I have not seen it there. They have treadmills, crosstrainers, bikes and various resistance equipment as well as free weights and spinning bikes.

This trip I am determined to pack my trainers.... AND put them on!!! Never managed it before.

I did both for the first time on the Med cruise.

Right, I better head for bed. I am on an early tomorrow and have another stressful day ahead of me. See you all tomorrow.

Corinna

Speaking of documents, we finally got our as well. Of course, DH said to me, where are my luggage tags as they only sent two!!

It is amazing to me that documents mailed from Disney in Florida to our TA main office in Ft. Lauderdale would take this long to be mailed to us. They at least send them second day Federal Express.

Our TA said our documents came USPS so it seems DCL spreads it around. I got 4 luggage tags. Two have both mine and Bob's name and two just have mine repeated twice. I think I resemble that!! val

Glad I'm not the only one... ;) Night, Corinna!!!

I'm off to bed myself. Just have to pay for a dress I'd forgotten I bid for - and subsequently WON - on eBay... Oh well... :rolleyes1

Hilarious that DCL sends it Federal Express in Florida and it STILL takes over a week. IMHO, I think they send the Florida TA documents last.

I had a manicure for my Vow Renewal back in 2007 and it was rather poor. And not cheap!

I have gel nails at the moment - week 3 and had the infills yesterday. I'm a huge fan. Do you have a colour or French? French last better IMO as it's less obvious when they grow out. I currently have my favourite 'pillar box red' but think I'll switch to a French for the cruise. It's easy to update it with a coat of something sheer and sparkly too...

I have never had a good manicure on the ship. They wind up bubbly and sloppy! Right now I have color on my nails, and I hate it. I like color on my toes, but this NY Apple Red or whatever it's called makes me feel a bit of the "lady of the evening." Thanks for the tip on getting a french. I usually keep my nails short and sheer. And I am definitely going to do that next time. I guess it's good that I got color this time so I can see how bad I wear them.

Here is another tip of the evening for keeping your manicure fresh: never let suncreen near your polish. Sunscreen is a bad offender for dulling and matting your polish.

It is a great book. My all time favourite is "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. The sequel "World Without End" is also great and one of the books I have downloaded for the cruise. Have you read those? They have made a TV series based on "The Pillars of the Earth", which has already aired in USA and Canada and is currently being shown in Ireland. I just hope that it will not be on in the UK while we are on this cruise.

Corinna

Corinna, do you have Netflix in the UK? The Pillars of the Earth is available for streaming on Netflix now. I am currently watching it on Starz (we have a season pass on our TIVO), and I am enjoying it very much. The 2-hour finale is this Sunday!

Has any one read any of Nelson DeMille's Detective John Corey novels? They are my faves (Plum Island, The Lion's Game, The Lion). All very good, especially if you have a dry sense of humor.

Uh-oh. Do you need a gym buddy?!

I actually love working out on the ship. It's one of the few times that Mike and I get to work out together. We've just installed a total gym pull-up bar in one of our doorways. Sadly, I am only up to 5 pull-ups. Hoping to get to 10 in a row before the cruise. My Irish/Polish heritage did not give me firm, thin arms....

If anyone is still looking for luggage, REI is having a Labor Day Sale.

The 28" green Wheely Beast will be on sale for $109.99 (usually $149).

According to the flyer I got today, the sale starts 8/27 thru 9/6.

http://www.rei.com/product/778756

That link was showing the old price.

We haven't used ours yet, but it got good reviews and it looks sturdy.

Looks great except for the weight being 9.5lbs empty.

Thank you Melodie for the nice compliment. However, just for clarification, my name is Noel!!

Hi everybody. We were on the ebta, and envy you the wonderful time that is just around the corner for you! And special salutations to krisann, and anyone else that was also on that trip.

Sometimes I truly amaze myself with my dumbness....this would be one of those times. I am the costum-er/pr guy/scheduler for my brother and my son who are both professional Santa Clauses. When we stopped at Gibraltor in April it was my intent to go to a bank and try to buy a handful of the 50 pence coins in Gibraltor currency. Each Christmas they do a new one with a holiday-inspired picture on one side. Some Santas love to have some loose in their pocket (along with a North Pole issued drivers/flyers license) to help convince doubting kids.

Well, you know about good intentions....I was traveling with my dh, in a wheelchair, and my ds, who is low-end Down syndrome. After a kind of disastrous port day in Madiera, I decided that we'd just stay on board at the other ports, and that worked fine, with the exception of the lack of 50 pence coins. Really dumb to be so close and not make the extra effort to collect some!

I can buy them on Ebay, but the seller charges $8.00 each (the exchange rate puts them at about $0.78 each) which is a steep mark-up.

If anyone is planning on wandering around downtown Gibraltor, and wouldn't mind going into a bank and picking me up some coins, I'd be really delighted to send you some cash. Just pm me, please.

