Hi all! Booked today (Cat 7 room 7622) without airfare online right after they opened ($5213 for two inc transfers and insurance).

I didn't book airfare as I like to have control of those things, but...

on a whim, I just now checked to see what DCL would charge and it looks like only $950 pp which seems to include transfers to and from the port! The transfers alone were $130.

The cheapest flight I could find was about $1350 to BCN from Houston and then we still had to book flights back home from Florida.

So what are the pros and cons of booking with DCL? Can we request to come in a day or so early?

Are the baggage fees really high on DCL bookings?

Just can't figure how they do it so inexpensively!

Thanks for the help!

We're in. We decided a few weeks back that the WB TA would be a great relaxing crossing. This morning our agent snagged a Cat 7 for us (6148). We'll now wait patiently for those 23 months as they slowly count down....

I'm assuming like most cruise lines, that we can add air and transfers later. (?)

Me and hubby just got our room- 7563- YIPPEE

Hey, we are neighbors! We will be in 7562! I was on at 7:58 and booked. I'm confused about the deposit though. My deposit was $1200. I think we got first tier pricing and hubby does not want me to mess with the reservation at all at this point.

Hi Wendy:wave2:

Remember me? We were on the Med cruise and on a couple of tours with you and J. How are you and are you still in Belgium? I hope we get to visit again on this voyage.

Yes I do! How are you doing? We're still in Belgium, and have been keeping busy touring Europe. We did the Adventures by Disney trip through Germany this past summer and it was fabulous! We booked the Czech trip with them the same day we got home from Germany!

I'm torn between hoping we can take this trip, and hoping we get stationed in Korea so we can explore Australia and China...

Either way, hopefully we'll meet up again!

Wendy

Wellll... we're booked... and not at a horrible price I think... it's twice as long as our cruise two weeks ago, and only about 1/2 again as much $$... I'm ok with that... Now I just need to get ok with taking DD out of school for that long.

So was mine half off then? I wasn't sure but it seemed good to me.

Yeah it was. You still pay the full price but only pay 50% deposit so more to pay later but hey dont think it matters. You also get $25 for booking online as on board credit

Yeah looks like us first off the mark got a bit snagged on this one and had to pay full. I dont want to mess with it unless I need to but have emailed DCL just to point out and see what they say

Well it will be educational? Maybe you can swing it that way :rotfl:

We are still waiting (with some anxiety, actually) to hear back from our travel agent (the same TA as Hoagie and our other dear friend, Hadley aka NHDisneyLover), as well, about our bookings on both the WB crossing and the last 10-night Med. cruise. Although I, like many others, went on the website and at least looked at pricing and the price on the Med cruises is INSANE....it's close to $2500 more for the Med than it is for the trans-Atlantic----which, in fairness, is a lot cheaper than we were expecting. So all added up I think we're probably still spending what we estimated we would be....but it would have a been a lovely surprise if BOTH the cruises came in under our estimates so that we coudl have the vacation of a lifetime "on the cheap" (as if anything with Disney was every actually cheap....at least we always get what we pay for though!! :thumbsup2 )

Not sure yet. Spain was very easy to bring a dog into and travel around the city with her (had some snags, but I will learn to say "service dog" in Spanish this time! Plus we're planning on staying closer into town, we stayed at the Hilton and it was just to freakin far away to do anything and then run back to take the dog out if we hadn't taken her with us.

She won't be going on the Baltic, that's for sure, way to many countries to deal with and you have to do it all seperately, real PITA. And if they have this rabies titer crap that has to be done within a certain date, no way, Jose. Did that once, will never do it again! It's all a ruse to keep dogs out of their countries I learned! You literally have one day to make it all happen in the correct sequence and that is nearly impossible, so if someone even sneezes, you can't make it work.

So we'll see, did you want me to?

Anyone know if first seating has been waitlisted? They have us down for second and we never do second, first time using this TA but they have us down correctly for the Baltic, so wondered if they may have run out... poop, can not do second seating at all, to late to eat for my esophogus!

