So now you can spend even more money with DCL too!!!;)

Might go for the 6 bottles of water and the rainforest passes for a couple of days.

Undecided about the wine package ... is it better value than purchasing individual bottles ??? Anyone worked it out ????

Such big spenders we are :rotfl2: . I plan to bring on my own champers from Barcelona.

Not sure of the costings for the wine package as we only bought the odd glass of wine, and they are really not too bad. Do you get much choice in the wine you have because that would help me decide if I would want the package or choose each night.

I am not totally sure but from the way I read it you can pick a bottle from a set list for the package ...or pick 7 bottles for the 7 night one. It works out at $27 per bottle and I am not sure how much individual bottles are if you buy them separately. Does anyone have a wine list from the Magic ??

Good on ya Mate for the shopping - and finding a formal too!! I am impressed!! Can't wait to see the pictures!

We are hohping that getting Becca with your 2 that Lucy and Bella will keep her busy... Nice to know we are on the same page... Much easier to hang in the clubs with friends!!

Yes, add leave the kids at the club!!! We could do that while in Madeira and do something off the ship that evening... :) Just a thought... After our day trip we could drop the kids, clean up if needed and then maybe to tapas in town? Thinking out loud...

I will post a picture after our party next weekend.
I really think the 3 of them will play so well together, we'll barely see them.

I'm so happy for your mum that she has this fantastic vacation to look forward to with her girlfriends! How terribly exciting that you might be meeting her half way across the world from home, too!

For some reason, while I was thinking about my Wishing To-Do List, I thought that there are some things that our new DCL cruisers may not know.

  • The coffee table in the cabin will raise up and lower by an underneath lever.
  • Your bed lifts up from the bottom so you can store luggage that may not fit by sliding it under the bed. (Obviously there's still a height limit for the luggage.)

I know right, I hope our dates work out and we can meet at WDW for a couple of days.

I didn't know about the bed thing, That's a great tip, Thanks! :thumbsup2

If you have not reached the age where you consider yourself a bonafide Geezer, you can still join in the fun and come as an honored Geezer in Training. (No acronym out of respect for our friends across the pond! :lmao:)
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't mind it either .... and I think I am officially classed as one, depending on what the age classification is. I will be there anyhow, as an official Geezer in Training or if I can't be one of those I will be a GATECRASHER !!!!!:rolleyes1

I'll gatecrash with you Sarah, then we can walk the geezers that had to much caffeine back to their room! ;)

I just got an e-mail from DCL and got all excited because I thought MAYBE it was a cabin number. No such luck, but I was excited to get the e-mail, reminding me of all the fun to come in 59 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanna e-mail, I wanna e-mail, I wanna e-mail!!! :dance3:

My dad smoked from the time he was in WW2 at age 18 (1942-2005) til he was 80. He smoked first cigarettes, then in later years, a pipe. No one else smoked so he always went outside. The last six weeks of his life he was on a ventilator. I would not wish his last 6 weeks on anyone. My dad knew it was killing him but he was so addicted that he could not stop.

It's just such a horrible, addictive habit.

I may do the purple and black theme ... don't think I will do the whole hog with a villain costume .... even though I could easily do Cruella as I have a costume. What do you think?

Same, no more room for a costume, but will do the black and purple thing. :thumbsup2

It's great that your mum has something to look forward to after what she has been through.

I could be convinced, especially if Mitch is doing the class. He is from Australia and very easy on the eye.

Making jewellery is actually surprisingly easy. I started out with a kit when I was still teaching and got bored during the summer holidays. I soon outgrew kits though and made up my own designs.

The green concoction is the Sour Apple Martini and definitely alcoholic. On the Med cruise, they had about two thirds non alcoholic cocktails and on third alcoholic. It took me ages until I could get a Sour Apple Martini. The cocktails were also very watered down on the Med cruise.

Mum deserves a vacation! :thumbsup2
Great, at least I will able to understand his accent, being from Australia, even if I can't keep up with the spinning.
I am going to have a go at jewellery making one of these days, add it to my bucket list.;)
Are all the drinks watered down, or just the free ones? :confused3

Sorry that we got behind everyone!! We must have been busy planning our next vacation... Some fancy sounding cruise that is starting in Barcelona...

Hmmm, sounds good, we may just join you on that fancy cruise......
Seriously, you guys are legends for doing the website, Thanks! :flower3:

ASHLYN WON!!!! Ashlyn won the Tennessee 4-H Foundation Horizon Award and a $500 scholarship for college. Her area she competed in was Clothing and Textiles at the 4H Round-Up! We are so proud of her!! She worked hard this year trying different things - quilting, smocking, embroidery, made 2 dresses, pj's, pillowcase and a tote bag.

Awesome, I am sure you are very proud of her. Congratulations Ashlyn! :yay:

Fun For the Whole Family section had a dance night called, "The Hoedown Showdown". I figured it was quite funny since an earlier conversation took place about hoes! That is where you can where the outfits!!! They will definitely take this off the Navigator once we board the Magic!:
That is funny, DCL wouldn't know what was going on.....:lmao:

And you're 12/20? Wow, we could start a December birthday club (along w/the Champagne club, the Geezers, etc.). I did promise myself that I'd never have a December baby (sounds pathetic, but it never felt like I had a birthday, it just kind of ran into Christmas), so they're all 3 in April, which is great if I ever get a mother's ring...all diamonds!
I agree, I hate my birthday, the 24th, everyone is excited about Christmas, singing Christmas carols......not Happy birthday! I never get to have any birthday celebrations.

Here's the new pinlist.

So you can take a look if everything is ok.

Mine is perfect, Thanks.

Can't see why not - they allowed a floss bikini on deck 10 during the PC. ::yes:: they did and no it wasn't that pretty. :rotfl2::lmao: HINT to any considering this: Please bring duct tape to tape up any sagging parts so as not to leave a white part where everything else is brown.

EW, enough said......:sad2:

Spanx tape???

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

me too :sad2::sad2:

I am passing some time this evening uploading songs for my Ipod to take on this trip. I have all the Disney parades, fireworks etc. I would like a sort of Caribbean themed playlist with tropical / latin songs etc .... but I can't really think of any. Can anyone help me out?

We just uploaded a lot of Jimmy Buffet songs which have a great feel!:cool1:

Over the years I got a number of formal dresses from www.cyberexotic.com

I have always been very pleased with the quality and service. This year I have bought a number of dresses on Ebay. I got my dress for semi-formal night from this website: http://www.sexyher.co.uk/

Corinna

Oh must take a look, thanks for the links :woohoo:

Saw TS3. My son was only 5 when the first one came out and he loved it. Now my son's 20 and in college; I really cried when Andy was leaving for college in the movie. We had asked my son to come to TS3 with us but saidhe'd wait and go with his girlfriend...I miss my little boy!

Oh dear, that will make me cry too! I miss my little girl too.....

Not sure what age qualifies as a Geerzer but I seem to be "geezing" more everyday!

yay another 'geezer in training!' :woohoo:

I just got another e-mail for Annual Passholders in Orlando. They are opening up the Tower of Terror for all Annual Passholders on Friday the 13th for 3 hours. You can ride as many times as you want, but that will be the only thing open. I am tempted!!!

Oh that sounds great! I'd love to do that!:cool1:

Is that the UK version of TJ Maxx that we have over here?

I've always wondered that too!:thumbsup2

Is this "Pimp and Hoe Night" another night we need to sign up for????

Boy, would that be a visual!! I can't image DCL would be too pleased either with the dress code that would entail!!
lmao.gif

How funny would that be?!!!:rotfl:

:littleangel:

Sounds like you had fun!! Rocky Mountain National Park is an interesting park to visit. Isn't it about 75 miles southeast of Denver? I stayed once in the famous Stanley Hotel in Estes which is right outside the park. If you remember "The Shining" then you know the hotel about which I am speaking.

Oh is that where it was filmed? love that film...big Stephen King fan.....:rolleyes1

Thanks for the welcome back. Can't wait for the fall premier of True Blood. I hear Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are going to wed in real life. I loved her in the Piano.

