Where do you buy you're formal night dresses?

Welcome back Noel.

Connie

Thank you Connie.

I buy some of my formals on Ebay, some at Nordstrom's and others at different bridal salons when they have sales.

:cool1: We finally got a moment to breathe and uploaded photos to the www.transatlanticpirates.com site. :surfweb::surfweb:

If you haven't sent in a photo, please feel free to send one to us at photos@transatlanticpirates.com. It may take a few days, but we will get them posted. Then we can all start to put a face to the DIS names...:)

Oh - some quick stats... (In case you were curious...)
  • 135 families have signed up for Roll Call!!
  • 68 have sent in photos, 67 have not (come on - send us a photo!!)
  • We hail from 10 countries!
In progress still - loading the hi res graphics... Glenn is working on it now, so you will have them soon!

Sorry that we got behind everyone!! We must have been busy planning our next vacation... Some fancy sounding cruise that is starting in Barcelona... :rotfl2:

Our DS, has really enjoyed his summer in Palo Alto. He hopes the company offers him a job! He'd love living our there.

I went to school in Palo Alto so I have to agree it is a great place to work and live.

My nephew who just got married got a job in Palo Alto. The company moved him from Colorado and gave him two weeks off after barely starting the job.

Well I'm not having a good day. I was on the back county roads of Lancaster county and when i get back to my office i look at my back tire and the is a bulge in my rear tire. My have been one of the pot hole i hit on fine Pennsylvania road. It cost over $150 for a new tire.

On other news. I got the bus contract today so I still need payment for a few people. Look at post 11 on page 1 for instruction.

Stephen

Oh Man.. another one having a bad car day! Sorry you were having troubles too:headache:

Ran off to Weight Watchers for the hour, came out and my car was dead. Thank goodness, for the first time I was able to park under a tree for shade. At 10 am it was already 107.
An hour and a half later I had a new battery, and the warrenty covered it all!

Welcome back Noel... glad you had a nice time.

Annie:surfweb:

Sorry you guys had such a bad car day. I am at least caught up with the thread and can now go do some other things. Only took me ALL DAY!!

Time for cocktails!!

Was PM'ing with Su_Kraft about yoga, and grousing that the official yoga sessions last a bare half hour, which is hardly time enough to get warmed up. Is there anyone who's (a) interested in yoga, and (b) good enough at it to carry on after the *official* session is over? I'd be interested. :thumbsup2

Besides, yoga's a great way to re-distribute the extra, um, ounces that some of us may find in the dining room. Or at least get it to move around a little bit. :rotfl:

Yoga, anyone?

Best regards,
Richard

We would love to join in. ( Annie and Howard)
A couple laps around deck 4 should do as a warm up.

Annie:laundy:

I know someone asked about medicine balls in the gym. We last cruised in September and my husband went to the gym EVERY DAY (he is the good one) and says there are no medicine balls. I am going to attempt the gym for the first time on this trip. We shall see.

Thought I'd share with those of you who are also trying to lose weight ........I managed to lose 5 lbs this week! :woohoo::woohoo:

Only another million to go now.....:rolleyes1 well, every little helps I guess!:thumbsup2

:littleangel:

Great job! Yes every little bit helps!

I'm looking at the Pacsafe's right now...but they are so expensive! I may just bite the bullet and buy one though...we'll see...

The Pacsafe site had one for around $16

You know, that is stuff you can't just replace. Take my underwear, take my money, but NOT my passport!! :rolleyes1

Which reminds me - I need to get out our copies of our passports - everyone in our group carries a copy of every passport - chances of everyone loosing their passports and copies is very slim - I manage to get it down to one sheet with all 4 on it and everyone gets a copy.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday. Since December I have been going to the gym quite regularly. During the Soccer World Cup they had a competition where you had to do 30 minutes exercise for each country in the World Cup. At the halfway stage you got a special event t shirt and everybody who completed it was put in a draw for some really neat prices. Well, we won a spa day for two. DH is trying to find out more details today. I can't wait to do this.

Corinna

Too bad you cannot transfer it to the Vista Spa!

OK I had to share because I'm so excited!

As some of you know my Grandmother died a few months back. She died the week before I was set to take some important exams for work and 2 of the 3 exams were actually on the morning before her funeral so it was a very stressful time for me! Anyway the exam results came out today and somehow I managed to only fail 1 of the exams rather than all 3 like I thought I had! I'm still in complete shock over it all! I honestly was expecting to resit them all but only have to resit 1 next year!

Congrats on passing the tests!

Saw TOY STORY 3 tonight (only open in the UK yesterday) thought it was great, but i didn't cry... i must have a heart of stone :rotfl:

If you've not seen it yet GO SEE IT

SW

We are waiting to see it on the cruise!

