Is there anyone here who can join me in the WB TA OCVP (Obsessive Complusive Vacation Planner) Club? Please? I don't want to feel alone here!

I'm right there with you! I have a spiral notebook that I have been writing down info and ideas in.

We don't have anything else booked, but I'm going to try and squeeze a 3 day in if the price is right next Dec. I moved my Dec '09 land/sea package to this trip along with my dummy booking to pay off the deposit without having to come up with any more money.

Doug just wants to stay close to home next year, but the guy gets 4 weeks of vacation. We will have to go somewhere! :rotfl2:

I'm a little behind because my 4 month old computer decided to crash on me Saturday and will take 2 weeks to fix. I'm just glad it is still under Warranty.

I'm not packed yet, but for a fleeting moment the other day I thought I might just keep the bags downstairs instead of putting them in the attic. But, I decided not to be baggered by my Husband for 23 months and put them away. :rotfl:

Okay. My name is Kimberly, and I know I have a problem! However, if anyone can MAYBE relate and understand, it's going to be someone here on the DISboards!

Today I worked on several lists related to the cruise. This includes a miscellaneous expenses list, budget savings plan, packing list, carry-on bag list, to-do list with target start/finish dates, and a list of questions to get answered.

OK I think I can definately join you on this one lol. I've even started looking at the menus I had from the last TA and what I would want to eat again lol I am obsessed!

Well today tried accessing from work and it worked. Think its gotta be to do with DNS but I don't know anything about dns so very confused! Gonna try again tonight at home see whats happening!

Hi all!

It would be cool if SW did international flights by 2010. :thumbsup2 Actually, I would love for Jet Blue to do International Flights. I get lost in Direct TV! And blue chips ...

Anyone else sailing before we cruise in 2010?

I am sailing on the Magic September 26, 2009. Hoping to sail on the Wonder May 21, 2009 for Bev's wedding!!

I LOVE Southwest! No baggage fees, no change fees!! Hoping for international by 2010 :thumbsup2

Does anybody here scrapbook their cruises??

You will see me walking around picking up scraps of streamers or confetti after the shows. I keep all the trivia cards, just anything I can find that has to do with the cruise.

I love scrapbooking the album instead of just a photo album, but I am only a beginner.
I would love some tips from experienced scrapers for this cruise to make it extra special?

Kathy

Always scrapbook everything! Just caught up on all my scrapbooking from the last TA's a few weeks back. I remembered to keep both the navigators and the newspapers each day as this added to the information for the day

I've never scrapbooked but you all are making it sound like fun (and a good way to gather up all those memories). Any hints for an absolute newbie to the hobby?

What airline does Disney use when you book flights through them? We decided to use their booking just because I'm paranoid about being left behind or something else dire! We'd love jetBlue to fly to Europe 'cause we love jetBlue! DH is 6'4" and the roomier spots on the plane make him happy. Plus it's cool to have the little screens in front of you where you can watch what you want rather than what the airline is showing.

We'd love to hear about previous trips to Barcelona, Gibraltar, and the other stops we'll be making. If anyone wants to share or if there's a thread I can read, I'd appreciate the info big time. I went to the library yesterday and got an old Fodor's for Spain and some books to refresh my high school Spanish. Portuguese next, I guess. Gosh, I can't believe how exciting this is and we're still almost two years out!! Ok, less than 700 days out (not sure that sounds better  ).

You guys move toooooooo fast for me! :rotfl:

I wish I had an answer for those of you who can't get on the site. I am at least happy that you can access it in some way from either your phone or work.

Hopefully your server wipes clean saved IP addresses soon!!!!

I am sorry that it had to switch in the first place. I switched it bc Linux is a better server to host on. It offers more then windows. I did it because I thought it would be a good thing. I am sorry to those who it has caused a headache! :flower3:

For all those who are new....our website is www.transatlanticpirates.com and you can email your official roll call info to rollcall@transatlanticpirate.com

THANKS!

Barcelona - We didn't do a tour here. My parents did a tour of barcelona by bus and then went to the Cordonui cellars for a sparkling wine tasting. They said it was fantastic. The city itself you can get around easily by foot (although we never found the church but the rain put us off going out for too long). Definately worth going to see the fountains as my dbf has been to them and recons its fantastic. Ill get him (welshwizurd) to post something about Barcelona as hes done a lot more of the city than me

Gibraltar - We did 2 tours here. First we did a dolphin watching tour and saw a bottlenose and 2 common dolphins. It was fantastic and they litterally followed the boat along for ages. Then we did the Rock tour. As Im a whimp I couldn't do the cable car so opted for the bus one not the one that took you up that way. People that did the cable car did say if you don't like heights or get at all motion sick don't do this option. We got in a mini bus and went to Europa Point where you can see Africa and Spain. Then we drove up the mountain to St Michaels cave which is a large concert hall in a cave. Its beautiful in there and definately worth a trip. Then we went to the barbary monkeys which were cute. Just dont carry anything too shiny as they will try to grab it. A girl on the boat with us had her braids ripped out by a monkey as she had shiney beads in it. Amazingly she didn't scream or try and hit him off, and someone managed to wrangle it off her but they will try and take anything. Then we went to the airport to see the boarder with Spain before heading back to the boat. They offered to drop people in town but we choose to walk to town instead from the boat. It takes around 20-30 minutes from memory and is a nice little walk. There are numberous shops and bars etc along the shopping area and its easy to find so if you don't want to do a tour do this. Oh and last time a few people damaged themselves on the mountain as one of the tours sent you up in the cable car and then you walked back down. Be careful as the hill/mountain is steep!