She was great in The Piano....and was she is Fly Away Home too? Great film :)

You can just be a GIT (Geezer in Training) if you are under 50....

:woohoo::woohoo: I'm in!

How sweet.....

I am thinking of dressing up as well so maybe we will be just a few but how fun!!

madam-medusa-web.jpg

That looks like me normally Noel!!!!! :rotfl2: Guess I'm all set!

:cool1: We finally got a moment to breathe and uploaded photos to the www.transatlanticpirates.com site. :surfweb::surfweb:

If you haven't sent in a photo, please feel free to send one to us at photos@transatlanticpirates.com. It may take a few days, but we will get them posted. Then we can all start to put a face to the DIS names...:)

Oh - some quick stats... (In case you were curious...)
  • 135 families have signed up for Roll Call!!
  • 68 have sent in photos, 67 have not (come on - send us a photo!!)
  • We hail from 10 countries!
In progress still - loading the hi res graphics... Glenn is working on it now, so you will have them soon!

Sorry that we got behind everyone!! We must have been busy planning our next vacation... Some fancy sounding cruise that is starting in Barcelona... :rotfl2:

Really must send a photo in if I can find one....;) Thanks for the stats!:thumbsup2

Ok I am tired - I have been gone for a couple of days (or getting ready to go) and here is my story - copied from facebook because I was too tired to retype the whole story :)

From Tuesday pm:

Ok we are now home - in the past 28 hours we have: Ashlyn packed for Lakeshore - drove 1.5 hours there - dropped her off, drove to Paris, got a hotel room, worked on my Christmas Gifts book, ate dinner, went back and picked ashlyn up at camp at 10 pm, drove back to paris (45 min) to hotel and went to bed then this morning . . . .

we got up, had breakfast, drove to UT Martin (45 min), Ashlyn competed in the state competition for Clothing and Textiles (she had an interview) while aaron and I helped with a 4-H workshop making crafts with kids of military, then had lunch, drove 2 hours back to Lakeshore from UT Martin, dropped Ashlyn off, then aaron and I drove back to Jackson... See More, picked up the dog from the kennel, now we are home and aaron's new bed (used) is being delivered in about 15 minutes, and in 45 minutes we are having a water walking class at my house - somewhere in there I need to eat!

And I am so proud of Ashyn - even if she doesn't win, she made her dress she wore for the interview and had a great presentation board! And aaron did a great job too helping with the event today! 4-H had lots of great opportunites for the kids!

Many congratulations to Ashlyn, you certainly had a busy time! She is a very talented girl :goodvibes

Okay, I am sitting here, late night again, looking at Navigators from the Med and I saw the funniest thing.

Fun For the Whole Family section had a dance night called, "The Hoedown Showdown". I figured it was quite funny since an earlier conversation took place about hoes! :rotfl2::rotfl2: That is where you can where the outfits!!! They will definitely take this off the Navigator once we board the Magic!:rotfl::laughing::rotfl:

SHall we try it?:lmao::lmao:

Well, It is 6am, been awake from 3am and up since 5am so thought I would check in with my buddies since Len is snoring it up.

I was awake at that time too Lynne, decided I may as well go to the gym.......also had a swim.....this new regime is going well so far!!:cool1:

:littleangel:

Lynne, I need a language lesson... I was keeping up pretty well with all ther terminology, but "weather is just pants recently" caught me off guard!

:rotfl2: It means 'rubbish weather' Sue!:thumbsup2

I'll gatecrash with you Sarah, then we can walk the geezers that had to much caffeine back to their room! ;)

me too, me too!:yay:

Such big spenders we are :rotfl2: . I plan to bring on my own champers from Barcelona.

Then we can top up in Gibraltar :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

For anyone stayiing at Praktik Rambla who is worried about baggage weight I checked with the Praktik Rambla and they have hairdryers in every room, so thats on less thing to bring :thumbsup2

.

We bought a package on the EBTA in 2007 and thought it good value compared with buying bottles or glasses individually. If you did not finish a bottle at a meal, you could either take it away with you or finish it the next night when it was back to the next restaurant on your return.

