How many cases can you bring total then ..... we can only bring 2  ( one each ) and anymore we have to pay extra but it is still the same weight allowance.
I don't think I could manage with just 1 piece of luggage, Sarah!!! I paid an extra £28 to BA so I could take 2 x 23kg to BCN... On my VA flight back from MCO I get 2 x 23kg as standard PLUS an additional 23kg as a Flying Club member so at least I know I can go shopping!!!

Hi everyone.....having a hard time keeping with all the stuff with dd going on at home......so just wanted to say a quick 'hi' .....this cruise can't come soon enough!:rolleyes1

Have a good weekend everyone...see you all in 4 short weeks :cool1::grouphug:

:littleangel:
     Thinking of you, hun...

Paula: i have lost the post where you offered this, but we would be interested in the info on the self-guided tour of Tortola please.
Me too, please Paula... ::yes::

I don't now feel quite so bad knowing someone else takes loads of stuff!!! Only thing is I also take some of John's allowance. I like choice, and I have lots of bits n bobs and toiletries etc. I really am stressing about how I am going to cut down.

I am going to pack next week, then I will repack, then the night before we leave, I'll repack!

I do the multiple packing thing also except I've already done the first one. Each time I repack I realize that I'm taking too much and then I find some things I can live without. I usually pack VERY light but it seems a shame to do that on a cruise. I'm looking forward to wearing something different every night. This is going to be fun!

It's all the flippin' toiletries/skin stuff I have to take, Maz and that accounts for one case alone - not a 23kg case (more like 15kg) but a case nonetheless... :headache:

2 words for you:

Outlet mall. :lmao::thumbsup2:woohoo:

Oh, don't worry I know. We have been to America loads of times, I was in La and Las Vegas in February this year even! I try not to shop much here in OZ, (I said TRY, lol) It is so expensive. So when I get there my DH knows to stand back and let me go. I love Coach, J Crew, Banana, Tory Burch shoes, Gap, Macy's, Ross, Marshalls, Gymboree, Bath & Bodyworks, Tiffany (oooh Tiffany), I know bazaar selection there. You know when you go to another country and don't really know where to go, well those were just the recommended shops from my friend who used to live in Texas, So any others I need to check out? Tell me your favourite USA shops....Everyone?????

We are allowed 2 cases at 23kg's each on the way to Europe, plus a cabin bag. And we can take 3 cases at 23kg's each for Terry and I and 2 for the girls on the way home from America. Our problem is we are renting a car in LA for a couple of days on the way home from WDW, and we'd need a bus to fit all those bags, so we are trying to keep in down to 6 cases and 4 cabin bags. Worst case scenario we will buy more cases and get a mini van.

Four weeks from right this minute we will be on the MAGIC! But....funny thing is I want it to take its time getting here....sometimes for me the anticipation of the vacation sometimes is better than the vacation....so I want to keep posting and sharing with you guys but want to think each and every day that we are one day closer to getting on the ship!
See ya real soon!
Tom:cool1:
I get where your coming from. DH keeps saying 'what are you going to do after the cruise, you'll be lost'. Little does he know I will plan another cruise!

I've never flown internationally. Do you all really suggest long pants and layers for the flight? Does it get that cold on the plane? (I remember the icky sock discussion, so I'm bringing socks for sure.)

It can get quite cold on the plane. I even take my own blanket because my sweater has not been warm enough. This has been the case of most of our flights. BUT, on one flight, our section of the airplane was downright hot! When I walked through the plane to get exercise I realized that most of the plane was cold and our section was HOT. So, the secret is to dress in layers.

I understand Karen.

I have, over the last few years, developed extremely sensitive skin, so have my favourite toiletries for that(and we are away for 5+ weeks, so need a good amount. I have some extra things just in case. Same with my body skin. I now have a rash on my legs which I think is due to the meds, so extra stuff for that. I do think as you get older(not you just yet:hug:) you also get a bit fussier.