We were on the first EB TA in 2007. It was me (mom) and DD12, DD10.5, and DD3 (almost 4). DH had a business conflict and couldn't make the trip.

In Barcelona, we did the Hop On Hop Off Bus. We had done this in Cadiz, as well. In Cadiz, we wore headphones and listened to a narration of what we were seeing. We got off the bus several times to further explore. It was a great way to see the city. In Barcelona, we were not as impressed. The headphone system was not functional and the lines for the busses were very, very long. We did see a lot of the city, but had to make guesses at what we were actually seeing. Because of the huge lines, we were hesitant to get off the bus. Our second day in Barcelona, we did get off at Parc Guell and spend a couple of hours playing and exploring there. That was fun. We also spent more time walking around the city on our second day. After leaving the ship :sad1: and checking into our hotel near the airport (Marriott Renaissance), we took the hotel shuttle back into town. It dropped us off at Plaza d'Espana and we decided to walk to Las Ramblas. Unfortunately, we didn't have the greatest map and we went off track a few times. We also walked through some kind of shaky areas. We travel a lot and spend a lot of time walking in foriegn cities, rarely taking organized tours becuase I like to see the local things. I don't "scare" easily. I must admit I was uncomfortable a few times that day. We ended up catching up with three local women and walking quickly with them until we were in a better area. Once we were on Las Ramblas we explored a bit and bought lunch items from the farmers market - yum! We ate that while we were waiting in line for the Hop on Hop off bus. We took the bus to Parc Guell and then again from the Parc back to Plaza d'Espana to catch our shuttle back to the hotel.

In Gibraltar we did our own thing with two other DIS families. It was maybe a 10 minute walk from the ship into town. Then a stroll through town to the tram up to the top of the Rock. We only had to wait a few minutes for a tram. From the top of the tram we climbed a bunch of steps to the observation deck. After taking some pictures and an ice cream break (INSIDE the snack shop), we walked down the road back into town stopping at St Michael's Cave and the Siege tunnels. Once we were at the bottom we walked through a residential area that was interesting to see before getting into the center of town. There was another way back to the center of town that I think was more scenic, but it involved a lot of steps. We had two strollers with us though and so chose the roadway instead.

As a side note, the apes are VERY aggressive, but really neat. As the tram was pulling into the stop an ape jumped onto the side of the car and was checking us out. His face was no more than 12 inches from ours! Turns out we would get even more "up close and personal" a few minutes later. As we were on the tram they told us to put away anything in plastic bags. The apes associate plastic bags with food. I knew there was a plastic bag with a chocolate chip cookie in the bottom of DD's stroller so as soon as we got off the tram, I unfolded her stroller and got the baggie. However, before I could get the baggie into my fannie pack, there was an ape grabbing the bag from me!! Needless to say, both DD and I freaked out. I threw the baggie and the ape demolished it in about 5 seconds. Another ape tried to take our friends tissue packet too. I don't think that would have been nearly as tasty as the DCL cookie though:rotfl2: . Also while we were inside the snack shop at the top, a woman walked outside with her ice cream. An ape grabbbed it from her a soon as she stepped outside. The ape then sat in DD's stroller (parked outside) and ate the ice cream bar just like a kid would :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone,

I have been reading and trying to figure out who is who on here.
Some of you dont sign your names when you post, so I havnt a clue who you are:confused3

So I am going to ask a favor, if you can remember just for your next 5 or 6 posts, please sign your name and I will write it down so I know who you are.

This old grandma's brain needs alittle help sometimes, well actually most of the time:lmao:

so seeing a few names would be greatly appreciated. It seems alot of you already are aquainted, so you dont need the names, but I do.

Thankyou very much:goodvibes

I will be back to post and catch up with the rest of the pages in a bit. I have 2 dogs who are dancing a jig by the door, so I better get them out for some private time:rotfl2:

Anyone else sailing before we cruise in 2010?

Have to say that we have a 4-Night Wonder booked in April (just for a fix), and Mike turns 40 next year, and he picked a 2-week on HAL for that. But, I am most excited about the cruise a whole 23 months from now. :)

I have a 7 night Western Double Dip booked with my parents and sister's family for next November, but now she's worried about pulling the kids out of school and thinks she wants to change it to some other time. NO! It has to stay in '09 to keep my pattern of cruising once per year - if she changes it to '10 then the stars will be misaligned and who knows what will happen! ;)

I've never been able to get into scrapbooking. Shoot, I've never been able to print out my pictures and put them into albums. :lmao: However, I'm still so OCD that I'll be right there with you picking up scraps of streamers, etc. It's just that mine go into "memory boxes." (Nice way of saying junk boxes I never want to clean out.) :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

POG at Cove Cafe at 10 pm, cheese and crackers on deck 10 for a late movie, morning coffee at the Cove Cafe, hmmmmm..........

Okay, may be a slight change of schedule for this one: DOD (drink of day) at RBD for adult caberet at 10:30, nachos or wings in Diversions for a late snack, hmmmm..... then morning coffee at noonish? :rotfl:

Where did you find the menus? I would be interested in seeing them!

Were they special commemorative menus for the cruise that they let you keep or did you just "pirate" them? pirate::rolleyes1 We had one menu from the PC cruise with a date on it that they let us take home but I don't have any of the others. :sad1:

 I hope you got a picture of this! I would love to see it!
