Nicely done!! Where in Ohio are you from?

Lived in Brunswick (near Cleveland) for last 3 years of High school. Did undergrad at the University of Akron. Went to med school at Ohio State and lived in Columbus and Hilliard during that time. Now, I'm in Indiana near Indianapolis. Still an Ohio State fan. In fact the other day, while skimming, I swore I saw the user name "Buckeye Candy" instead of "Buckeye Goofy". Or else, I was just hungry!!

Please send all your spare pixie dust......
We were spending a beautiful day on the boat, lazing in the sun, boys having a few beers, girls giggling and gossiping, kids fishing until.......Belly caught Holly, yep, Holly ate the fish hook, swallowed it whole.
Lucky Mum was there with her car at the beach so we raced her straight to the 24hr Animal Hospital, Poor baby needs surgery to remove the hook which is in her stomach. So I had to leave my baby at the hospital and come home empty handed.
Waiting at home for the phone call now....waiting......waiting......waiting.....
She should be home tomorrow morning, $2000 later!
pixiedust: for Holly and a quick recovery!! Do you have pet insurance? It is quite common here to have it here in my area.

I have woken up from my last night shift before the cruise and I am very tired after only 3 hours sleep in 48 hours so I am sorry if I have missed anything but I really do not have the stamina to read through the 10 + pages you have all posted since my absence ..... I apologise if I missed anything important, and if someone could just point out any essential highlights from the last 24 hours I would be eternally grateful ... thank you.

Normal service resumed as of now .....

Only 9 shifts to work until the cruise

I work nights on occasion too, although I actually prefer them. I was toying with the idea of working nights up until 7am the day we leave (9/16), and then staying up all day until our flight leaves at 6:40. Maybe that would help with jetlag. Hmmmm.

Speaking of working nights, I am off to bed. No doubt I will wake up to 52 more pages. :goodvibes Good night. ;)

I can honestly say I never felt unsafe in Barcelona. We had such a great time there last summer and wandered around totally freely without any worries!:confused3
I know there have been lots of scary reports of trouble there but we found it no more worrying than any large city.:goodvibes

hi

glad you enjoyed being in Barcelona

i hope your right indeed it is very interesting what we like or do not like i spent most of my life in cities

i tend to enjoy more ordered cities so i guess chaotic like cities leave me cold

love munich, new york, paris, hong kong..

dislike LA, Naples

but i do like to feel relatively safe .. i know your not safe anywhere

but as a tourist we are very vulnerable ... it seems that in barcelona tourists are very much targetted

in fact last week barcelona was on the secret tourist BBC TV programme about attacks on tourists

it did give you some very good clues and advice

jason

yeah i second that

Germany is wonderful still one of my favourate places to visit in europe apart from france

my tip would be go to munich its a wonderful city and the people are so friendly .. the food and beer is great

i have gone back to munich many times over the years, salzburg is well worth a visit if your heading to austria

there is some great castles near there i would recommend neuwanstein which is aparently the inspiration for sleeping beauties castle

jason

I too love Germany and Munich. John and I pent two weeks at the Bayersher Hof just exploring Munich. I put two different websites under each Munich link.

John and I also did a Rhine River cruise from Nuremberg where John's father's family came from to America in the early 1800's.

We were taken to Neuschwanstein by our friend Walter and his wife who live in Munich. We stopped on the way to their house in Tirol

Sephora is also a 'must'!:yay:
I totally agree!!! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: I can spend hours in there...

I would have said Gibraltar was a little different to your average UK high street....especially off the main centre. We found a lovely little cafe in a square that was more spanish than British ......and the prices aren't UK :thumbsup2
That sounds nice, Mandy - I'm just planning on a wander around (no excursions booked) in Gibraltar and would like to get away from the main area... :goodvibes

It isn't showing me signed up to the Rock Tour or the Room Tour?? Maybe its just my pc being nuts lol!

I see you on the Stateroom tour. Can you try again with the Rock Tour, and make sure you select 'yes' to 'booked'. I know it's kinds klunky, but I needed to keep things somewhat simple on my end.

Oh, we've been to the US sooo often...

Where do we go?!

I LOVE Sketchers, Crocs.
A&F but mostly only to look, because I think it is expensive compared to its quality. AND their sizes are a miracle to me...

My GK's prefer Hollister which is a little bit less expensive.

Adidas, because it's cheaper than here!!! And we live right to the city of Adidas' headquarter.

I can only wear New Balance (prefer kids size) as I have small and wide feet.

Hm... what else...

For food. We love WHOLE FOODS MARKET. Could spend hours there only to look!

Reaching Port Canaveral we always visit Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon.

If you ever get to the SF Bay area, you would really love Mollie Stones which is owned by Samantha's best friends parents.

Being from California, we get a huge kick out of Ron Jon Surf Shop as we do not consider Florida to have "real" surf waves.

Tristan turned 11 months yesterday...

I've redone it so fingers crossed. It did show me as down for it but I went in and removed then readded and it worked!!! YEAH!

Isn't that the truth? You roll those genetic dice and you don't know what you're going to get. I'm 5'2" and DH is 6'4". Our DDs are between 5'4" and 5'6". However, DGD2's father is 6'7" and she is showing every indication that she's going to be tall. (You know how you can look at a puppy's feet and pretty much figure it'll be a big dog by the size of its paws? Well, she's 27 months old and wearing a children's size 8 shoe (don't know how that translates internationally, sorry, but as a reference a friend's 4 yo wears an 8 too).

Not sure that always works out though.....:rotfl2:....Becky had really long feet as a child and was always tall for her age. Everyone kept telling us she was destined to be very tall......hmmmmm.......at 22 she's just 5ft 1inch..........don't think she'll suddenly shoopt up now!:rotfl::thumbsup2

You might be interested in Lane Bryant (check out their website, too). There is an LB outlet at PRIME OUTLETS INTERNATL, 4953 INTERNATIONAL DR 1B12, ORLANDO, FL 32819. They used to be very matronly, but in the past few years they are definitely courting the younger crowd.

Oh thanks, I did go to LB when they used to be at Florida Mall, but didn't know they had an outlet :goodvibes

I always have a long list from Becky for my Sephora visits too!:thumbsup2 She was pleased to find it in Barcelona last year ......

I'll tell you more about the place in Gibraltar onboard Kaz, if you like...:woohoo:

Glad it's over for you, Sarah. Now get some rest.. :flower3:

Kimberly,

Excellent list (well, as far as a guy can tell). While I will keep out of your 'mentionables' drawer, I thought I'd offer a suggestion regarding your 'tops'.

Tops (eek!):
2 cardigans
4 T-shirts (includes our WBTA Logo and MMC t-shirts)
7 blouses (includes Champagne Girls)
1 Ohio State University (American) Football Jersey - Scarlett (Home games on 9/18 and 9/25)
1 Ohio State University (American) Football Jersey - White (Away game on 10/2)

I think Sue thought I was crazy for packing a jersey I wouldn't need until the day we disembark, but one has to have ones priorities. :lmao:

:thumbsup2very cool :thumbsup2

O - H

\Should we be having a photo op with everyone wearing their football or soccer (football) jersey? If so, I inquiring minds need to know as have to add two to the packing list!!

Thanks ever so much for the link!! Do you they take credit cards the same as in the USA?

Since you seem to know a lot about Gibraltar, do we need to take many Gibraltar pounds? I was reading on many sites that you are really loosing a lot of money if you use Euros instead of Gibraltar pounds.

They do take credit cards, the pound is the legal currency but alot of shops will take euros ,but the shop will set the rate of exchange. ( Some will also take US dollars)

British coins and Bank of England notes circulate in Gibraltar and are universally accepted and interchangeable with Gibraltar issues. one Gibraltar Pound = One British Pound

Gibraltar notes are denominated in "pounds sterling", they are not legal tender in the UK

Tourists from UK are advised to change their unspent Gibraltar pounds into UK currency at parity in Gibraltar before departure as UK banks charge for exchanging the Gibraltar Pound

I usually have a l-o-n-g list from Sophie - glad she's going to be in Orlando this October and can buy her own!!!

I'll tell you more about the place in Gibraltar onboard Kaz, if you like...:woohoo:

:littleangel:
Thanks, Mandy - that would be lovely... :thumbsup2