OK - 2 yes votes and I am in for autographs... I figure a then and now shot... And as for the love of Disney - if she is anything like Glenn and I it is a sure thing... Even Stephen has a love of Disney. He loves the parks and while Becca thought a Sponge Bob cruise might be OK - Stephen was firmly against it... :) I am raising them right!!

If you do not want to sign on the picture how about getting a mat cut that has 2 openings in it and having the mat signed. But definately do it! Or even just have him sign a piece of paper and scan it in and create a digital page with the pictures and his signature!

Hi everyone! I am new to the thread and the discusson! This is going to be my first TA. I am a little nervous that with 6 days at sea my husband and I (no kids) at going to go a little crazy. Can anyone tell me anything special about the TAs and what they just love to do one them?

But I just wanted to say hello and intoduce myself, I am Tara.

Welcome!

Angie, that is a must ride for this trip. No matter what park I have been in for the last two years it has been closed, agh!!

Pj

We rode it at Disneyland Paris - it was fun to see the differences from Magic Kingdom.

I don't know who is collecting the info on the strawberry :cutie: FE, but I was wondering when the info would be updated on the first page. I'm getting ideas and need to start on them! Thanks!

That would be me! I am working on getting some information from a few of the participants still - right now we have 7 participating and there is still room for more! Just email me - would like to get us up to at least 10! I will post the list I have so far tomorrow to make sure I am not missing anyone.

Thanks. I tried to PM her, but her box was full. I guess it can wait a day or two.

My PM box now has lots of room.

Walt, my flight (09/16 out of JFK) was bought via Air France, but has a note, "equipment operated by Delta", and to pick my seat I had to call Delta directly as Air France was unable to complete that task. I also have two different confirmation #s one for Air France, and one for Delta, but I have print outs of both, so hopefully I will be good.

Pj

This reminds me - if you are ticketed on one airline but flying a partner airline get the confirmation for the other airline also! We have had a problem before that the number we had from the one airline did not help when the airline we were flying could not do anything with it. So now I make sure I have both when traveling!

Thanks for the update. I was concerned on seat arraignments. Delta has 2 seats on each side of many middle seats. Air France planes has 3 seat 4 seat 3 seat plane confiquration. Since I have 2 seats selected, didn't want another person in the aisle seat, if we are on an Air France plane. Hope that makes sense. :confused3;)

Walt :cool1:

Walt

We flew Air France in April and the seats were 2 on each side - don't remember in the middle if it was 3 or 4 but definately 2 on the sides so it must depend on the type of plane you get on Air France.

I have just been thinking of all the things I didn't do on the ship last time and I have decided to write a list of all the things that I MUST do this time.

:

Is this a "dock" list - things to do before we dock!

The question on the wine package has been asked a couple of times to DCL and the answer has apparently been that for a 14nt cruise, you need to purchase two 7nt packages. We haven't gotten a good answer that if someone has prepurchased a 7nt wine package (which is available to purchase online) if they would be able to use it, or if they would have to buy a second package to take advantage of it. 14 bottles is probably too much for us to go with, but I'd like a 7nt package, so we could have wine some nights, and other drinks the other nights. We'd always done the wine package since we were cruising with 2 other families, but our last cruise was just DH and I so we didn't order a package and tried some of the different drinks each night. I like the wine better than the daily drink specials, but the variety was also nice.

On the last TAs in 2007 they offered the 7 night packages. You could buy either 1 package to last the whole cruise (1/2 a bottle a night) or 2 7 night packages for the entire trip

I went back and looked at my EBTA 2010 navigators (which are on my facebook pictures if anyone who has not seen them wants to see them) and they sold the 7 day package - so I guess they will do the same on this one.

Our email came to Dennis. :goodvibes
yes ours came to Ashley but at my email - because I book the cruises but he is the "male" so they give him top billing.

I have never ordered anything before, but I decided to pre-purchase my photo package and also order the Bon Voyage package (petit fours and sparkling wine) as a surprise for DH.

Corinna

I pre-purchased my photo package on the EBTA - never again - what they did not tell me was that it was not refundable so I could not do the "trade it in" and go up or down with the packages as needed - which I did not like. So this cruise I am just putting the money on my account - you can send yourself an OBC for things like that if you want - you can even have the card say whatever you want.

