Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

Oh, I'm afraid we're super boring!

Two sisters, a sister-in-law and daughter. I believe we're all most looking forward to doing nothing.
Ha!

You'll be in good company. I gave up my fire eating act years ago ;)

I'm looking forward to exploring the ship and being pampered!
My daughter's looking forward to the food and experiencing her first cruise.

FYI: Carnival Cruise line offers discounts on Amtrak trips to their ports of call. The code is V555 but it cannot be booked online, you must call the 800 number.

The Carnival Spirit sails out on 9/20 to Los Angeles. ;)

My fiancé and I are honeymooning on this cruise. It'll be a first cruise for both of us. Would love to "get to know" some other people on board the ship! :)

Another group, checking in!

There will be four of us - three have sailed before, on the Magic. Can't wait to explore the Wonder!

We're in the process of looking for a hotel in Vancouver and figuring out what to see in the few days we have there before the ship sails!

Welcome Aboard!!:wave2:

I'm Janice & will be sailing with my DS Trevor

Maybe DCL could book you as entertaiment on the Hawaiian cruise :rotfl2:

I wasn't going to fly in a day early, but after reading about that poor family that missed their cruise I'm going to.
I want very much to stay at the Pan Pacific but I can't find it for less than $270 usd (including taxes)

Anyone else thinking of staying here? Have you found a palatable price?

Thank you! :) Nice to meet you.

We're both super excited and can't wait! Kind of worried about there being enough adult areas/activities and feeling like it's TOO geared towards kids, since we don't have any. Would love to hear experiences from people who have traveled without kids and if they felt that way at all or not.

Hi Makayna. I'm Heather and will be sailing with my DH John.

We are staying at the Ramada Inn downtown. It is about 1/2 way between the Amtrak station and the Cruise Ship Terminal. Checking in really early on Monday Morning (if all goes well with the Train/bus, we will be there about 1:30 AM Monday Morning)

Hi! :) So you also are not cruising with kids? Is that at all common on Disney cruises? It's nice to know that FH and I won't be the ONLY couple on board sans kids. ;) Nice to meet you. :)

My BFF and I are on this cruise with two of our friends. This will be my fourth and my BFF's fifth Disney cruise. We have enjoyed each and every one of our cruises. On our last cruise which was a fourteen day transatlantic the only time we saw children was standing in line for pictures with the characters. Otherwise, we spent time on our veranda, at the Quiet Cove, in the spa or on deck 4. There is so much to do, that you might feel you don't have enough time to do it all!!!

Don't worry, on this cruise I think that you will find that there are plenty of adults traveling without kids. If anything, I'm worried that the adult areas will be filled more than usual. My first plan of action will be to head to the spa and purchase a 5 day rainforest . Hope none of you will be hogging the wonderful heated ceramic tile loungers. :scared1: I promise to share and not hog myself. :thumbsup2

I'm traveling with my BFF Donna, while our husbands spend the week golfing in Palm Springs. We usually go with them and then do our own thing, but this time we decided to have some real fun.

Nope, you won't be the only ones. Hi...I'm Rosie. I'll be travelling with my 25 year old daughter. My last cruise was just my husband and I ( and 8 great friends)...all adults, no kids.....We had a blast.

My DH and I have furkids - and they are not allowed on the ship. It is our first (and hopefully not last) cruise. I am looking forward to meeting all of the very nice people I am meeting here.

Me too!!!! This is FH's and my first cruise, and after everything we're reading, most definitely NOT our last! We're getting married on the 10th, and then driving to my new home (Washington), and then going up to Vancouver on the 19th and (obviously) cruising on the 20th. We're both extremely excited and can't wait. I'm also excited to get to meet many new people from this board. :cool1:

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. We are celebrating out 11th anniversary this year, and celebrate my birthday onboard the ship. If you end up coming any where near San Diego, let me know. Maybe we can meet up.

Well, probably not. :( Although, I have a sister who lives near SD. ;) But when we get off the boat, we're going to have our sisters (his AND mine both live in CA) join us at Disneyland for a few days before we head back to Washington. But we'll definitely have to plan to meet on the ship! :)

Does the same skytrain go directly to the port, or do you have to transfer at some point Crystal?

The skytrain goes from the airport the the station right by the port, you will have to walk a couple blocks from the station to the port though. I have never taken the skytrain, but gathered all this info from the "vancouver info" thread on the main DCL board here, and then looked it up on google as well, lol.

Here is a link, there is a photo (2nd down I think) that shows the station and the walking distance:
