I searched back through part 8 of this meet thread, and found that 7 people had expressed interest in doing yoga. As i recall, the "hidden deck" at 7 aft is more than big enough for that many, and more, so I think we should try to make this work. Cynthia (elderfam) has volunteered to lead, and I can lead in a pinch (I'd call myself an "experienced beginner"). As well, the professional fitness people on board (as I recall) offer yoga sessions every 2-3 days, although their sessions tend to be short, only about 30 minutes.

Here are the names of the people who have expressed interest in yoga that I could find in the thread:

For others who haven't done yoga and are curious, it's a wonderful way to increase your flexibility, strengthen core muscles, and help you stay active and healthy as you age. There's a yogic saying that "You're as young as your spine", and yoga is all about the spine and breathing. I do it once a week as a counterpoint to walking and weight lifting (not at the same time!) the rest of the week, and always feel both relaxed and energized afterwards. Try it, you might like it! As Cynthia has said, we won't be doing super-bendy stuff. And if there's a qualified instructor or an experienced yogi or yogini in our midst - please step forward and help us! It doesn't have to be every day, even just once or twice would be helpful.

Should we ask gismo (Sarah) to add yoga, deck 7 aft ("secret deck") at 7:30 a.m. on sea days to the DIS navigator?

Namaste, and See You Real Soon! :flower3:

I've not shown up on the last night for the same reason and have gotten the cold shoulder the next morning at breakfast from the servers because they think you have "stiffed" them. Once you whip out their tip envelopes they become "friendly" again...but is is a bit uncomfortable until they get them!

Paul

There's no excuse for any CM to act unfriendly. OTH, you have to realize their position. I don't know exactly for DCL but I know service people on Carnival get paid about $200 a month. They absolutely depend on the tips to make a living.

Having been shamed into starting on the packing by all you organised cruisers.....tonight had to be the night! Bob gone to work. Blinds well drawn. Into the cupboards...
The SWIMSUIT try on!!!!!:scared1::eek::scared1::eek::scared1::eek:
Needed an adult beverage to get over it :lmao:
Once faced..have managed to find a one piece swimsuit and a two piece I am reasonably happy with; of sufficient fit, modesty and coverage as befits a geezer in training :thumbsup2

Now...on to the shorts.....
I feel I am rather behind here...but am working on it :cool1:
Lyn

so do I ... I absolutely detest nights and I will be out of sorts for about 3 days following it ... that is why I will be relieved when it's all over !!! :thumbsup2
OMG yes - I'd forgotten that. Plus I always found with nights that I was 'out of sorts' on the days leading up to the stint too - it just used to hang over my head...

Anyway, hope it's OK and once it's over, you can look forward even more to the cruise!!! :woohoo:

I got the most thoughtful surprise in the mail that I just have to share with you. I know I've mentioned on here how incredibly sweet Tiffany (Gradysmommy who makes FEs for many of you) is and how disappointed I was when they changed their plans to not go with us on this cruise. She contacted me a little over a month ago saying she bought a lot of lanyard pins on Ebay for her kids to exchange during their next WDW adventure in September. In the lot, there was a buckeye nut Mickey Ears pin. She said as soon as she saw it, she knew where to send it. :) She sent me a picture of it, and I was just so excited! I've never seen anything like it before! Wasn't that nice?!!

So a large envelope comes out of my mailbox from her today. Now why in the world would she put this little pin in a large padded envelope? I got inside, opened it up, and literally started crying.
happy_tears.gif
She made me a buckeye pillow case for the cruise for autographs. O.M.G.! :goodvibes What a treasure that is! Little did she know that I still hadn't decided on what I was taking to have autographed, either. I had a difficult day yesterday, and this little "hug" was just what I needed. Soooo sweet and thoughtful that Tiffany is! :lovestruc

That is so sweet of her to think of you...I have known Tiffany for several years...She is the best!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Yes we could add that to the room tour. One room for each couple of sizes :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Oh dear. Well at least you have found some that work for you. Up to last year I had shorts stored in sizes 12 to 18!! I gave my 12's to our daughter!!

Swimsuits are always a problem. No hiding, no escape. I need one of those spanx suits. Trouble is swimsuit time for me is Castaway Cay, at the END of the cruise.:scared1::scared1::scared1: I don't think I will have need to wear one before then.

Here is a link to all the menus from the Med cruise we came off of yesterday - just to give an idea of what might be on offer

http://www.flickr.com/photos/40285840@N03/sets/72157624762416612/

Thank you - I already see a sandwich I like on the brunch menu! THANK YOU! Also, I would print out any papers AND if fill them out in the book. I never want them to pause and leave me to think they are rethinking of me getting on the ship. One time I gave the CM 3 papers, all the same, and I said, "I don't want you to deny me boarding." She laughed.

Wow! Way to go!
Rene

Thanks!:goodvibes

:littleangel:

I was thinking about you yesterday wondering if things are looking better. Hang in there. We're thinking about you!

I'm glad you had some positive news to dance over! Congrats on the free shopping!!! :goodvibes That's awesome!!

Thank you so much

The idea of Becca loosing her tooth while we are cruising reminds me of a story that I read here on the DIS some time ago that had may of the readers tearing up over. A DD had lost her tooth while they were sailing, and the DW happened to mention it to the stateroom host/hostess simply as a topic of conversation telling him/her that her DD was just so excited the tooth fairy was going to visit her that night. When they got back from dinner, there was a trail of shimmery pixie dust that led from the veranda door to the bed and nightstand. There was a signed picture of Tinkerbell for the DD sitting on the bed along with something else (I don't remember what though). Anyways, that was incredibly special and absolutely unprovoked! That's the best pixie dust one can get!

What a magical story!:wizard:

I have decided most men, given the chance, would be quite happy wearing the same clothes all week!

Should I mention I've already put it in there lol! Added it when it was suggested before incase this was later confirmed and I assume this is the confirmation so its all good!

I haven't even thought about clothes yet, I haven't even been through my wardrobe to see what still fits, probably not much :rotfl: I have however been sorting much more important things like door magnets :thumbsup2 I might go shopping the week before we go and pick up a few bits and then pack the night before :thumbsup2
I can't believe I haven't checked the thread for about 2 days and already the old one has been closed and your all nearly 30 pages into a new one :worship:

HI everyone

Well its not so long now 26 days (i leave on the 16th!) so have to be packed soon

I know i would find it useful to have some packing tips

oh yeah still need to buy a suit case i need one for carry on and one for main luggage

I am going for the cruise then going straight to Disney world for 10 days so need alot of clothes

formal and casual so lots of T shirts, swim wear etc

well i can only carry 20 KG as easy jet only allows in hold luggage that amount (virgin is a little over)

well came up with a pretty neat solution

for those in the UK asda are selling those vacumn style space saving clothes bags 2 for £5 but the neat thing is THEY DO NOT NEED a vacum you fill then up seal the one end (they are reusable) then you roll them up and the air is expelled from the bottom .. ITS ACE it really works and its easy :yay: it really drops the space you take with t shirts, jeans and casual trousers or shirt or even swimming shorts not the formal wear though

hay they are also waterproof but they will crease everything

so does any one else have any packing tips ?

jason

I was at the airport once and this poor lady was trying to redistribute her packing because she was way over the weight limit. The problem was she had used all those space savers and assumed she would be ok because everything fit. She didn't seem to realize getting rid of the air didn't reduce the weight of the clothes. She was in tears and I really felt bad for her. Kinda reminded me of when I got a great deal on books in Hawaii, hardbacks for .25 at a library sale. It wasn't such a great deal when I had to pay the over weight charge at the airport. Oh well, live and learn. Val
