Not sure what a wave machine is but sounds interesting!

On a good note, I got 1 week left on my C25K program. Tomorrow starts my final week - W9D1. 30 min straight running. Wish me luck all. At least I know that I'll be in somewhat of a cardio fit shape for all our happenings.

GOOD LUCK!!! :thumbsup2 I'm not a runner - too harsh on my knees nowadays...

Does anyone know if TinkRules and QueenMum are joining us? They are signed up for the strawberry FE, but are still listed as GTY. I'm trying to finalize my personalized FE gift and need to get them done soon, but without their names I can't do theirs.

What is a wave machine? Never heard of it.

This explains it quite well:
The latest and greatest piece of equipment to hit gyms is the Technogym Cardio Wave. It is similar to an Elliptical, except that your legs move side to side (they call it multiplanar movement) rather than front to back -- it's kind of like you're speed skating. The great thing about the Cardio Wave is that it really works your butt and promotes coordination all while giving you a great cardio workout.

The Jester? :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We heard this on a trip to somewhere, it was one of DH's first experiences with audiobooks. I'd been using them for months but he actually liked it. Helps the trip pass a bit easier.

I think the reason I had forgotten all about this is that I read it after DH had his motorbike accident in 2003. I essentially read this while I was waiting for him to come out of surgery, which was a very nerve-wrecking time.

Ours have not arrived. Then again, I am not surprised because Canada Post is really sucky.

Thanks for letting me know. Sending to Canada and Australia is somewhat new for me so I have no clear expectations how long it should take. I send to the USA all the time and that normally takes about a week.

I love the Wave machine - such a great low impact cardio machine... :thumbsup2

I got my butt back to the gym on Tuesday and will be there tomorrow. It's been a while and I'm a bit achy today. I tend to do cardio (Wave, treadmill, bike, rower) interspersed with free weights.

I think I've finally got my gymojo back!!! :yay:

I have never tried the Wave machine. Maybe I should have a go at this tomorrow. I love the treadmill, the bike and the crosstrainer. I am not too keen on the resistance equipment. I had my programme review on Sunday and we included some time on the Powerplate in my routine. Talk about a weird sensation.

My heart rate monitor arrived earlier this week so now the machines will talk to me properly.

Could luck on your run. Running is one thing I cannot do.

It completely changed my opinion of James Patterson - IMO it's as good as any traditional classic...

It is a great book. My all time favourite is "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. The sequel "World Without End" is also great and one of the books I have downloaded for the cruise. Have you read those? They have made a TV series based on "The Pillars of the Earth", which has already aired in USA and Canada and is currently being shown in Ireland. I just hope that it will not be on in the UK while we are on this cruise.

:wave2: folks,

gotta to sign off for a while. Played long enough. Got to feed the brain and get my day started. Toodles.

Here is some information about the wave machine:

We have two or three of those at my gym, but I never tried them before. I might have a go tomorrow.

Corinna

OK - now that looking interesting. And fun actually. Not too hard on the knees either. And might I comment, this is just my opinion, but I love to see models with a bit of flesh on them. I am in no way saying these ladies are big but I am so used to seeing double 00's as models that I look at these ladies and go - wow! I can use this. :rotfl2:

OMG-----finally catching up! Haven't been on the boards at all since this past Saturday (MY BIRTHDAY!!!---8/21/74 like my screenname)......andyou guys are as chatty as ever.....

so a very general congrats to everyone who's gotten good news (like docs and visas and the such)...

and a general big hug to anyone who's gotten not so good news (like health issues, challenges with shopping and packing, or lost pets).....

and that's gonna have to be good enough because I just spent liek 5 hours skimming a bazillion pages and can't remember much....although i do have a couple multi-quotes!!.........

We were booked as a family until we realized that the 3 in high school would just miss too much school--so we cancelled--now we're back on, but just for us parents!! The kids are guilting us, but we are considering booking the May crossing for them. This'll be our third TA, so you KNOW how much we LOVE the DISNEY TA!!!!!!