My medication bag has got bigger this time too.:headache:

For those of us that cruise on points and are concerned about this new "change" it is really not new. DCL only releases a certain amount of staterooms for DVC except for the member cruise, of course. It is the same as when you can't book a DVC resort room on points but can make a cash ressie for the same room/resort. Just my two cents....

Thank you for explaining it in such a clear way. I have known this all along and now a lot of people are in an uproar over a policy change that is actually not a policy change.

Anyone else finding this site slow to load at times over the last few days, yet again?
It is beginning to irritate me.

My medication bag has got bigger this time too.:headache:

Oi, those medication bags, I swear my MIL brings a suitcase full of meds everytime she comes, I laugh at her and she says 'your time will come', and I have to admit it's getting bigger every year, mainly 'just in case' stuff though.:rotfl:

Yeah for multiquote!

A small thing overall and slightly off topic...

My DD Lilian lost her first tooth today. She is very excited. :cheer2:
My baby is growing up.:goodvibes :sad1::yay:

Ah well done Lilian!

DW has posted the start of our med cruise in the trip reports section

Thanks for this! Gonna have a nose over there after catching up here

Hello all....suggestions needed from the experts....my DW and I h ave never been on anything but a Caribbean or Bahamas cruise....so when we go to Europe and go to Gibralter and Madiera we will be there for the first time. We would like to see the places but do not know what the best type of tour for us to take. We are not water people so no need to go to the beach. Any suggestions from you guys....I know it would probably be smarter to just book with DCL...but it always tends to be more expensive.....we definately want to see the Rock in Gibralter but Madiera is up in the air.....I am one that usually would love to just stay on the ship but don't know if we will ever go back so would like to see some of the countries....any direction you can steer us in would be helpful and most appreciated!
Tom & Marilou

Were doing the DCL Rock Tour in Gibralter as last time it actually wasn't that much cheaper doing it via a taxi and did everything we wanted to do. I think were just getting off in Madiera and grabbign some souvenirs

Hi all,

With all the talk of excursions of late, last night I was playing around with something I started a month ago, but never got around to completing. In part I wasn't sure if everyone would want to do this, so I'd like to get feedback before I complete it.

I'd like to get feedback to see if people would be interested in doing this. Right now only the sign-up part is complete, but I could have the list of events and event detail pages completed pretty quickly.

Please feel free to play around, but the data is just test data, and will be deleted if/when we set up all the events/excursions.

Glenn

*All web and database design proudly done on a PC :surfweb: :lmao:

I think this is a great idea! I tried to add me and Dan on a few things! Is it meant to show under events once you've added it or is this still in test mode so wont show yet??

Gizmo Sarah, I cant see any obc on my doce, where is that part:confused:

Page 7 theres a section under Prepaid tips! It says there about OBC

Just tried to pretend book this cruise online and nothing is available. Is that even possible? wow!

Possible yep! They did say about 2 weeks ago that we were pretty much fully booked. I'd assume we are full but not to capacity as there will be lost of couples rather than families.

Is there a place in the navigator or anywhere were it lists what time all the tastings, ladies tea and pink girls are? I've signed up for things, but now can't remember when they all are.

Thanks!
Lisa

Yep! Once everything is finalised there's a day by day section where everything will be listed. So far the ladies tea and pink girls is in there but waiting on the dates for the tastings.

Oh, the just in case stuff!!!!! :rotfl2: Well, 5 days at sea and not wanting to pay for the medical visit helps my case there.

