I wanted to read the thread from the last WB TA, and trawled backwards through the threads. I then just read it from them leaving home. It wasn't a very busy thread really, and finished last October I think.

Aww . Thanks. This does seem like a really nice group of people. Yes, Hoagie Pie, we definitely did some activities together on the May 2007 TA.

Be sure to check the luggage restrictions for the Dublin-Barcelona leg, since European carriers are much more strict on the wieghts. Usually a total weight limit per person, not per bag. So you can check in say 5 bags, but the combined weight can't be over maybe 20kg (about 44lbs). I know 20kg is the limit for Easy Jet, not sure about any other carrier. If you start in the US and then have a connection, you must follow the US rules. But if you take a solo European flight, you must follow the Europe rules.

The luggage restrictions both in the US and Europe will definitely make an impact on packing. We took WAY too much stuff on the EB TA 2007 .

I've been researching airfare and have discovered that it is cheaper to not fly directly into Barcelona, I've found airfare for under $400 to Dublin and for under $200 on to Barcelona. DH and I are thinking of flying out the Wednesday night prior - going to Dublin and spending the day there and then flying on to Barcelona that night and spending the next day touring Barcelona. We will probably end up booking into a hotel that DCL works with and getting transfers for at least that leg of the trip.

I shoudl look into somethign like that, too. My brother and his family live in Germany not too far from Frankfurt (he is in the Air Force). Maybe if we flew somewhere close to them we could see them and then get down to Barcelona...and maybe that would save money, too. The airfare is, indeed a big concern for us because it looks a bit outrageous at this point!

I've been looking at air fares too and love the advice I'm getting here. Keep it coming! I have another quick question. If I'm transfering a dummy booking from DCL can I book the cat 12 and still get my OBC and discount? I was thinking it had to be an 11 or up? There is $1,000 difference in a 12 to an 11.

Hmmm. I'd like to know the answer to this also. Certainly on the May 2007 TA we booked a cat 12 GTY and I'm pretty sure we got our OBC and discount.

Hey Tiffany - I homeschool like Hadley and in reality, we probably don't want to teach while on vacation, but little learning things here and there would be great. I had Abby ask our stateroom hostess and table servers what country they were from, find it on the map and give some details about their country that she wrote down. That was the extent of my "teaching" on the Double Dip. Hadley IS coming on our cruise. We just spoke and put our strategy plan together. She still wants late seating with Erik and I want early. We just talked with our other friend from our first TA and he doesn't want Disney to hold that much money for that long - he is going to wait it out and see what happens. Hopefully he will tag along just like he did on the Double Dip! Let me know what Kevin decides.
