon how you look at it. ;) We used ME and stayed at POR. POR is a beautiful resort, and ME was...well, okay. If you're trying to stick to a budget then I think it's worth the small amount of inconvenience. If you're on an all-out, deluxe trip, then I'd get a towncar. We took only carry-ons, so I can't comment on the luggage handling. We were to our resort within an hour of our plane landing, and the bus stopped at OKW and POFQ before leaving us off at POR. It was a full bus and the loading/unloading process was very efficient, IMO.

Going back to the airport we had to be picked up 3 hours 15 minutes before our flight! That's a LONG time. After POR, the bus went to POFQ, then OKW, then SSR, then the airport terminal B, then terminal A, which was our stop. So, we were first on and last off. Total return trip time was 1 hour 15 minutes. It felt longer. We had a DME bus on the way to the resort, and a DCL bus on the return to MCO. The DME bus was much nicer and more comfortable.

Not ME's fault, but our return flight was then delayed from a 4:35 departure to an 8:00 departure and we had a stop in Philly, where they made us circle for almost half an hour before we could land. We were supposed to arrive in Pittsburgh at 8:30 but we didn't get in until 12:15. :guilty: I'm just happy the delay was at the end of our trip instead of the beginning. ;)

yep, I think we are...that is the 30th right??? That is the one we are thinking about going to... :earsboy:

We are looking into adding one more day too...my dh looked at the guidebook and dvd and said the resorts were vacations in themselves and there is just SO MUCH to do!! FINALLY he is getting into the DIS spirit pirate:
Now if only I could talk him into wearing green tights for the MNSSHP... :rotfl:

why was your flight delayed did they tell you?? I think 3 1/2 hrs pick up before flight might be stretching it but they do say get there at least an hour early, maybe 2 hrs...

Philadelphia had some storms earlier in the day and that caused a lot of flight delays. (Apparently Orlando isn't high on the priority list when it comes to clearing flights. :confused3 ) On the positive side, Southwest treated everyone as well as they could during the wait. They handed out drinks and snack boxes, and even played a game where the winner got a $25 credit voucher. The employees remained friendly despite having to deal with a few unhappy customers. They also kept us updated regularly.

We arrived at MCO at the recommended 2 hours before flight time. It was just the 1 hour 15 minute bus ride to get there that made it seem like forever, LOL! I think it's only a 25 minute drive, so the bus ride added an extra 45+ minutes to the trip. Not that bad, really. DH and I actually enjoyed getting a peek at the DVC resorts.

We were willing to trade a little inconvenience in exchange for saving $100 or so on a car, and it was only a little inconvenience. It was worth it, IMO. DH said he would be willing to use DME again, and I agree. DS and I will be using it in September. It will be great when they get the tag situation ironed out. (DH and I never received our tags, that's why we chose to do carry-ons only.)

There were CMs throughout the airport with big Mickey hands directing you towards the Welcome Desk. It only took us a couple of minutes to check in. Though the line appeared long, there were about 10 CMs working the desk and the line moved very fast...less than a 5 minute wait, I think. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. ::MickeyMo

Ok I have us updated and I think I have everyones changes/additions correctly. I'm leaning towards doing both the party (MNSSHP) on the 30th and on the 2nd...if my mother and sister can decide if and when they are coming.

MOMOFMNM those green tights would be a hoot :rotfl2:

jcemom thanks for the review on ME. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to book it or a towncar.
