Hmmm. I'd like to know the answer to this also. Certainly on the May 2007 TA we booked a cat 12 GTY and I'm pretty sure we got our OBC and discount.

Hey Tiffany - I homeschool like Hadley and in reality, we probably don't want to teach while on vacation, but little learning things here and there would be great. I had Abby ask our stateroom hostess and table servers what country they were from, find it on the map and give some details about their country that she wrote down. That was the extent of my "teaching" on the Double Dip. Hadley IS coming on our cruise. We just spoke and put our strategy plan together. She still wants late seating with Erik and I want early. We just talked with our other friend from our first TA and he doesn't want Disney to hold that much money for that long - he is going to wait it out and see what happens. Hopefully he will tag along just like he did on the Double Dip! Let me know what Kevin decides.

My son will be in 5th grade and I suspect his teacher will send work along for a 2 week trip. On the Double Dip we just kept a journal and collected money from the foreign ports. We were going to find 3 CM's each day from a foreign country and read a little bit about the country each night, but that was too much. Megan just started Kindergarten and we are putting together a DCL ABC Book. I'm not much for doing school work on vacation either.

I'm glad to hear Hadley is coming too.

I'm still on the fence about dining. We had main this time and 5:30 dinner was too early. But 8:00pm would be too late?

Wow - I cannot decidde what to do. WB TA 2007 I booked when it went on sale - cat 12 GTY and was upgraded to cat 9. I couldn't pass it up and since no one else could go w/me - I went alone. Although - had wonderful friends on the cruise - so that's a qualified "alone"!!
Even if I don't book on Tues - I think I'll hang here w/you guys as both DH & I really want to go on this cruise!!
And of course - lots of wonderful friends are going again this time!!

In one of my 3 calls to Member Services today, I found out something good and something bad.

Good - I confirmed with them that the fuel surcharge will no longer be required. They had stated $8 per person/per day of the cruise, so I was looking at paying another $384 up front for this. Glad that is gone...

Bad - I confirmed that Member Services just received an email notification that any guests booking the European Cruises for 2010 on DVC Points will NOT be able to select a stateroom to reserve. All ressies will be "guaranteed" status, meaning a room will be assigned at will in their category around two weeks before sail date. This really bums me out. I like to book early to get the best room selection.

Apparently, DVC feels that their members are not the same as cash paying customers, and we will not be allowed to choose a stateroom of our choice.

Major disappointment here.....

We are early dining people. Even with that DD (not quite 4 at the time) was asleep in her chair on more than a few nights ofthe EB TA. The time changes were killer. Also on the EB TA there were only two seatings, 6pm and 8:30pm, I think, since the ship was so empty.

Nope, not a plant. Just from our local chinese place. What makes it even better is DH got the fortune. He is the one always dragging his feet about taking vacations. I'm the planner.

I loved the 2007 WB w/you guys. Paul is already thinking about costumes!!! Whether to reprise or go for a new character ( no not Captain Teague!!) And if he go w/Sao Feng he'd only have one lady bodyguard (Not concubine!! haha)
No re 10 dsay Med - too pricey - this economic downturn has impacted our retirement portfolio (= income!!). We would probably do what I did last year - fly over a few days early to Paris and then take the train to Barcelona.
Hopefully in 2 years the economy & our situation will have recovered!!
BTW - are you still thinking mini meet at DL in Nov.?? We are on board for DL in March - its now our family tradition!!!

We will be at DL for sure in March , November is still iffy cause of Dylans football, if they make the playoffs we wont be able to go in Nov ....But I will let you know as soon as we know ....

I wanted to read the thread from the last WB TA, and trawled backwards through the threads. I then just read it from them leaving home. It wasn't a very busy thread really, and finished last October I think.

Yeah me and my sister rikimuk did a lot on the thread last year for the WB. It was very very quiet but we still managed to arrange a few things like a room tour and meets.

Luvtheears - we had late seating on the double dip and did not like it - we ate at 8:30!!!! We loved sitting with friends, but no way is eating french food or any food okay at 9:30 (by the time you get the food) and my daughter didn't like it because the lab and quest had things going at that time that was "good stuff" according to an 11 year old. I like the food on the cruise, but I am in it more for the entertainment and friends and sitting out on Deck 9 with a pizza and just relaxing. Have a great day everyone - I am driving to Tampa, which I hate!!!!
