Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

Well there goes my good mood...just got an email from dear old mom with the following sentence in it... I am
amazed that you are as heavy as you are BUT I don't see that you eat large
amounts of food......Ok, I know I am fat, I do not need to be told how amazed she is that I am fat :-(

That's an awful thing to be told, no matter what your size is. If you are happy and healthy then that should be the end of it! :grouphug:

Wow, Dzne princess: , that is a horrible thing to be told. I also resemble that remark and agree with Ericamanda, as long as your happy abd healthy, who cares! I think all this cruising has done it to me. I was a size 4/6 12 years and 3 children ago. Look at me know! I think your adorable Amanda.

I've had similar comments made by my parents. Maybe that's why I don't see them very much. (I hope you are at least smirking). They both live in :sunny: Southern Calif. near L.A. and of course evey one is a fitness or veggie/ vegan? die hard (No flames please). That mentality is stuck in their brains (after more than 30years of living there) and according to them any puffyness on my sides is cause for comment. I hug my parents very strategically now a days. (looking for another smirk). I'm  myself for a :rotfl2: here.

Well if it makes you feel any better I love you just the way you are. You have a beautiful heart, your kind to anyone who needs it and I think your hot! :teeth:

Dzne princess: , don't be sad. You have a wonderful family and a bunch of friends who all love you for who you are. Skinny people are the minority not the majority. Be happy with yourself and enjoy life! That what its there for! To be lived to the fullest!!!!! :grouphug: :thewave:

TGIS! "Thank goodness it' saturday" doesn't really roll of the tounge. :)

THank you! That was very sweet. I think you look great too! I just remember when you walked up to me at the sail away party and you DS and DH were in tow, and remember thinking how cute all of you were! But I thought you only had one son? The DS that I meet on the ship? I am confused. He is a doll btw.

I am going to print the above out and laminate it, any objections?:teeth: The last part I am going to put in big bold letters, then when I get to feeling bad about me, I can know that there are at least 2 people in this world who think I am hot! LOL My DH and you! hehe
What is so strange about my mother send ing that 2 me yesterday, is that I was feeling really good about myself. This week, 2 seperate guys that Iwork with tld me that I was a pretty girl, and a few people have commented and told me I looked nice on whatever day. It is always nice to hear those things. It is like she got an alert...beep beep beep uh oh AMandas getting a little bit aof self confidence..must not let that happen.....sigh after deliberating long and hard last night, I sent her email letting her know I dont want to hear any criticism any more. I t was very tough to hit the send button, becasue suddenly * I * was afraid to hurt *her* feelings....ironic, huh?

Mothers can be a little tactless. When I was visiting my mom last month she and I were talking over breakfast. I was explaining my fears on mother hood and looking for some kinds words. She proceeded to tell me that motherhood isn't all that great. And that having kids isn't this great life changing event that everyone makes it out to be. I was shocked. I think she forgot that she was talking to her daughter, not some friend. It really hurt my feelings and I didn't know what to say. I just kept eating my food and changed the subject. I know that it is different for everone and it will be life changing for me because I want to have a family, something i'm not sure she really wanted. So take your mothers words with a grain of salt. I don't think they think when they give out their advise. Just listen to us, we're Diz'ers! :earboy2:

Taeja, one of you would need to call said person's TA! You will need the stateroom numbers of all who want to link, as well as the last name in that stateroom :-) IE If I were doing it I would gather all the info, and call ym TA and give her the info. Amanda and I are linked together for our cruise next year.
Jennifer are yall early or late dining for this upcoming cruise?

Unfortunately we are on late dining again this year... we really wanted early dining! :confused3 SO.... I am interested in the question of how to get it changed too!

Cool so are we....maybe we can link, unless you are going to swtich to early. We prefer late dining.

Dzne princess: , I do just have my DS. He is actually adopted. I have lost 3 daughters. One stillborn, 1 at 25 minutes old, and 1 at 4 days old. I am unable to carry babies to full term. Logan is the best thing that has ever happened to me. We can't afford to adopt again so he's it! Ericamanda, whatever your Mom has said to you, I think that children are wonderful! They can be very challenging at times but they are worth all of the aggravation that they can cause. I keep looking at all of your tickers and I am so jealous that so many of you are cruising in just a few days or weeks. I want to go too!!!!!! My DH is still giving me a hard time about cruising on DCL again. This may be a losing battle but I refuse to give up.

EEyorefan, I am so very sorry. I did not mean to put you on the spot. I hope you did not feel that you had to answer that. I am very sorry for your losses dear friend! (((HUGS)))