I know we have a list of people with medicines to go to but I am a one woman medicine chest!!!:rotfl2:

cool thanks for that so the villians is a theme night i wonder if i can find a villians tie

thanks again for the information

hopefully we will see some great characters i love the villians at mickeys not so scary halloween party :maleficen

Yeah Im hoping so too

hi

yeah no problem go ahead

Thanks Jason

Very strange. Sounds like maybe they are releasing less rooms to DVC now in order to try and increase revenue

Hello all....just wanted to let you know that DD is home from the hospital....she got sprung this afternoon.....she has made remarkable progress and thanks to all for the pixie dust and prayers....now all she has to do is fill 5 perscriptions and keep taking the medication.....Thanks again all....you have been very kind!
Tom & Marilou

So glad she's home and improving!

Maybe Tinkerbell will get to visit her on the ship.;)

I had wanted to go kayaking in St. Marteen or Tortola can't remember which but I guess I won't be doing that now. I just hope I will be able to go and whatever I get to do will be icing on the cake.

I finally did all of my pre-admission testing yesterday. It was the 3rd time the appointment was actually scheduled. They originally moved it to make it the same day as my specialist appointment which was also at the hospital, but both appointments ended up being scheduled 5 minutes apart. So I needed to reschedule the pre-admission testing for yesterday.

I am ready for this surgery on Tuesday, so I can get on with the cruise planning.;)

Becky glad that you are ready and good luck for Tuesday!

I know some of you have already sent me a declaration of interest, but just in case there is anyone out there who would like to partake in our Disney Magic Scavenger Hunt, could you please send me a PM with your name, number of copies and your room number .... just so I have a vague idea of how many copies to bring. I will bring these to the DIS meet on the first day and for those who don't make the meet I will drop it off in your FE / Fish on the first sea day.

The scavenger hunt will involve finding things out about the Magic, photographing items and finding items and should be a lot of fun. Participants should hand in their completed forms and show us their photos and items collected on the last sea day in the morning, before the Farewell Lunch, as that is when we will be giving out the prizes. Location and time to be finalised for dropping off the sheets etc.

So far I have the following people on the list ( could you please confirm how many copies you will need ie. if you are doing it as individuals or together. Thanks.

LittleDisneyLovers
Coconut1
Candy Apple
Steamboat Will
Tinker1bell
Tweety0227
Gizmo1554
KCs Princess

Well be doing it together but can I get 2 copies please Sarah as I'm likely to loose/ruin one on the hunt lol

Hello from London. We saw Billy Elliot - The Musical, which was fantastic. Good story lines, music, and dancing.

Woody

Glad you made it to London safe and sound!

I can imagine.

In the past I've tried to save space by decanting a fair few of the various products into smaller pots and bottles but TBH I've found that it's best to take unopened/sealed tubes etc of the prescription stuff as they seem to be less effective if I take opened ones. Of course.

I don't now feel quite so bad knowing someone else takes loads of stuff!!! Only thing is I also take some of John's allowance. I like choice, and I have lots of bits n bobs and toiletries etc. I really am stressing about how I am going to cut down.

Isn't that what husbands are for? to provide more luggage space...

Well having just one month to go has got me motivated. I just made Lillian her pirates costume

One other interesting thing i was looking through the kids section of the web site (an excellent site:thumbsup2) and noticed the biggest singe age group is the 7 year olds (there is 8 of them) and out of those 3 are called Nick. Also they are the only age group to have a Nick.

That is a good idea Karen. I do decant some things, but on our last trip which was 6 weeks I was running out of some things, and was really watering them down to make them last.:rotfl2:

:littleangel:

Sorry to hear you still have problems. Sending :hug::hug:

I know what you mean .... unfortunately with Easyjet you could pay for an extra bag but it didn't include any extra weight unless you paid an additional £9 per kilo on top of the extra bag cost. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I don't now feel quite so bad knowing someone else takes loads of stuff!!! Only thing is I also take some of John's allowance. I like choice, and I have lots of bits n bobs and toiletries etc. I really am stressing about how I am going to cut down.

Fortunately I am lucky with toiletries and can pretty much use anything .... so I buying what I need in Barcelona. That will save a greatd eal of weight. Also what I don't use I can throw at the end of the trip.
