...and the 6 days at sea were great , the water was like glass .. incredible

pirate:

Oh DH will be happy to hear that!
He was worried that it might be extra rocky because of being in open water.
He gets a bit green around the gills when he forgets to take his dramamine! He does fine w/o it when the sailing is smooth though.

Is there more than one pirate night onboard?

Fav part was Barcelona , the History alone is incredible , then there is Gibraltar ...and the 6 days at sea were great , the water was like glass .. incredible

This will be my first time in Europe and I love the history that they have there. The US is a beautiful country, but compared to Spain, it's a toddler! I'm just excited to see everything.

Was the sailing fairly smooth overall?

Hi all!

Me and my DW to be (does that make her a DF?) will be joining you all on this amazing trip! We will be in 6045, booked yesterday online after dialing DCL hundreds of times and getting nothing but busy signals. We should be traveling with "The Mother" and who ever she decideds to bring along, provided she doesn't back out!

Anyway, sending out my Roll Call information soon, look forward to getting to know my fellow cruisers!

We were not on the WB TA in 2007...we were on the EB.....but I'm sure it was equally amazing. Our favorite things on that trip (in no particular order) were:

1.) The consecutive days at sea. I know people get very excited about the ports but Jason and I love love LOVE getting up and knowing we have nothing to do but enjoy the amazing ship!

2.) We really enjoy the "special shows." Because the cruise is so long they have to put specail shows in the Walt Disney theater. Now we were NOT big fans of "Mickey Dreams"....but we did love "Art of the Story" and we got to see Jim Brickman perform, as well, and that was a real treat, too.

3.) The middle of the Atlantic Ocean---this may sound hokey....but there is something truly awe-inspiring about the beauty and magnitude of being in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and knowing there is NO land anywhere nearby. It puts into perspective how truly small & insignificant we are on this great big amazing planet (cue "Circle of Life"....:lmao: :lmao: )

and

4.) The friends we made. The thread we were on before that trip allowed us to "meet" so many amazing people and then having such a long trip together gave us a real opportunity to get to know and appreciate people we would never have otherwise met. We were able to forge lifelong relationships....and I can truly say that some of our friends from that trip, who are consequently on this trip, too, are among our closest friends now!!

I'm not going to lie....and I think I posted this on Double Dip thread when another DIS friend asked about it....but on the EASTbound TA...the sailing was ANYTHING but smooth. (CACruisin', NHDisneylover, Brooklyn, Hoagie Pie, gismo, and anyone else from that trip can confirm!) It was fine in the Bahamas and once we got closer to the Med....but as we crossed the Atlantic we had very high waves and LOTS of motion. It just added to the excitement, though! (And made for some pretty unforgettable pictures of the pools on deck 10 being turned into wave pools!! :lmao: )

So pack your dramamine or ginger or little dots for behind your ears or magnetic wristbands or whatever you need!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I do remember reading that! I can imagine the pictures of pools on deck 10!

I'm going to bring what I had for this cruise but didn't need...hopefully it will be the same way! :thumbsup2

Our friends that where on that crossing showed us some pics of the "wave pools" and I am REALLY looking forward to that, it just looked like so much fun!

I just hope I don't get sick when we have to dine in Parrot Cay (The location for some reason always amplifies the slight affects the sea has on my stomach)

Okay , here we go .. The Cruise Logo are in Black as well .... I will post on the first Post as well .... Brooklyn if you can , could you post the different sizes and colors on the website ??? Thank you

Good morning!

I was wondering how many of you did the TA WB crossing in 2007?

It sounds like this cruise has a lot of repeaters (which I am always glad to hear!)

We did the EB

I agree!

The sea days were amazing. The extra shows were great! We did not like Mickey Dreams AT ALL. So glad they got rid of that. That show cost them SOOOOOOO much money too! Too bad DCL can't give DISer's previews and let us tell them what we think, :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The character interation was great! They were basically bored (the characters) bc the lines of children were not anywhere close to what they normally are!

We LOVED that we had main dining but that our dining rotation did not have anyone after us. There was not late seating for our servers to turn over too so we were never rushed. My mom showed up LATE every night it was fine. They just hung out and played games and did magic tricks for the kids. It was awesome!

It was VERY rough on the EB. We were rocking all over the place! It was still a blast though!

Here is a picture from deck 10 pool. It is hard to see just how big the waves were in the *bonus* wave pool but you can see all of the water that has been splashed up and is on its way back down!

Wow!!!!! That certainly is a wave pool!

I am glad we'll be sailing with experts!

Mike and I have never been to Europe, primarily because I am a terrible flyer. Any flight over 3 hours is a bit painful for me. When my brother decided to get married in Hawaii, and I had to fly there from NJ ... well, let's just say that took a LOT of gearing up on my end! It's more palpable for me to only make one long flight there (while excited about the trip), and a nice short plane ride home!

We will be booking our own air to keep some control. When I called to book the cruise (it was before 8:30 am yesterday) the DCL agent couldn't find any info on the hotels just yet; she couldn't find that they were released yet. Did someone say they were already sold out? The DCL agent didn't seem too concerned about it and told me I had plenty of time and I could check the website at my convenience for hotel info.

My plan is to book our air, and then have Disney add our hotel and transfers in Europe when I know when we'll be arriving.

For all you repeaters, what did you do? Did any of you risk it and just fly in the of departure? Last repositioning did the Magic dock in Barcelona over night?

Tier one must have been lower than that because we came in at $2101 per cabing with two in a cabin gty 11. I LOVE our travel agent:love: That is without transfers or air or insurance though so perhaps that is where the difference lies.

Hiya Hadley,

Are you sure you didn't have some discount here? $2435 was tier 1 so think your TA secured you a discount of some description which is cool

I want to echo everything Erik said about the Eastbound TA (inlcuding the lifelong friends part--the kids have even decided to claim Abby as their cousin so we "made family" on that cruise:goodvibes )

Brooklyn's photo of the wave pool was before it got so rough they fianlly closed all the pools! It was pretty darned exciting there for a while (and totally FUN--luckily DH was up on his ginger pills and did not get seasick). Formal nigth was teh first really rocky night and you should have seen all of us ladies staggering around in heels on a ROCKING ship:lmao: Elegant we were not!

OK, all or UK Pirates pirate: , I have a question.

We're set for the Renaissance Chancery Court for a two-day pre-nite. A couple of things.

What is a Must See in London? Big Ben is on our list. want to get an authentic Bobby Helmet for collection, The Palace Guards, and the Towers.
What would do and what beer would/do you drink?

The Natural History Museum is free - and has a huge collection of Darwin stuff

Covent Garden is fantastic to just wander around. Its a market type thing and theres loads of places to eat and drink around there.

London Eye is good if you want to see a nice view.

If you want to shop then Oxford Street.

Oh and the Tottenham Court Pub right on Oxford street near the We Will Rock You theatre is a traditional pub and cheap for London

Tour bus is good as you can hop on hop off.

If you get a chance see a show! Wicked is brilliant or We Will Rock You

For good mexican food Los Locos in Covent Garden is great!

Oh and just to say food can be expensive in London so try to eat around 5:30pm as most places offer a Pre-theatre set meal at this time thats cheaper than ala carte

So how was the westbound TA last time for those of us who have never been on a transatlantic. I know the eastbound was bumpy at times and the time loss sucked, but what about westbound?