Ok I am tired - I have been gone for a couple of days (or getting ready to go) and here is my story - copied from facebook because I was too tired to retype the whole story :)

From Tuesday pm:

Ok we are now home - in the past 28 hours we have: Ashlyn packed for Lakeshore - drove 1.5 hours there - dropped her off, drove to Paris, got a hotel room, worked on my Christmas Gifts book, ate dinner, went back and picked ashlyn up at camp at 10 pm, drove back to paris (45 min) to hotel and went to bed then this morning . . . .

we got up, had breakfast, drove to UT Martin (45 min), Ashlyn competed in the state competition for Clothing and Textiles (she had an interview) while aaron and I helped with a 4-H workshop making crafts with kids of military, then had lunch, drove 2 hours back to Lakeshore from UT Martin, dropped Ashlyn off, then aaron and I drove back to Jackson... See More, picked up the dog from the kennel, now we are home and aaron's new bed (used) is being delivered in about 15 minutes, and in 45 minutes we are having a water walking class at my house - somewhere in there I need to eat!

And I am so proud of Ashyn - even if she doesn't win, she made her dress she wore for the interview and had a great presentation board! And aaron did a great job too helping with the event today! 4-H had lots of great opportunites for the kids!

ASHLYN WON!!!! Ashlyn won the Tennessee 4-H Foundation Horizon Award and a $500 scholarship for college. Her area she competed in was Clothing and Textiles at the 4H Round-Up! We are so proud of her!! She worked hard this year trying different things - quilting, smocking, embroidery, made 2 dresses, pj's, pillowcase and a tote bag.

Okay, I am sitting here, late night again, looking at Navigators from the Med and I saw the funniest thing.

Fun For the Whole Family section had a dance night called, "The Hoedown Showdown". I figured it was quite funny since an earlier conversation took place about hoes! :rotfl2::rotfl2: That is where you can where the outfits!!! They will definitely take this off the Navigator once we board the Magic!:rotfl::laughing::rotfl:

Cruise related things:

I paid for my pins :)

My FE gifts came in the mail today for my groups

My gift for EBTA and WBTA cruisers also came!

I have packed my formal and the tiara's

Made a copy of my trip insurance

I know I have more - - - - just not sure what it is!

Oh yeah now I remember! I read about 35 pages of this thread to get caught up!

LOL! That is the dance from Miley Cryrus' movie (not the last one - but the last Hannah Montanta one) - my daughter had a blast doing it!

Congrats Ashlyn!!! You lead an exciting life. Your camp for the military families sounds wonderful! :littleangel: You need some rest - but you are up late too!

Just goes to show I am not a Hannah Montana fan, but loved the Hoedown theme!! Thanks for filling me in!:)

Krisann, I know I congratulated your DD on FB, but she deserves another applause! You are obviously terribly excited and proud, which I love!

Thanks for the welcome back Weren't you gone for a bit also? I know how hard it is to catch up!!...

You are correct. I was away for a little more than a week, and I think I had more than 60 page to catch up on. It was exhausting, but it seems there's more pertinent things going on right now, so I didn't want to miss any posts! Shoot....I just step away for a couple of hours at a time today and have a few pages to read! I'm glad I did take the time because there were some things like hotel-to-port transportation I would have missed otherwise. :)

Thank you!! We have a Hancock Fabrics store right by us! :)

Kristi

All of our Hancock's closed years ago! I didn't know they were still around. Bummer for us!

Well I'm not having a good day.....my back tire and the is a bulge in my rear tire. My have been one of the pot hole i hit on fine Pennsylvania road. It cost over $150 for a new tire.....

Oh man! How frustrating to have that interjected into your day. Sorry, Stephen!!

....Oh - some quick stats... (In case you were curious...)....

I LOVE to see stats! Thanks for sharing, Sue!

Congratulations to Ashlyn!

My triplet, DisneyGirl02, - I was just thinking about you. We are flying on Friday to Park City and I am already planning my plane strategy and what I can do for the time so I am not nervous and praying there is no storm when leaving Tampa. We will watch Until We Meet Again together - I will bring the tissues!!!

As far as TOT, I might go just for you and Albert!!! Albert, you should ride, it is always fun. I get nervous on that ride too, I call myself crazy and when I get off, I want to go again. When the elevator moves to the front, I always think it isn't going to stop and I will fall off the edge. See, stupid stuff.

I am so sorry to hear about all the people who are looking for jobs - I know from Darrell getting his business up and running. All these great ideas, that require money, but you are not making money. It will turn around - positive thoughts!

LOL!!!!! We really are alike! LOL!!!

Yes, it was hot but no humidity like we have at home. The Celesteal Seasons plant is in Boulder. They have a web site with directions. The road leading to it is Sleepy Time Dr and is in a residential neighborhood. They have all their flavors available for tasting at the tour center. The tour is free and your tickets are packets of tea.

True! No humidity is a big deal. When returning to my parents home I'm always reminded what great weather we have here. My dh is going to Boulder tomorrow. Maybe I'll take my mom and do the tour when she comes to visit next month. I doubt my two little ones would enjoy going on that tour.
