Received our FE that I ordered on Etsy - so cute - pockets are smaller than expected . DD and I will need to put our gift into a bag and hang on the door handle so to not flip out onto the floor. She bought the coolest ribbon to tie it up - fun fun fun - we are getting so close. :
We just got ours yesterday too, though we bought it on eBay and it's lovely. Very excited - gifts will definitely fit in it so I'm thinking its standard size-ish: about 5" deep and 7 or so inches across? The FE gifts we're giving are mostly 3x2x1" or so, so they should fit in even small pockets!
Anyone traveling with children going to have a meet up to exchange kids.....

I mean introduce kids to one another?
Mine are Calvin (5) and Cordelia (2).
My son is coming up on five and we would
LOVE to trade!

Although DH will probably be jealous of your toddler, he wanted another baby but our DS was just too high energy for me to consider another pregnancy for a loooooong time ... currently I'm thinking mabye 2016 for the second child.
I was wondering this as well. I think I'm just going to call for the shuttle as we disembark...just in case the ship is late getting into port.
I'm heading to SNA...anyone else?
That's a good idea. I'm trying to ballpark a time to have my in-laws pick us up at the port, but they will be staying with cousins who live about 25 min east of
Disneyland, probably about 35-40 minutes drive from port so thinking about just calling them right before we disembark and taking pictures from outside the ship as we cry to leave it.

DH's and my flights aren't til about 5p, so we'll have plenty of time to have lunch with the in-laws and get the DS settled in before heading to our destinations.

Wow you certainly did have some time on your hands! Unfortunately it points out that I'm lagging on posts here and need to catch up! Man I miss being unemployed ... really wish I felt comfortable DISsing at work ... even though everybody there is super nice I'm not quite ready to have the DIS be on my cookie history yet. Maybe when its trip report time!
TA has talked with
DCL - the tweet & the examiner print has been retracted....the alcohol policy is still in place as it was & has always been,

Thank you for discovering this. Read that post and was a bit worried ... I don't think we'll have more than a few bottles of liquor ... atm thinking one small bottle of tequila or amaretto, another of vodka, and perhaps a bottle of rose wine for Palo, but I _did_ have my heart set on bringing our own alcohol (I know roses aren't great by wine lover standards but they're sweet and for me they go with everything).
Nobody will think you're a lush for drinking on vacation! One of my favorite things about vacation is that one can let their hair down, and I'm particularly looking forward to being able to drink in the middle of the day with my DH, knowing that the DS is safely ensconced at the Oceaneer's Club and we don't have to go back to work!

Now if I could only find non-calorically laden alcohol that tasted good ... little worried about coming back from this cruise with an extra 10-20 pounds between having dessert available all the time plus drinking!
Bear in mind too buying liquor in Canada is different than in the US. Here it is very regulated and isn't sold in every grocery and corner store. It is licensed and only sold from "Beer and Wine Stores" or the Government run "BC Liquor Stores". The BC Liquor Stores will be the cheaper place to go, since the Beer and Wine stores have to buy from the Government BC Liquor Stores. (Can you say Monopoly?) On top of that, or more accurately because of that and all the taxes they pile on it, alcohol is more expensive in Canada than in the US.
Guess what I'm saying is, if you want cheaper and are allowed to bring it across the border, do that. Duty Free at the border might be an option too. Otherwise, the BC Liquor Store will be cheaper than a Beer and Wine Store as well. Just be prepared for some pricing "sticker shock" between Canada and the US.
Thank you for filling us in on this. I was debating whether to buy our liquor in Seattle or Vancouver since we have a day in each, and now I know which one to go to! I'd been leaning towards Vancouver since slightly less hauling + I have memories of liquor runs to Canada back when I was 19 in college in Michigan we'd run over the border to legally stock up and it was _way_ cheaper over the border, but I guess that was mostly that the American dollar was so much stronger in the late 90's.
You too?!? DH and I both have colds right now too (stuffy nose, sore eyes, cough etc), and the kids just have the snuffles. We are all on the mend though and its getting better, so I'm forecasting health for everyone by the time we board

I hope you feel better before then as well!
Yep, its cold season. As soon as DS4 went to kindergarten he came home with a cough and sniffles (which we don't seem to have gotten yet). Kids and germs just go together and I'm glad he didn't get it at a later time, closer to the cruise. Unfortunately what he did get from my dad was a home-made haircut.

For some reason, even though I had a haircut scheduled for him for next week my dad was watching the DS the other day and decided that since my son's hair was in his eyes he should just lop off the front with whatever scissors he had on hand! It looked absolutely awful, so we took him to his barber right away and she did the best she could to fix it, but it still looks a little off to me. I love my dad but sometimes he does weird stuff and thinks nothing of it. Hopefully it'll grow out enough in the next weeks so that we can get another trim right before we fly out and he'll look pretty in the vacation pictures ...

We got an email from our TA yesterday saying Disney gave us an upgrade so we're now in room 8036

Talk about pixie dust! I read some room reports that say it can be a bit noisy but I figure it can't be any noisier than our house on an average day .
So part of me is a bit cheesed off...I've spent all summer memorizing one cabine number, studying deck plans, etc. etc....Now In have to 'realign' my brain
Wow that's awesome! Congrats! Now I'm going to be obsessively checking the website just in case they sprinkle more pixie dust around! I haven't even looked at a diagram of the ship to see where our room is in regard to everything else yet ... haven't quite gotten to that Extreme Planning mode; its been enough of a job to figure out where the three of us are going when for the non-cruise portions of this trip so for the cruise I'll be playing everything other than Victoria by ear.
