Might go for the 6 bottles of water and the rainforest passes for a couple of days.

Undecided about the wine package ... is it better value than purchasing individual bottles ??? Anyone worked it out ????

Such big spenders we are :rotfl2: . I plan to bring on my own champers from Barcelona.

Is the rainforest pass cheaper than buying onboard?

I got the email :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Not us!! Do you think they know my shopping habits?

I am not totally sure but from the way I read it you can pick a bottle from a set list for the package ...or pick 7 bottles for the 7 night one. It works out at $27 per bottle and I am not sure how much individual bottles are if you buy them separately. Does anyone have a wine list from the Magic ??

OK so this is one I found. Note that last time they changed from the Normal wine list in Europe to more European wines due to sourcing the wine Oh and the prices are based on last year:

What is does show is that if you aren't ordering the expensive wine you don't save much buying it this way!

oh yes .... there's an M&S in Gib, they do lovely oudinot champagne !!!

mmmmmmmmmm :goodvibes

My tears & goosebumps moment comes when the horn plays "When You Wish Upon a Star"....oh yeah :goodvibes.

oh, me too! It was that way even when we went to wave her off on Sunday!:thumbsup2

Why don't you celebrate your birthday on Sept 24th this year?

Now there's an idea!:woohoo:

Well the rain finally stopped and Tony and I have just been for a walk along the sea front. We stopped off at the stream to feed our local ducks and they went crazy for the full loaf of bread we were giving them ... about 50 or more ducks turned up. They were as excited as I am planning for this cruise ... and all Tony and I talked about on our walk was " when we are on the cruise we will ....... " type conversations. I'm beginning to think we have one track minds !!!

That sounds like us Sarah, it's all we talk about too!:cool1: The rainhas just started again here and we have a thunder storm with it....:rolleyes1

:littleangel:

DON'T DRINK AND BID! It can get dangerous. And if you do go - for heaven's sake's - sit on your hands. It's contagious. At least that's what I told DH when a signed Ducky Williams litho showed up in a crate. :rolleyes1

Ha! You really want to see an auction? Go to a Ducky Williams auction. Now those are amazing to watch. And don't think that being on the 2nd (3rd or 4th) floor will keep you immune. :lmao:

It is easy to get caught up in these "Ducky" auctions. It's soooo easy to raise up that bid number. I spent $1300 at one auction for a couple of "Ducky" lithos. But on the plus side they really look good in my Den!

Can't see why not - they allowed a floss bikini on deck 10 during the PC. ::yes:: they did and no it wasn't that pretty. :rotfl2::lmao: HINT to any considering this: Please bring duct tape to tape up any sagging parts so as not to leave a white part where everything else is brown.

I remember seeing that. In fact a fellow diser on that cruise took a picture of "said" person standing at the rail. Problem was I also was in the picture standing next to her.:eek::eek:

Here in most of the States we've had almost unrelenting heat. I'd love a cooling thunderstorm, actually.

Oh is that where it was filmed? love that film...big Stephen King fan.....:rolleyes1

Stanley Hotel From Wikipedia:

The Stanley Hotel also hosted Stephen King, inspiring him to write The Shining. Contrary to information sometimes published, King was living in Boulder at the time and did not actually write the novel at the hotel. Parts of the mini-series version of The Shining were filmed there, although it was not used for Stanley Kubrick's cinematic version. The hotel and its surrounding lands are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Stanley Hotel shows the uncut R-rated version of Kubrick's The Shining on a continuous loop on Channel 42 on guest room televisions.

She was great in The Piano....and was she is Fly Away Home too? Great film :)

Yes, she was Amy Alden, the 13 year old girl in Fly Away Home

That looks like me normally Noel!!!!! :rotfl2: Guess I'm all set!

:littleangel:

All I need is a red dress and wig!!

Forward that to me too, please!! :upsidedow

Pj

Hopefully I didn't delete it already. :surfweb:

You can just be a GIT (Geezer in Training) if you are under 50....

Uh oh!!

Dennis wound up nose to cheek with one of these in the Rainforest.:rotfl2::lmao:  Except this one needed NO duct tape!! :rolleyes1 This has become one of our favorite DCL stories. :lmao:

Nope - same price - we bought those before the cruise last time too - hubby decided he did not want to go so I used both days.

Truthfully the reason that I buy things ahead of time or put on board credits on is to get the 6 months no interest on my Disney Visa - see if you put it on the card BEFORE you go on the trip you get this benefit - but anything you put on the card ON the trip doesn't - I found this out after our first cruise - and by doing it a month ahead of time for the cruise we also get disney points to spend on the cruise from our things we prepaid.

Now here is what I prepay

Tips

Water Package - it is nice to already have it in the room when we get on board (we do not really drink alcohol but we do drink water and I know the water on board is just as good but this is something hubby wants to do so we do it - I will pay $1.66 per bottle for it - but refuse to pay $65 for a bottle of wine I can buy for $20 stateside (we both love Rosa Regale and will bring a bottle of it for the cruise)

after that I just add up the money for the following and put it as an OBC:

Pictures
Excursions
Spending money for the kids
Spa treatments we have booked
Palo meals
and a little bit for extra's

This helps us budget also - then on board we use a different credit card that gets us points for other things if we go over :)

Yes! A December/Christmas Birthday club! :thumbsup2 I'm in!:woohoo: (23rd)

My brother's b'day is also the 22nd.....by the time my parents had my sister they 'got it right' and she was born in June!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I think we should do a Dec Babies Birthday Club lunch or dinner? PM me with a date and maybe we can do something for all of us one day on the cruise.

:rotfl2: It means 'rubbish weather' Sue!:thumbsup2

:littleangel:

In American, "rubbish" means terrible weather!!

FYI - just found this - for those with questions about the wine package go to www.disneycruise.com and click on Planning Center, then Gifts and Amenities, and then select Barcelona - scroll down quite a ways and it will have the wine information, you can pre-purchase it if you want. They also have where you can buy single bottles ahead of time- even if you do not pre-order - this is a good way to know the costs of the wines you like.

Thank you for this information, Krisann! I didn't know this and will plan accordingly!

ASHLYN WON!!!! Ashlyn won the Tennessee 4-H Foundation Horizon Award and a $500 scholarship for college. Her area she competed in was Clothing and Textiles at the 4H Round-Up! We are so proud of her!! She worked hard this year trying different things - quilting, smocking, embroidery, made 2 dresses, pj's, pillowcase and a tote bag.

Congrats. Her work looks wonderful. What great talent she has. We did 4H as kids and the experience was wonderful.

Fun For the Whole Family section had a dance night called, "The Hoedown Showdown". I figured it was quite funny since an earlier conversation took place about hoes! :rotfl2::rotfl2: That is where you can where the outfits!!! They will definitely take this off the Navigator once we board the Magic!:rotfl::laughing::rotfl:

I already have my outfit.

I did not think I looked that bad:confused3 I appreciate the duct tape suggestion though;)

Just kidding. It would take more than duck tape to haul up what gravity has gotten a hold of.