Are there any lanyards still out there? If not, at least what color are they? We'll make due if we're too late. LOL! I'll even make my own handy-dandy name tag! The lanyards were so cool to have on the previous trips. I did send a note to Tigger(bunch of numbers), but haven't heard back yet.

Anyone remember me from other cruises??? Is Hadley still going? CAcruisin? I can't wait to see old friends. Lorraine!!!!! Here we go!!!!

Looking forward to my happy place!

WELCOME BACK!! As you've heard already, many of our friends from the last TA are not with us anymore, but some are....and we have an equally fantabulous bunch aboard this voyage I can already tell!!

No upgrades available....just got off the phone with DCL Castaway Club....just wanted to see if anything changed and an upgrade got a little more reasonable.....told that there are no upgrades available....nothing....nata......so we will be very comfortable in stateroom 2000....surrounded by fellow Disborders.....
Tom & Marilou

This does not surprise me...and I've seen others post that they suspect that we are full...and I agree. I have heard from friends that the ship has filled up in the last 2 to 4 weeks with Disney CMs who were able to get great deals for last minute booking and CM discounts...so we'll be a full and fun boat, I'm sure!

I want to know if anyone is dressing up on prince and princess theme night or villain night.

We will be wearing our Disney Princess tuxedo sets and we have red and black villain ties for villain night (and we may still make masks...we'll see how this weekend goes)

I guess it all depends whos in that room! Maybe it was a celebrity lol!

Well...looking at the map of the ship, it looks like Jason and I are awfully close to the Deck 6 laundry room...although I doubt we qualify as celebrities....but I promise not to request they shut it down on this trip (unless of course they shut it down for my private use since I am bringing about a week's worth of clothes for a month-long vacation...so we will need to do laundry at least twice on the B2B...so if they'll close it and let me use it then all bets are off! :lmao:)

The strength of a refrigerator magnet (very similar to the types of magnets used for door decorations) is about 50 gauss (measured at the surface). If you measure 1 foot away, it drops to .001 gauss, at 7 feet (the air shipping requirement), it drops to virtually 0.

So, unless you are putting up your door decorations with a 1" X 1" X 3" neodymium-iron-boron magnet, you'll be fine!

Exactly. I'm glad someone cleared this up. Jason and I are door magnet guys...we always have tons of them. And we have always flown with them, too....and never had them questioned once.

I heard from Tink Rules today (I had PMed her about her cabin number for the lanyard list) and, sadly, it looks like they will NOT be joining us for the trip----however her famous (or infamous??) plush friend, Planky, IS going to be coming on the voyage-----accompanied by CustardTart apparently!

The Wave is great - once you get the rhythm, try it with your hands behind your back as if you're speedskating - excellent!!!

The Powerplate is AMAZING!!! :worship: It works muscles like I've never known. I've decided to buy one for the home - once I have a home again!!! IF I ever have a home again...

I cant wait to hear how you ladies get on with it, maybe its just me, let us know!

Calling all back to back cruisers

Johanna kindly responded to my plea last time round, but due to the duration of the excursion she is doing, she is unlikely to be able to help me. So I thought I place another call out.

At the port at Tunis, there is a wonderful little shop and I could still kick myself that I did not buy something when I was there. I am just wondering if somebody could get this for me. I am happy to Paypal the money, send you Amazon gift certificates or if you are happy to let me have your full name, reservation number and cabin number, add it to your onboard account for the Med cruise. If somebody could help me, you would really make my day.

Happy Belated Birthday, Erik!

Thank you for your kind words. My sister and I were at the doctor for almost 2 hours today. After discussing everything with the PA, she went and talked our our regular MD. Together they decided on a couple of things. One of them was to start a daily injection of Victoza to try to help with the weight gain. I'm really hoping it works because I'm tried of trying to lose weight and seeing the scale go up and up. I'm going to take the first inject tomorrow morning, so keep your fingers crossed!

Good luck; I hope that treatment works for you :flower3:. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be.