Thanks, and have a wonderful trip!

My dad collects everything so I'll be on the look out to pick some up for him. If I find them I'd be happy to get a few extra for you. Give me more details on where I might find them and what they are exactly. When we get back I'll let you know if I found them. If I did and you haven't gotten them from someone else, I'll send them. If you got them from someone else I'll just give them to my Dad in his Christmas sock. val

"The Pillars of the Earth" is a great book and one of my favorites as well. :thumbsup2 It's one of the only books I've ever read twice and I read quite a bit. Have you read "Night Over Water" by Ken Follett? I thought that was a pretty good book too.

I finally got up to page 30 and you are on page 81. I am getting so excited, so stressed, overwhelmed all wrapped up in one. Bought luggage at Macy's so I'm getting excited. Stressed because with trying to plan, I don't have time to eat so I'm stressed (remember, stressed spelled backwards is desserts)popcorn:::rotfl:. (I purchased a large number of Balanzo 3 in 1 digital luggage scales reg $34.95 that I am willing to sell to my DIS friends for only $19.95 plus shipping if anyone is interested. Just PM me. Bought them as gifts to give to my traveling friends for the holidays but I can get more). I just don't know how much to pack. 14 Disney Cruises later and I'm lost. Can't think. Usually I have everything planned far in advance but with my mom passing away in May and my eye surgery in June, I can't get my act together. Wait, where's my chocolate? :rotfl2:

Congratulations to everyone that has lost weight. I think I found it. ALL OF IT. :lmao: I wanted to try to lose weight prior to the cruise but honestly, I'm gaining so I'm putting off fitting on clothes. No store here has summer clothes or bathing suits left - only winter clothes out.

I have my fish extender and bought gifts only to find I thought I was on a list but I don't see me on a list.

Seems like everyone is so organized, packing, planning etc etc while I'm
DISorganized.

Anyway, 3 weeks from today, we'll be on our way to Barcelona. :thumbsup2:woohoo::dance3::yay: Can't wait to meet everyone.

Bev

Wheres dessert ill take some.... Chocolate chip cookies from room service.. YUUUUUUMMMMMMM.... yes congrats to all those who lost weight. Ill wait until i get on the cruise to lose my weight.

I have not done the personal trainer on the ship, but if you actually do it, I would be very interested to hear all about your experience. :goodvibes

We should add that to our cruise website: gym buddy sign-ups!

WARNING THIS IS A LONG POST!!

READ ONLY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A ST MAARTEN TOUR

A Bernard Tour in St Maarten has been booked and deposited. So far, we have a total of 32 people confirmed in three vans. If you have PM either Betty (grmmybtty) or myself, your name is listed below as confirmed on the tour.

We have room for 4 more persons. If I don't hear from anyone in the next week or so, I am going to tell Betty (grmmybtty) and Bernard of Bernard Tours that the tour is closed to new members.

Betty (grmmybtty) has asked me to try to help her as she will be out of town until September 8, 2010.

The cost is $45 per person payable in cash or credit card to Bernard the morning we meet up with him. Betty will have more details at a later time about the exact meeting location and time.

The tour will be from 9am-3pm and will consist of the following stops:
·Great Bay overlooking Phillipsburg and harbor.
·Cayhill overlooking Simpson Bay marina.
·Sunset Beach bar ( Maho Beach ) where you can see the planes land right over your head.
·Marigot - open market (French Capital).
·Swim and or snorkel at Dawn Beach for up to two hours, as time allows.

Since it is our own private tour, the time at each stop is negotiable. Bernard has the above schedule pretty tight on the standard tour. The first 2 stops are just scenic stops, shouldn’t be too long since there are only 12 of us. He probably has things timed so that we would be at Maho Beach when the planes are flying overhead. 30 minutes is usually allotted for the market at Marigot. The rest of the time will be spent at the beach for lunch and swimming/snorkeling.

There are restrooms and restaurants for lunch at Dawn Beach

Water, beer, soda and rum punch will be served throughout the trip

Upon your return to Philipsburg, you will be offered a direct return to the ship at the Cruise Facility, or you may choose to remain in Philipsburg for shopping and return to the ship on your own.
You may walk from the drop off point to the ship in about 12 - 15 minutes, or choose to take a taxi for about $3.00 per person.

The people on the tour are:
grmmybtty (betty & armando)
birkner (noel & john)
luvdamouse (melissa & mike)
custard tart (karen)
valbob (val & bob)
yukon girl (janice + 1)
paulcrsb (paul)
terapin - (carolynn & 6 other family members)
steamboat will (warren & abby)
we're aliens (jane & dave)
dolphingirl47 (corninna & graham)
sezmo (sarah & elizabeth)
con5421 (connie & patrick)
tink,2 (Lynn & 2 family members)

Please let me know via PM if you are interested ASAP.