Indicate your dinning request along with the basic medial reason and you should be switched. DM was moved to early due to her Diabetes, even though there was "no" space for her be moved.

Well I've made a complete mess out of things- but atleast I know we'll be on this cruise. LOL
I didn't realize so many repeats of the WB repo were going on this cruise!
I also wasn't sure if we'd go on this cruise because wow the flight costs so much x 5 people = so expensive!

The summer cruises were way out of our range. NO way I'm paying that much for 5 of us in cat 11's... plus the high airfare. We're just not rich enough for that!

But I'd rebooked onboard 5 rooms with dummy dates on the repo- then changed 2 rooms to 12/26/09. That left 3 rooms to mess with. It's so hard to tell your TA what to try to book you in the mayhem it has to be this morning- when you aren't even sure of prices. The main problem is that I wanted to try the 11nt southern dec 2010 instead (because summer cruises too costly, april or sept TA's during school year) but I had no idea how much it would cost. I went ahead and told them to book 2 rooms (transferring existing ressies ofcourse) to the 11nt southern and only ONE room to the TA- thinking maybe we could somehow swing going alone and figuring out a way for the kids to stay, go to school, etc.

HOWEVER then I get online and see the outrageous prices for the 11nt southern- no way i can justify that! For the cat 7 and cat 11 we'd asked them to try to book- online it was showing both rooms (5 people) at $19,250. That's ridiculous IMO. It wasn't much savings trying 2 cat 11's either (the one cat 11 with 3 ppl was $9052.75- that's crazy IMO)

So then I got all freaked out thinking I can't afford that- we might as well go for this cruise for all of us (plus long story but I think I will be homeschooling all 3 kids by that time anyway. I'm going to be starting to homeschool the younger two very soon- long long story) -but ofcourse I can't reach my TA at the moment. They are very busy with all this! So can you guess what I did?
Well if you guessed I went online and booked the rooms- you'd be right. :rotfl:
Only thing is I have no idea what the TA may have booked us for the ONE room they were supposed to be booking for us on this cruise. Also my online bookings took $300 deposit per person and ofcourse isn't transferring ressies to get the onboard credit and 10% discount and such.
And if that wasn't bad enough... I booked one room for 3 cat 11, then turned around and tried to book the other cat 11 for 2 people- and it only said avialable was cat 10- so I booked 2 people in the cat 10. Then I couldn't remember for SURE if it was a cat 10 or cat 11 I'd just booked at that price- so I go back thru the reservation process to compare the price to know if I booked a cat 10 or cat 11- and saw cat 11 available again for a considerable savings! (I really do not care to pay more for a cat 10 over 11 and besides we may have an easier time getting 2 cat 11's next to one another. I have no idea if cat 10 and cat 11's are near one another LOL)

So I booked yet another room, cat 11 for 2 people- but I neglected to notice my husband's name on the cardholder part before hitting to charge my card- tried to backpage to change that and it wouldn't let me. It's saying the reservation has been charged so I'm not sure if they were able to charge the card with his name when his name isn't on the card-or if that one will get bounced back/cancelled when that deposit pymt doesn't go thru.

and now I sit and wait. I can't get thru to DCL to try to find out if the cat 11 pymt went thru and to cancel the cat 10 reservation.. and can't reach my TA to see what's up with anything they've booked. I'll have to fix this later obviously- but for now.. atleast I know we'll be on this cruise. Now to save up for those airfare prices. LOL

With the high prices for the summer cruises and the 11nt southern- I'm getting completely "priced out" for disney cruises I'm afraid. If that is a sign of how much it will cost to cruise on disney, I fear we won't be able to cruise much with them. It's crazy amounts. we aren't the rockefellers. LOL

So we'll see, did you want me to?

I'm just sad and loved seeing her every day lol. It was so weird the first few times and then I remember seeing you out one day without her and it being a real "why hasnt she got the dog with her" moment.