You are the man with the answers! :worship:

I have to get my car inspected tomorrow...keep your fingers crossed that I don't need brakes! I've had the car for 8 years and I do believe I've gone through 8 sets of brake! :lmao:

I hope you pass w/o problems! What kind of car is it?

My daughter just ended her 8 month stint as a college program cast member. She and all her friends were so sad about it all ending. (Can't feel too sorry, as she is off to Hawaii to continue college!) They had the time of their lives. She got red roses from one of them today, and a couple of others drove up from Orlando to visit for a couple of days. I wish I could've had that experience as a college student. So jealous, but happy for her. She's now seasonal and will work when she is off school.

I waited tables and emptied bedpans (different institutions :rotfl:). I wish I'd had her experience, too!

I posted on FB that my nightmares have started. Also my son's. I hope to God he doesn't stress out which in turns stresses me out. The bad thing with us is that we stress our bodies out I think we are both getting sick. :sad2: Not a good thing. Taking tomorrow easy so that it has a day to get back into normal mode.

You probably already know this, but do try not to stress too much. Stress definitely lowers your resistance to disease, and then, of course, you get more stressed because you're sick. We don't want you to go there :sad2:.

I took a skirt back I had bought a couple of weeks ago and then picked the same skirt up in the sale for £13 less. I like it when that happens.:) So I then went and bought 2 pairs of shoes. I have gone from no black wedges to having 3 pairs. But, one pair will be going back.:lmao: Goodness me, I could have bought so many pairs of shoes. The clothing racks were still quiet too, but I decided I had better not look there.:rotfl2:

Good for you!

Makes me feel better about not getting a long formal gown as I will get more wear out of my sale clothes and shoes than the gown. And, who looks at me anyway!!! So many other more gorgeous gals(and guys too) to look at!!

I also figure no one will be looking at me (we more mature princesses don't register on anyone's radar except for our more mature princes :rotfl: and thank heavens for that!!!)

Anyone else refuse to do mani/pedi's on the ship? I just got back from my first 2-week OPI manicure (gel nails or whatever they're called). It's my trial run to see what they look like in 2.5 weeks so I know whether I can handle it for the cruise.

I bring my own stuff for manis/pedis; it's MUCH cheaper. Plus the first time I went for a pedi (at the Grand Floridian, no less), I ended up w/a toenail infection. Go figure.

On Holland America, we send out our laundry all the time. It's lovely ... it comes all folded and wrapped in tissue paper in a wicker basket. Anyway, one cruise, Mike and I got back someone's stained, ripped, big girl underpants. You know ... that pair. I turned them back into our room steward saying that they weren't ours, carefully wrapped back up in the tissue paper of course. I then imagined them going from room to room trying to find someone to claim that hot mess. I learned very quickly not to send anything out that I wouldn't be embarrassed to have delivered to someone else's cabin!

Woooo...you got that right!

Thanks again, Noel. Do you think DCL is looking for a new Shorex Manager?! You'd be a great fit. :)

She sure would :worship:.

I am still in the midst of the Millenium triology.

I just started the third book and can't put it down (except for DISing, of course).

Our docs finally arrived today. Now it really seems real. Wooo-hoooo

It's about gosh-darn time. And for Noel, too.

B2B'ers, your time is SOOOO near! :dance3: :woohoo: I'm so thrilled for you all!

You are just too nice, I'm just jealous of them all!!!;)

I'm a little of both!! I am thrilled for them and hope they have a great time and I am also jealous! Guess I'm just confused :confused3

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA TOUR MEMBERS

Nicole-I am not on this excursion that you have organized but I must say after looking at the details you provided - you definitely deserve one of the tinkerbell awards!!:thumbsup2

Attention Jewellery Making People

Can I just ask you again to let me know when your kits arrive. At the moment there seem to be 11 packages MIA, three of which were mailed on August 16th (2 to USA and one to Canada) and the remaining ones were mailed on August 17th (one to Australia, two to Canada and 5 to USA). The ones that have arrived in the USA all took 6 days and we are well over this by now. Looks like Royal Mail hired a slow donkey to transport out packages.

Corinna

Confirming that I did receive my package a while ago.