Corinna

My tears & goosebumps moment comes when the horn plays "When You Wish Upon a Star"....oh yeah :goodvibes.

Yes, but I cant really do it I dont think, I can do pilates, is it like that? They did have yoga last time I crusied.

Yoga is pretty simple, just not always easy. It involves stretching in various positions ("asanas") with the intention of limbering your spine and working your internal muscles as well as the external ones. I do it in combination with lifting weights, and it's a great complementary exercise. There's a yogic saying: "You are as young as your spine."

I'd suggest you try it. It's both very challenging, and very relaxing (once you're done). The key is to go as far as you can into the positions, but not to do more than you can. At no time should you feel pain, although strain is perfectly OK.

See you there!

Richard

I will post a picture after our party next weekend.
I really think the 3 of them will play so well together, we'll barely see them.
Tapas sounds wonderful! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see the pictures! I also hope that they will do well together - it will be nice to have some adult time.

We can ask the tour guide from the day where to go in the evening - I would imagine that they will know of a good place close to the port.

I'll gatecrash with you Sarah, then we can walk the geezers that had to much caffeine back to their room! ;)

Ill gate crash as well! We can make sure that hte folks all hopped up on caffeine don't break any of the rules... :lmao:

I wanna e-mail, I wanna e-mail, I wanna e-mail!!! :dance3:

I can forward you mine!!

Hmmm, sounds good, we may just join you on that fancy cruise......
Seriously, you guys are legends for doing the website, Thanks! :flower3:

LOL - You better join us!! AND YOU NEED TO SEND A PICTURE TOO YOUNG LADY!

I did figure it out, I just think all the expressions are neat! I may have to get a journal and have everyone write their favorites in it! :rotfl2:

I agree but I am too lazy to go back n forth.
I just open a new window, answer the post and then go back to the old window where I keep reading.

Weather is just pants recently.

Shorts here.

I.ve been to the gym, now the beagles are "bugging" me, harranging me by sitting on my feet, whining and generally being brats to go for a walk, just on to check weather forecast and see if I should put a load of washing on. I think it has to brighten up, fingers crossed.

My dogs loved to walk and catch tennis balls. They wanted to walk, rain or shine!!

Well the rain finally stopped and Tony and I have just been for a walk along the sea front. We stopped off at the stream to feed our local ducks and they went crazy for the full loaf of bread we were giving them ... about 50 or more ducks turned up. They were as excited as I am planning for this cruise ... and all Tony and I talked about on our walk was " when we are on the cruise we will ....... " type conversations. I'm beginning to think we have one track minds !!!

Thank you to everyone for the congrats for Ashlyn! She is at camp this week (as you read) and I can send her "Bunk Notes" every night - I will copy all your congrats to her and send them to her at camp (she loves getting mail!)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: .... we might get a few raised eyebrows if we dress for this theme :rotfl2:

Congratulations to Ashlyn. I saw her work on FB and it was amazing. I can't believe she made her own formal dress. :worship::worship:

I think you're right there Noel :thumbsup2

Yes the purple dress with the Captain (is that Thord or Tom? I can't remember) was from the EBTA in April - she has made a different dress for this cruise for semi formal and bought a long black dress for formal night.

Now there is a thought.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't think this would be a problem here. I had the middle package on the Med cruise and this was only just about enough after me being really ruthless with photos and I still bought an extra photo on top of the package. So I was going to get the biggest package anyway and I cannot imagine not using up all the credits. Having said that, I might just go for the onboard credit. I was going to put some on anyway to cover the tastings and might just add some more for the photo package as well.

Corinna

I had to push really hard to get all our pictures for our package this time - it really surprised me that several nights they did not have pictures - only characters - it was the captain's reception nights (there were 2) and on the last night I think, and one other night - we dressed all up on my son's birthday to have a picture taken and they were not doing them - went upstairs to Shutters and they were nice enough to come and take our picture by the mickey statue.

My big thing with pictures is that I like buying the package knowing that I can trade it in (up or down) if I do not end up having that many pictures or needing more - I just did not like being locked into the picture package because I pre-purchased it :(
